The library was the absolute last place you would find Cade but with his little brother’s paper deadline coming up, he took the time after work to pick up a list of book Aden had given him. Upon seeing Maddison, he leaned up against a book shelf taking her in. “There’s plenty you could help me with.” He smirked before hearing his mother’s voice in his head and regaining his manner. “I’m sorry, I mean I’m looking for books on the Roman Empire.”

Despite it being well after Halloween, Maddison was walking through the Library with a red riding hood costume. Being an aspiring actress and an employee there, she enjoyed reading to the children on certain days of the week, taking the performance to a whole new level as she dressed up as a character of the story she read. She felt no embarrassment, she was used to this kind of thing, doing it frequently when she was high school. She had just finished shelving some books and hadn’t heard the other person as she turned the corner of a shelf. “Ah! Darn, sorry about that, is there anything I can help you with?”

Cade, of course, was at another damn party. He had been attending this one every year for years now so Kennedy’s bonfire seemed like a second home to him. He was desperately trying to escape the anxiety he had over his own brother possibly following in the Helms boy’s footsteps and he was slightly successful at it. That was until he went to take another swig of his beer and was met by a cigarette. “I was having fun until you ruined my drink.” He teased Kennedy beside him. “What did you have in mind, crazy?” 

“i’m bored.” kennedy announced to anyone that would listen at the annual bonfire she and her brothers held. practically everyone was there, gathered in her backyard around a raging fire. some people roasted marshmallows, others lingered by the drink table chatting - most everyone about the same thing. the missing kid. kennedy was tired of all the talk about him, truth be told, it brought hawkins’ mood down, even further than usual. ashing her cigarette into the boy next to her’s plastic red cup, she cleared her throat and shouted to be heard above the others, “let’s do something fun!”

Cade could help but laugh at the customer as he walked in shrugging his flannel over his uniform coming to stand behind Vinny. “Man, let me take this one. You can get back to your ever growing client list.” He smirked looking over at the boy. “Besides I have a feeling if it isn’t done today, she may have your head.” He pointed with his chin at the customer in front of them. 

“Look, I’ve told you six times already Your car is leaking the Antifreeze and Oil,you are not my only customer in the store right now so it’s going to take either 3 hours or I wont even get to it until tomorrow or the next depending on when I can get around to it or you can take your car somewhere else  ” Vinny said sighing shaking his head looking down at his clipboard

He’s had his fair share of run ins with the law. Charges of violence, vandalism, breaking and entering, and the time he got caught trying to run away. Fuck the police is kind of his motto. Only because his douche dad is a cop.

Can he say is life is a regret? No, okay then. He’s biggest regret is not standing up for himself and burying parts of himself away to make others happy. He wouldn’t take it back though because it helped shape his wild personality now.

Cade doesn’t have many fears, at least not many that he likes to discuss. His biggest however would be that the people he loves don’t truly love him back. Whether that be because of his bisexuality or the things he has done in his past.
