Almost MEBB time again.

I plan on announcing the dates sometimes in May.

So for those who want a prompt, or theme. I gave it a lot of thought, and ended on 'As above, so below'

You can interpret this any way you want, be it as opposites, or two sides to the same thing, perhaps literal as up in the air and down underground.

It's completely up to you how you decide to use the concept.

And like any other year, this is just an extra thing for those who like to have a theme. It is not mandatory and you can write your MEBB as normal if you want.

I realise this is not Mass Effect related, but I uploaded this to my other account. Thing is I have that account mostly to lurk - and basically only use it for memes, audiobooks from YT, and yarn stuff.

Also I am not the most social squirrel in the forest, so I tend to not post a whole lot. But I thought I'd make aware that this account I reblogged from, is also just me. And I thought that maybe someone here on this ME tumblr, perhaps could use any of these files for something.

I snagged these carpets off the internet, they are all real carpets, from real carpet stores. I just messed around with them like color, saturation, blur, sharpen, filters - so forth.

My daughter is making a game in Roblox, and she wanted some carpets for it - and so I made her these. Figured I'd share them as a free resource.

Again, these are all real carpets, edited. It is not ai - for those who worry about that. I would always, always disclose if I used ai, because I think it's completely fair that people want to avoid it.

It was super fun to write fanfiction again after so long, but I must admit that I seem to have lost my fanfic-fu. I mean that story I wrote, I had to shoehorn something fanfic'ish in there, because otherwise it was just a long essay on harnessed singularities and convergence events.

It was a mess, and perhaps I should have listened to my friend who read it (or well most of it), when I was still trying to decide if I should add it to the roster of the mebb. She said no, and I think she was right. I mean, it ends weirdly, because in reality it's about doubly as long as what I uploaded. But I ran out of time editing, and so I had to bite it off somewhere.

as a last minute decision I edited and tuned down the brainwash trap stuff on the Sprawl, and just how twisted Kaidan is in this story. Just because I thought it might just end up as Contrapasso if I didn't. Well, it DID end up as Contrapasso anyways, and all that 'edit out the most extreme bits' was all for nothing really. hahahah oh well, I tried okay? I tried to make it digestible for the casual reader, but I think I failed miserably, again.

So while I had heaps of fun writing it, and in general I had a super fun MEBB. Then I don't know if I have it in me to write fanfics anymore, even when I want to. I think I know what happened, because I spent many years now, writing longer works. And when you do that, you need to have enough substance and a subplot to carry a story beyond the 200k mark. It is a very different way of structuring a plotline, and characters, and I think I just got used to that. And having written nothing but dystopian horror stuff for about 10 years, it's a hard habit to kick for a 10k story.

I might upload part 2 of the story eventually, or I might not. I haven't decided yet.

And don't get me wrong, I mean this has nothing to do with the MEBB, it has something to do with me participating as an author ^^

I had the absolute pleasure to make something artsy to go along with @ginbiscuit's story in this years @mebigbang.

Not only did it just sound like the most awesome concept ever, but am a sucker for friends to lovers, what can I say? Also Gin writes such a sweet James always, that I simply had to be a part of it.

These two images are made with ingame images, cleaned up, edited and made to transparent jpg. Mixed with stock photo backgrounds, also edited, and my own cultivated vector layers (is that even called cultivated? oh well i made them ffs) for color correction and structure.

I also made her an extra thing, which is this track.

There is a long-ass explanation in the description box at my YT, as to why I had to make the 10 second sound clip of the Bodhran drum, and supporting hurdy gurdy separately with the aid of ai. (and am i the only one who just always reads that as Bodum?) - The ensemble in itself is not artificially made however, I stitched, edited and tweaked sound-clips, instruments and rhythm, until I had the bpm I wanted, the segments and rupture. (the track is basically 3 segments, just with pitch changes, adding and subtracting layer tracks - and also bpm change for the 'silent' segment.)

The description box also links to where I download beats, base rhythm, and sound effects from normally. I am saying this both to point out this was not the main art piece given to Gin (due to that fact), and also for complete transparency.
