At almost every CES in Vegas Sennheiser seem to release more headphones and CES2015 is no different. Welcome the Urbanite XL Wireless Headphones. The new wireless headphones

The URBANITE XL WIRELESS uses some of the latest cutting-edge wireless technologies for great sound and the ultimate ease of use. The latest apt-X® codec is used to deliver clear, CD-quality sound and can be connected to many of the latest smartphones for the best possible quality. Set up is effortless thanks to NFC or Near Field Communication, which allows easy Bluetooth pairing to NFC-compatible devices or by bringing the headset into close proximity. Use of the latest Bluetooth 4.0 standard enables multi-connectivity – pairing with up to eight different devices as well as simultaneous connections to two devices, which makes it possible to link the URBANITE XL WIRELESS to – for example – a smartphone and computer at the same time. The price is £249 and is available for pre-order now!

Using much of the same tech are the Momentum Wireless and Momentum On Ear Wireless headphones which will also be available soon. These offer similar styling to the original Momentums but now offer the wireless capabilities.

Chord Hugo TT

It has been a very busy CES 2015 with the launch of new Audeze EL-8 open back and EL-8 closed back headphones and the announcement of the deckard amplifier.Chord Electronics were also busy prior to CES keeping two products under wraps and at 6pm 06/01/15 we were able to announce them.

After the astronomical success of portable Hugo there was a need for a desktop version, larger RCA's, remote and bigger chassis. Chord answered these requirements with the launch of the Chord Hugo TT or "TableTop". The Chord Hugo TT is 10" x 10" and features a lot of updated components over the portable Hugo. True galvanic isolation all the way to 384kHz and beyond, XLR output, remote control, reference circuitry and also ultra high performance super-capacitors. The super-capacitors enable the Hugo TT to deliver current exceptionally fast, much faster than the lithium ions can deliver in the Hugo.

The Hugo TT is available to pre-order now in Black or Silver for delivery mid February for £2995.

The second product is the Chord 2Qute. A product now much closer in performance to the Hugo. Rob Watts has updated the chipset to match that of the Hugo and upgraded the power supply to be much more capable. If you do not require the volume control and portability of the Hugo then the 2Qute is now an ideal component to purchase. The 2Qute will be available in mid April, however it is now available for pre-order at £995.
