dalishious send help my dragon age mutuals are posting positive cullen content 😭😭😭
I have plenty of mutuals who also like Cullen, it's fine! The problem I have always had with #cullenites are those who are obnoxious about how they are right for loving him and anyone who doesn't is some heartless monster and doesn't understand his "arc" or whatever. But not every fan of Cullen is like that.

Do you have any thoughts how awaking Anders would fit into DA2 crew? How he would get along with companions?
I don't think of Awakening Anders and DA2 Anders as two different characters like some fans do, so no, I do not have any thoughts on that.

New DA fan here, and I have to say, I really appreciate your Qunlat dictionary. It's quite comprehensive so far, and a handy resource to have on hand. However, I do have one thing to ask. In TWoT Vol. 2, "taar" is said to be derived from a word for death, often in reference in heavy armor. Since "kata" is the actual word for death, I assumed that "kata" referred to the act of dying itself, whereas "taar" referred to death in a more situational sense (for example: asala-taar potentially literally meaning something like "soul afflicted by death" as a term for PTSD, beres-taar meaning "to guard from death," taarlok meaning literally "to know those who are now gone," etc.). So I was just wondering why you decided to have "taar" defined as "keep/take." Did you think it was a more accurate definition for the word based on the context, or was it just to correct an oversight of there originally being two words for death in Qunlat? Not trying to nitpick or anything, I'm just curious about it.
There's a DATV codex that translates "Kashtaar" as "Jewel-Taker". I decided to go with that since "kata" comes up more as used for "death" and death related. But "taar" works well in the context of "keep/take", when paired with other canon examples.
There is also a DATV codex entry called "Taarlok Itwari" translated as "Remembering the Fallen." Which works out that "taarlok" means "remember/memory", or more literally, "kept thoughts".

Sebastian Vael never tries to convert anyone!
Not once in the course of Dragon Age II does Sebastian ever try to convert another party member to the Chantry. I don't understand where this misinformation even began.
The only people he invites to the Chantry are people who are already Andrastian, in some form or another. Anders and Fenris are both already Andrastian, as declared in other parts of the game; they just don't actively participate in the Chantry the way Sebastian does. When Sebastian asks Anders if he wants to confess something, or if Fenris wants to come with him to sing or light candles, he is just trying to be open and helpful. Those are things that bring him comfort, so when he sees these other characters are troubled, he wants to help. It's really not any deeper than that, I don't think.
Half the time, Sebastian is not even the one who initiates discussion on the Chantry. He just politely responds with his invited perspective or input. One of the few times he brings it up first is with Merrill, and he is perfectly reasonable with her follow-up questions and critique. Their banter is mostly just discussing the differences between her faith and his, without any antagonism whatsoever.
Sebastian is also respectful of Tallis being Qunari in Mark of the Assassin. When other characters assume he hates her on principle, he's just like "no? why would I?" and expresses that he's happy for her, if the Qun is what makes her happy.
No, Sebastian's writing is not spotless; far from it - he was written by Hepler, after all, so what else do you expect? But it does bother me when people treat him so different from other characters who are very strong in faith, like Leliana. They are extremely similar when it specifically comes to their beliefs and the way they talk about their beliefs. And yet, to this day Sebastian gets fandom discourse that has never even touched Leliana.

When it comes to Sebastian, I think maybe people should stop conflating simply talking about faith, and trying to convert people. I think maybe people are a little too swept up on their own real life anti-religion hate trains to think constructively about the difference, because those two things are not the same.

Here we go again! This fanmade dictionary for the Qunari language remains a work in progress, but at this point I think it is expansive enough to start being of use.
Anyone can use it however you want! The only thing I ask is that you please share it if you do. 😊

Dropping my fan-made qunlat dictionary in about 30-45 mins from now! It's still a WIP, but I think it's extensive enough to start sharing.
