I have apparently hardly ever found quality guides.
But futo's guide to a self-managed life is a very good guide under this assumption.
can somebody please tell me why linux guides don't explain anything
i'm like "oh what does this do"
and all that the guide says is you need it ffs

A Dream of Infinite Waters
In the labyrinthine corridors of slumber, I found myself wandering through a vision reminiscent of the fabled Hanging Gardens of Babylon, that ancient marvel whispered of in the annals of time. Each time I turned, seeking to gaze upon the once-familiar landscape, I was met not with the static beauty of nature, but with an "avalanche of water fountains", each more extravagant than the last, springing forth like the very dreams of a deranged architect. These fountains, in their obscenity, proliferated with an almost cruel insistence, transforming the space into a cacophony of cascading waters, as if the very essence of chaos had conspired to drown my senses. Just as I teetered on the precipice of lucidity, poised to grasp the absurdity of this aqueous proliferation, I was abruptly severed from that world, awakening to the stark reality of my chamber, leaving behind the echoes of a dream that was both wondrous and grotesque. In that fleeting moment, I understood the fragility of dreams—a mere breath away from revelation, yet forever lost in the depths of the subconscious.

Yup.
Personally I think I'm shockingly normal for someone who has spent every day on the internet since they were 12

It's kinda impressive how Israel has wanted to do this for decades now, and this is literally the worst time in like 40 years that they could have done this.
Trump is incredibly unreliable, and has just alienated every single US ally. He's distracted by a huge and escalating internal insurrection and incredibly unpopular. Democrats will now probably rally to Israel's and Trump's side, but I dont think they have much support left among the general population.
A majority of Europeans, even in GERMANY, support an arms embargo on Israel. They have never been more isolated. I guess that's why they're doing this attack now, hoping to rally their Western allies despite all those facts.
May we see the end of Israel in our lifetimes. This possiblity is getting more real every single day. May the Iranian people be spared too much destruction by the genocidal Israelis. Death to Israel. Glory to the martyrs. Free Palestine.

Fucking zionists
May 27, 2025 - Israel’s ambassador to Senegal, Yuval Waks, was forced to leave a university campus in Dakar on Tuesday after students protested his presence and chanted pro-Palestinian slogans.
Waks had been invited to speak at a conference on international relations practices at Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD), the country’s largest and most prominent higher education institution. But as he arrived, dozens of students gathered outside the hall, chanting “Free Palestine,” “Free Gaza” and “Israel is a war criminal!”
Videos shared online show students waving Palestinian flags and booing the newly appointed envoy, preventing him from delivering his speech. Protesters continued to follow him, shouting slogans and waving flags as he departed.
Waks was escorted off by security and left the campus without addressing the audience. [video]/[article]

June 9, 2025 - In response to Israel kidnapping the Madleen crew members of the Freedom flotilla, hundreds of protesters shut down the train stations in Lausanne and Geneva in Switzerland for hours, to disrupt business as usual and demand their government act against Israeli impunity. Never shut up. Always be a voice of truth and justice.
June 9 & 10, 2025 - Scenes from a small portion of the protests in response to Israel hijacking the Madleen ship of the freedom flotilla, which tried to break Israel's illegal blockade of Palestine and bring aid to the starving people of Gaza.
Hundreds of thousands of people all over the world took to the streets in solidarity with Palestine, in condemnation of Israel, and to demand an immediate end to the genocide.

A good rule of thumb for AI is "would you trust a trained pigeon to do this?"
"We trained a pigeon to recognise cancerous cell clusters and somehow they're really good at it" okay great, that's something that could plausibly be a thing.
"We trained a pigeon to recognise good CV:s and left it in charge of sorting through all our job applications" uh perhaps consider not doing that.

Hearing Netanyahu justify his attack on Iran by saying "Now just imagine 10,000 tonnes of TNT landing on a country the size of New Jersey. This is an intolerable threat." made me see red.
This is the man that had dropped 85,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza by November 2024—and god knows what that number is now. The blatant hypocrisy is expected but it's still so absolutely insane to hear with your own ears.

Saw someone say that most intelligent alien life forms are likely prey animals, so I wanted to add something after falling down the humans are space orcs rabbit hole for the millionth time.
Humans are predators right? But in our day to day lives we don’t really act like predators very often. Very few of us actually have an experience with hunting, with one exception; bugs. Especially flies or mosquitoes.
Imagine you board a ship and all of your crew mates are life forms from other planets, all of them just so happen to be prey. You’re an engineer and general aren’t seen as very threatening. You’re the first human the crews ever had on board so they have no reason to think you would be. That is until somehow a fly gets onto your ship.
It’s meal time and this fly just will not stop bothering you. No one else seems to be doing anything so you decide to be the one to kill it. You go dead still and track it with your eyes, watching to see where it lands. Once it does you move slowly until your hand is directly above it, holding your breath before slamming your hand down. Finally the pesky bug is gone and you can go back to eating. To you it’s no big deal. I mean it’s just killing one bug right? But when you look up after rubbing the dead fly off the table with your shirt, everyone’s staring at you with a look of shock, horror, or fear.
After a minute or two everyone seems to unfreeze and go back to what they were doing, still nervously glancing over their shoulders at you every minute or so.
After that your crew mates seem to always be slightly on edge around you. Listening to you more often than before, and letting you lead in situations where violence might need to be resorted too. While it’s not technically your job on explorations, you in no way mind being able to protect your crew.
Plz tell me how to tag this is my first time posting something I actually spent time thinking about.

I like how Israel is like "Ahuh, we'll be taking any food these instagram stars have left after they ate it all and distribute the remainder to the Palestinians."
Like we're gonna believe you after everything that's happened? Every single one of you should drop dead.
#free the flotilla#fuck israel#free palestine#gaza#palestine#free gaza#israel#israel is a terrorist state#from the river to the sea palestine will be free
