I have this planner with these absolutely ridiculous pages with like “motivational” quotes on them that are just these bullshit things like “Let your heart sing” and “Always believe in your dreams”

and like that’s always struck me as such meaningless bullshit, I’ve always hated those. They’ve never had that element that truly motivates me.

So, I took matters into my own hands and I made my own artsy motivational wallpapers. Enjoy.

My shitty art advice!

Screw it up. Intentionally screw it up. Take the doll you’re painting and cover it with nail polish. Take that recipe and don’t measure anything. Because the best advice I can give you for art is to not be afraid of it. And that doesn’t come naturally. So when you screw it up you can realize that a) most things are fixable b) you can always restart with a new piece of paper. And that won’t eliminate your fear but it will calm it a little. Hopefully enough.

for absolution to work as a song, it needs to take place in a confessional booth; peter cannot talk to father flynn face to face, because the scene serves as irony in the sense that typically in confession we expect the priest to forgive the sinner but in this case the priest is being forgiven by the sinner. to take it a step further, we can even say that father flynn is also a sinner and therefore a sinner is being forgiven by a sinner, therefore giving this scene (and father flynn’s act of shunning jason in a time of need) an added level of depth and emotion. in this essay i will

bare is a very important show to me because all other shows gloss over teen issues and make them seem pretty or quirky or funny. in mean girls, gretchen feels real teen feelings but we’re supposed to laugh at her most vulnerable lines (the iphone without a case line) and her emotional song (what’s wrong with me) is supposed to be funny and it’s sung very prettily in a beautiful mixed / head voice. on the other hand, bare is a show where i can messy sob to the songs because they’re supposed to be like that and the show is so real and so raw and such a true teenage experience- especially as a queer person. i’ve never found any other media that presents my very real struggles in such a way that isn’t heavily censored but also isn’t completely overdramatized. i can relate to these characters and therefore it means a lot more to me than if it was just a good show.
