I wish I had more energy…
I still have so much homework left to do with less than two weeks left of the semester. I feel so burnt out and just want to do witchy stuff instead. 😞

We are now at 6 assignments and three weeks left.
Things are looking/feeling grim but gonna try my best! 🫠
oh, my brain got overworked and shut down until I have only 6 weeks to finish nine assignments between two courses? Sure why not.
And I am not allowed an extension without losing my funding? Even though it was never a problem before, because of new policy changes.
I guess the brain goop will have to continue… 😕

Listening to lofi versions of songs by Hozier and replenishing my spell jar ingredients- because today was enough to make me want to escape reality and go live in the woods, and this is as close to that feeling as I am presently going to get.

Taking brain break to refresh my little blessing bowls for my altar; my lapis lazuli rabbit needed some extra love.
Fresh bowl with Cinnamon bark, Rosemary, Cedar, Lemongrass, Lavender, Rose petals, Salt, and Cloves. Also added bleeding heart and phlox flowers.

Late night studying sessions and mindfulness time.
Feat. the most beautiful candle holder I have ever been gifted.
Hoping to finish one of my assignments and do a tarot reading before calling it a night.

🧘‍♀️ 1. Meditation Changes Your Brain
Spiritual belief: Meditation connects you to higher consciousness, inner peace, and intuition.
Scientific backing: Long-term meditation literally rewires the brain:
• Increases gray matter density in the hippocampus (memory, learning)
• Shrinks the amygdala (fear center)
• Strengthens the prefrontal cortex (emotional regulation + decision making)
👉 Study: Harvard neuroscientist Sara Lazar found measurable brain changes after just 8 weeks of mindfulness.
🌿 2. Nature Heals You—Energetically and Biologically
Spiritual belief: Nature grounds and balances your energy field.
Scientific backing:
• Forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku) lowers cortisol and boosts natural killer cell activity (immune system)
• Touching soil or walking barefoot (“earthing”) can reduce inflammation and balance circadian rhythms
👉 Study: PubMed research confirms that grounding decreases white blood cell count spikes from stress.
🌀 3. Your Heart Has a Magnetic Field—and It Affects Others
Spiritual belief: Your heart emits energy others can feel.
Scientific backing: The HeartMath Institute showed that:
• The heart’s electromagnetic field extends up to 3 feet outside the body
• Emotional states can be detected in this field by others
• Coherence (a calm heart rhythm) can help regulate those nearby
👉 This aligns with how empaths and intuitives often describe “feeling other people’s energy.”
🔮 4. Intuition Is a Real Brain Process
Spiritual belief: Intuition is a knowing beyond logic—your “inner voice.”
Scientific backing: Studies show that:
• The anterior cingulate cortex lights up seconds before conscious decisions
• People often make accurate “gut” decisions without logical reasoning
👉 This explains how you can feel something’s off or right before you know why.
🔥 5. Trauma Can Be Stored in the Body—and Released Energetically
Spiritual belief: Emotional pain gets stuck in the body’s energy system (chakras, meridians).
Scientific backing: Psychiatrist Bessel van der Kolk’s work in The Body Keeps the Score shows:
• Trauma is stored in the nervous system and fascia
• Somatic therapies (like yoga, breathwork, EMDR) can physically release emotional blocks
👉 Spiritual healing rituals often mimic these body-based releases.
🕯 6. Rituals Work—Even If You Don’t Believe In Them
Spiritual belief: Ritual creates sacred space and sets intention.
Scientific backing: Neurological studies show that rituals:
• Reduce anxiety by creating structure
• Increase confidence and focus through patterned behavior
• Affect the brain’s reward and threat centers—even when labeled as “placebo”
👉 This is why lighting a candle or cleansing a room feels like it works—it actually calms the brain and resets your state.
