Still not one step further with my little animation, buuuut now we have this. ^^

I really liked playing Veilguard despite it being a bit short-lived. And I won't lie, but the good professor was my main reason for playing it. XD He's such a sweetheart. ^^

So during a way too long train ride (provided with all its delays by yours truly Deutsche Bahn) a drew way too many skulls. @_@ I'm not sure how much Insta will eat of the structure, just be assured there is some. XD Haaaa… I've always wanted to draw some art nouveau piece like the beautiful paintings of Alfred Mucha. ^^ It may not be close, but I like it nonetheless.

Another drawing to procrastinate working on my little animation… or my comic. 🙃

I found a similar picture online a while ago and my brain spewed out the idea of Idykett bound by ivy or flowers. This turned into me researching Victorian Flower Language and now here we are!

Don't worry, you don't have to identify them by my crappy drawing. XD It's anemone, red carnation, forget-me-not, rosemary, helenium, marigold, red spider lily and yew. Do you know what they mean? ^^ Let's just say… dear old Belinor seams to be a bit… bound by feelings new and old.

It's been ages since I've last drawn a comic. ^^ But, I guess, here we go again.

Welcome to a fight in Icewind Dale, near the Sea of Moving Ice, which… Bale will never forget.

I played a bit around with the brushes to get something close to how I usually draw with pencils. Not quite there yet, but I'm confident.

Oh my... this one fought me every step of the way. I guess I deserve it for choosing such a complicated motif, when others had drawn it more smoothly. 😅

Anyway, fans of Epic or the Odyssey in general might recognize the scene. It's Odysseus coming back to Penelope after being apart for 20 years. The blood of the suitors he just killed is still clinging onto him as are the ghosts of his crew.

This one was… quite a quest. XDDD My bard Grim only ever wears black and his Tressym is black as well. Thank goodness the highlights helped. XD

Grim was my second DnD character and one I played for years. Due through an early conversion mistake I made him absurdly tall (2.20m). Back then I didn't know, that Aasimar were just average height. When I noticed my mistake it was already set and we ran with it. Since the rest of the party were around 1.40 - 1.70m it caused some fun scenes. ^^

The action figure saga continues! This time it's Bale and their steel defender A.R.X.E.S..

A bit of lore: A.R.X.E.S. has the face of Bale's dead friend Arxes, who helped them to get to come to Ten Towns via ship. Unfortunately the ship got stuck in the ice and the crew had to walk to land during a snow storm. As soon as they climbed off the ship Arxes broke through the ice and drowned. Bale had been right next to him, yet he couldn't help him. It's something they never forgave themself for. 🙃

I Died For You [A Malevolent Animatic]

I began this animatic early last year after finding the audio on TikTok. Once I heard it, I was immediately struck with the thought of how those first couple of weeks in the Dark World would be for John immediately after Season 2. It seemed perfectly fitting, how John might be tortured by his guilt and uncertainty if Arthur was even still alive, and that torment would only aid his regression to his more… Kingly qualities.

I began to draft the thumbnails of the animatic in my sketchbook before transferring it to my digital workspace, which was incredibly intimidating at the time. This was my first independent animatic. In last year’s InvictusCon, Harlan popped into my stream as I was explaining my animatic thought process to my viewers, shaking with both excitement and terror. I was stunned when he offered to voice it himself. The next day, he sent me the audio file. To this day, I am still stunned he spent so much time and effort to create something. It was the encouragement I needed to finish a longer-form animatic. It may be only a minute and some change, but this is a whole year of my life condensed - my obsession, my adoration, my passion for not only this podcast but for art in general, both visual and audio.

It’s by happy accident that I finished this right at the cusp of the Season 5 finale. It almost perfectly slots in. So… let’s all pretend that this animatic took me a month to do rather than the year I spent sweating on my couch and complaining about the number of times I forgot Arthur’s wooden finger.
