Hey Jin, how are you? I hope you're doing well. Let's just say let me show you something interesting (not scary). Meet your other self.
She's a little younger than you and she just works as a mechanic. And about the rest (Poli, Roy, Amber and Helly)…. Well, look for yourself, the photo was taken in the dark, but their eyes are visible. Please, just don't be scared.
They're…let's just say…not exactly from Earth. They're from another planet. Yeah, I know the other versions of you and your friends are a little unusual here, but what do you think about them, based on first impressions?
My others self?? Looks like I get to be a mechanic in every universe!
As for the rest, they sure look... Interesting. From another planet also. Well, I'm sure with a team like that, every rescue will be successful!

Hey, how’s our daisy doin’ :3?
I noticed you mentioned your grandmother used to sing you a lullaby, were your grandparents better than your parents?
ref from song-song Museum btw!
Oh, my grandparents..
I never met my grandparents from my mother's side, rather from my father's. Strict they were, but kind. It was a pleasant break from the routine, getting to have fun.
I sure hope they're alright...

It must get pretty boring just staying at the rescue station just monitoring Poli and his friends! Don’t you wish that you could go out with them and be a part of the action?
Oh, I WISH I could do that! That's why I've built the power suit. But it does need a few upgrades here and there, and the others think it's dangerous... III
But I'm sure we'll figure something out. We're a team after all!

Come on, I thought you liked butterflies!
Poli! What happened to the jar of caterpillars Jin gave you??
Eugh.. Me and bugs may be on better terms, although I prefer not having them in my room. Pretty sure she just went ahead and set it out, right @daily-jin-madebygenius ?

Oh get the donuts, buddy! It's gonna be a long ride...
As you may know my parents weren't the best ones as they were.. Conservatives. They were racist towards vehicles and had a quite old fashioned way of thinking. Especially my mother! Her best bet was to marry me away and make me a housewife like her.
Except I never lived up to their standards. I was too weird for them. Too boyish and too much of a rebel. The bullying thing was actually happening since primary school but it wasn't so severe. Either way, that was because I was interested in being friends with metal chunks like you!
So after many years of my parents holding me back I was fed up with everything and I secretly applied for the academy I used to be in. But I couldn't keep much in secret since my mother knew every corner of the house.
So one day, she finds the application documents while I was at school and when I came back, we had the most heated argument ever. In short, she said that if I actually applied for the academy, I'd be kicked out of the house and they would never accept me back or whatever.. This was the last straw so I did the honours and left the house myself while still unsure whether I was accepted in the academy or not!
Not the wisest decision but at least you've got a tiny human fixing your wires every five minutes!
Huh, such fun times...
Hey, you don't need to worry about it. It's not the best topic but it's not like I'm hiding it either. Just.. Trying not to make big deal out of it. What's is done, right?
In fact, I could tell you more about it if you're interested.
@daily-jin-madebygenius
Well.. You can always tell me everything, Jin. We did go through a lot together, didn't we?

So, wanna hear how your sister ran away when she was fifteen or not?

Well, what about your father? Was he any better?
I'm afraid I can't say that... 父亲.. Was a rather inconsistent part of my life if I can express myself this way.
My father's name is Ming. He grew up in America and took my mother there right after meeting her. Ming was a somewhat absent figure, always working to provide for the family.
He was a realist. At some point my mother wanted to homeschool me but he stopped her. Having more interaction with the world outside our house, he said that I'd have to be educated in order to find a man. Then again, 父亲 didn't believe in me much..
He had this competitive mindset that everyone who isn't your friend, is your opponent. That you need to break your back and blow out your brains to be the best, to always work and make the others proud... I think we're alike in that matter, aren't we?

Oh, your mom? How was she like?..
O-Oh, my 母亲...
She.. Was a strick mother. Conservative at that. Mother grew up in outskirts of China, working in fields with her family. Like in any other traditional family, the pride of the relatives was the most important thing to children (it kinda passed down to me). 母亲 dreamed of that too, but she also dreamed of a luxurious life just like her name suggested. Xiu they called her.
After meeting my father she moved out of the country, became a housewife, got the life that she always wanted, and soon got me... She wanted for me to be a housewife too, always holding me back from chasing my dreams. So I ran away.
I doubt that she'd like my new family much, and that I'm sworn brothers with Poli. She never liked cars. And I don't think she ever like the real me...
But none of that matters now. We couldn't care less about eachother..

True! Though I don't blame you, Chinese can really be a hassle sometimes to learn. The thing I made you last week was Chow Mein.
Anyways, my favourite dish from Poli's cousine is Tteokbokki. I'm really hooked up on spicy food...
So if Jin is Chinese and you are Korean, have you ever tried eachother's cousines?
Sorry for the late reply, patrols have increased the further more.. It's a bit of a hassle at times.
Anyway, @daily-jin-madebygenius since Jin is Chinese and I'm Korean we of course tried each others foods! I try from the others too. I think it's important to always expand your tastes on different types of foods. Who knows, you might like it!
Although I don't really remember the names of what Jin makes me, haha..

