Dance Gala: June 21, 2015

We cordially invite you to a special performance, DANCE GALA, which will take place at the State Opera, on Sunday, June 21 at 7 pm. Who can you look forward to seeing? World ballet stars and leading soloists of the Czech National Ballet.

Over almost three hours of the gala evening (prolink), presenting an exclusive selection from among both classical and modern works, and showcasing top-class dancers, you will experience breathtaking moments watching extracts from works by globally renowned choreographers (Bournonville, Petipa, Grigorovich, Cranko, Greve, Galili, Spuck, Goecke, Bigonzetti, Scholz, Cauwenbergh, Kozielska, Elo). 

The programme of the festive evening has been drawn up by Filip Barankiewicz, the future Artistic Director of the Czech National Ballet. The choreographies he has selected and the guests he has invited (including Czech artists) serve to outline his bold artistic vision and the direction the company will take under his guidance.

Czech National Ballet on tour

Last two days we were on tour in Friedrichshafen, Germany, during Bodenseefestival, where we presented Mahler’s 1st symphony, Field Mass by Bohuslav Martinu and Ej lasko (with Hradistan Dulcimer Band). Both two performances were very successfull!

SOLO FOR THREE IN BRNO

The Czech National Ballet has presented performance in Brno after 11 years. The performance “Brel – Vysotsky – Kryl / Solo for Three” is inspired by the lives and songs of three singer-poets of the 1960s and 1970s – Jacques Brel, Vladimir Vysotsky and Karel Kryl.  Using words that spring from the depths of the bosom and are as truthful as only the truth can be. Words relentlessly rebelling against violence, philistinism and betrayal, assiduously accentuating feeling, tenderness and love.

We had great success, so we thank the audience in Brno so much! It was pleasure...

World Theatre Day 2015 with Solo for three

World Theatre Day was initiated in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute. It is celebrated annually on the 27th March by ITI Centres and the international theatre community. On this day we will perform Brel – Vysotsky – Kryl / Solo for Three, choreography by artistic director of the Czech National Ballet Petr Zuska. It is a ravishing performance inspired by the lives and songs of three singer-poets of the 1960s and 1970s – Jacques Brel, Vladimir Vysotsky and Karel Kryl.

Don't miss on March 27, 2015 at 7 pm in the National Theatre.
