Deep down, he knew, one day he'd have to explain that he wasn't born Russell Adler and that he built the male experience he has lived by hand. But he didn't expect it to be so early.

Phil's expression isn't sad like he'd expect, it's inquisitive.

"You know how girls grow up into women and sometimes they have babies, kiddo?"

Phil nods, tilting his head up at Russell like a puppy. If only throwing a tennis ball would get him out of this conversation.

"Well, some girls don't feel like a girl. They're boys, but someone made them into a girl by accident. They grow up to be men, but sometimes, they also have babies."

He crosses his fingers behind his back and prays that the little one understands the explanation.

"So, you were a girl, but now you're my daddy?"

"Uh-huh, kiddo. You don't have a mommy because I had you, grew you all by myself like a little plant."

For a brief moment, he sees the light at the end of the tunnel, and then he recognises it's someone shining a torch through the train window just before it hits him.

"So, is Uncle Frank my other daddy?"

Russell curses what pregnancy did to his once-stable body because he genuinely does almost piss himself laughing.

it's pride month. all i ask is that we do not forget our roots. especially trans women. regardless of your identity, trans women are the backbone of this community and they face the most hate within the lgbtq+ community. transmisogyny is real and it's dangerous. for as long as we have had rights and even before then, trans women were there. they've always been there. think back to the 80's, all that was going on back then, and trans women were at the forefront of it.

think about every anti-trans propaganda you've ever seen. i don't know about you, but i barely see anti ftm propaganda going around, it's all anti mtf (yes, i know they hate us all, but who do they hate the most?)

i implore you to uplift trans women, no matter what. i dont care if they're not transitioning yet, i don't care if they're not your idea of what a woman is, i dont care if they're not conventionally attractive. and i especially dont care if they don't want to get bottom surgery, because when did we, as a community, start judging the way others affirm themselves?they've always uplifted this community. would we have pride without them? who knows. being a trans woman is a beautiful thing to be. i love trans women, i always will. if your idea of pride doesn't include trans women for whatever fucking reason, then it's not pride!

- in the canon ashes to ashes or duga ending, bell (while still in the safehouse) would sneak out in the middle of the night to spit on adler’s toothbrush, then act like it never happened.

- park is allergic to oranges, but as a kid she reaaally wanted to try one, and her EpiPen was about to expire, so she ate four oranges in a row and jabbed herself with the EpiPen. safe to say her parents were not happy.

- woods can make a philly cheesesteak, and cook a hotdog perfectly medium rare in a microwave. any other dishes than that, and he will light himself, the kitchen, and mason all on fire at once.

- sometimes mason still sees reznov, but in the middle of the night, or when no one is watching, he gossips to reznov like a teenage girl, dramatic expressions, high pitched voice, and everything. reznov listens intently and dramatically curses in russian at each plot twist. he also has his head-reznov help him make up plans for missions that sounds smart, just so hudson sees him as useful enough to stay in the field. hudson knows, and secretly thinks it’s cute that reznov and mason are having bonding time.

- if russell adler had a nickel for every time he had a dream that he was in family feud, except bell was steve harvey, and his very angry ex wife was the team he was competing against, he’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

- lazar turns his boxers inside out and wears them, saying it makes them “not dirty”. park knows about this, and when asked, will reply “no comment”.

- sims was known all throughout middle school as “lady-boy” because when a ladybug landed on his desk in the middle of a class, he screamed so loud the principal initiated an emergency lockdown.

- in the canon final countdown ending bell had their makeup done by park and sims at least three times. woods was nominated to paint one hand of their nail polish (turned out horribly), mason did the other hand and refused to speak or look anywhere else while doing it he was so focused (his side turned out okay, he cut bells finger accidentally while trimming their cuticles).

Tumblr has a bad habit of expressing fundamentally conservative sentiment by presenting it in the language of radical acceptance. Largely it's a matter of people becoming accustomed to the idea that their social media bubble is representative of the whole world, which leads to something like perversions in how one views the world.

Like, "Let men be masculine" is one of those ideas. There actually is no widespread social pressure not to let men be masculine. And in fact men who are not masculine often get severely punished for it.

There's also "You can just be a feminine man, you don't have to transition." There is nothing wrong with this statement on the surface: it is in fact possible to be a feminine man and not every feminine man needs to transition, but this statement is very much grounded in an understanding of social dynamics that does not actually exist in the outside world. Society at large would much rather have a feminine man than a trans woman, because while a feminine man is also a failure at masculinity a trans woman is much more of an aberration in the system. This statement, when wielded on Tumblr, often is grounded at least partly in unexamined transmisogyny. The speaker often reveals unwittingly that they would rather see you as a feminine man than have to accept you as a trans woman.

And there's also "You don't need HRT to be trans, medical transition is just caving to social pressures on gender," which again: you don't need HRT to be trans. This is true. But once again, this is ultimately just expressing the same ideas expressed by society but in supposedly woke language. This is the exact same language that has been used by the people guarding the door to medical transition, a system that is ultimately built on the terms of cis people. (I don't think I've posted about this here, but the Finnish system of gender affirming care is very much built on this idea that we need to make sure that not a single cis person accidentally transes their gender: that means screening every single patient to make sure they're trans enough.)

Anyway so you know. It's good to be aware of one's blind spots here. Your social media inner circle might be full of trans women in a manner that is disproportionate to how it actually is in the wider world, so what you don't want to do is draw the conclusion that masculinity is under attack and men are being pressured into becoming women. That's just a Fox News talking point.