The script came to its very end.
It was time for the actors to come to the backstage and take off their masks. Enjoying a nice break before more scripts were handed over to them to learn.
A soft laughter came from the sun. Pulling the sheets closer she covered them both with the heavy blanket. Soon, when the spring finally comes, the flowers won't need such protection. Rather bask in warmth while bees and butterflies sway around them.
Same here, Poli.. Jin carefully snuggled next to her brother, the two now safe and sound. Just remember that if anything happens, I'm always here to help.
Love you too, bro. Rest well.
At last, the curtains fell and the play came to an end. Jin closed her eyes, falling into a deep slumber. The siblings resting in the comfort of eachother.
There'd be no other harm like this, only flowers trying to adjust. And they will.
They're safe. They will be just fine.
[ END OF CHAPTER 5 ]

Another dream.
The star had more frequent dreams as to note. He constantly drifted off to somewhere else during his time in the case he got thrown in, so it wasn't out of the ordinary.
This one (and his last one) was just a little different than he anticipated however.
His eyes flutter open to a blast of yellow. A field of black-eyed-susans proudly stood in the greenery of the field. Flowers of justice, they say.
Though it was easy to spot someone caring for the flowers. A car coloured as sad as they can be, but their personality changed as to a new experience of the last dream he had.
Someone who used to be in control of the weather, often casting Thunder onto the weather radar of his dreams: Now enjoying himself in the complete scenery. He turns to Poli, greeting him with a smile.
“Son, it's been a while. Hasn't it?”
“Thunder– I mean– Grandpa?! But I thought–”
Thunder stood up from his sitting position, walking towards the frantic officer and placing a hand onto his head. Gently caressing it.
“I told you I would watch over you. I saw what happened.” Thunder looks to the side, a little dismantled over what had happened to the two. Cruel. Absolute cruelty. “You truly don't deserve it, although I think you should let the girl be a little more free than you think she is.”
“..Girl? You mean.. Jin?” Poli's eyes immediately avert to the ground. Guilty of what happened. The flowers brushed against his legs.. He shouldn't deserve for justice to be so easily handed over to him. “It's.. all my fault. If I wasn't so protective, then I–”
Thunder held his free hand out in front of Poli, halting him. “She's family to you. Of course you would be protective over her, son. Things happened. I just want you to know.. before this dream ends–” He took Poli's trembling hands into his, thunder bolts somehow soothing the regulus. “She wants to protect you too.”
The scenery began to glitch. Flowers going in and out of place. Poli knew it all too well, he's going to wake up! No, he wants answers! But that sentence alone was somehow comforting.. but not enough.
“Thunder, no–”
“We'll see each other soon.”
Cold air hit against his face, causing him to snap his eyes open. A dream left untold without an ending. How frustating.. Ah. Poli was expecting blinding hospital lights. But instead they were softer. Were they home? Was he in bed?
He turns to the side, expecting to be alone.. But a girl rested beside him. Flipping through a few pages of a book. One he thought she was a goner.

She watched the officer stretch himself up from the lying position he was in. That was the usual him, fighting off the effects of medicine no matter how sick he was.
Jin only grabbed him by his elbow, trying to signal that it was alright for him to rest. He seriously needed to stop tiring himself out or he might get an injury.
Relax, Pols. Just lie down, the others have our back.
The inventor yawned while covering herself with the blue blanket. She slightly patted on the pillow, inviting the leader back in the comfort of the bed and dreams.
We'd both better rest for the sake of our team, or they're gonna be so pissed..

No, not at all..
Jin returned the embrace by wrapping her hands around his back. She made some space for Poli, allowing him to rest near her chest, listening to the calm melody of the girl's heart.
I missed you too there. It hurt.. A lot...
The daisy recalled the time spent with the flowers. Endless hours of abuse. Unspeakable actions as the two eagerly plucked out every petal and broke the stem. Her only "saving grace" was passing out due to the venom of the oleander.
It felt crazy to think that all of that happened yesterday. Only some hours ago. And some hours ago is where these events will stay, as the time washes them further away. Sure she was scarred by them but she will heal, no matter how long it takes. She can't leave the wounds open.
I'm gonna see nightmares about them. Heh, looks like you won't be the only one afraid of the dark.. Jin chuckles at the statement, trying to light up the mood as she kept caressing Poli's back. Guess we'll need some time to get our minds off, won't we?

Once the robocar was done with his portion, Jin put the disk away on a nightstand. She took the warm cup in her hands and shuffled closer to Poli.
Well, I tried to do my best here. Your body will feel that way until it adjusts to the new parts, but the eye might be an issue..
She inspects the officer's frame. A once shattered frame now was fixed with a new layer of glass. Still, that didn't mean there couldn't be any issues.
It should go away on its own. But it'd be better to be careful. Just tell me if it doesn't get better, I don't wanna mess with your system more than it already was.
Jin takes a sip of her tea. Sweet and calming. She didn't fancy talking about that, but it's something she just can't shine away from. Not from her family.
As for me, uh-- My body feels sore everywhere and it's a bit hard to walk... Amber had to stitch up my hand and back but there's nothing that won't heal. I'm fine now.
