Amidst pallets and barrels was their bahkauv, chained to the rafter of the wagon and pulled so tightly by his wrists that he had to tiptoe to touch the floor. His slight, vulnerable body was covered in scratches and bruises, as though he’d been dragged by the chain before being strung up instead. He hissed, fangs bared. They were an alarming vulgarity in such a disarmingly sweet face. The dark hair tumbling in front of his eyes was full of brambles and twigs.

Now we need a Picrew for the bakhauv and the trio. Idk why but I saw Rune as this cute young adult or teenager that I can pinch his cheeks🤭

I don’t think I’ve ever actually made a picrew. But yeah Rune in boy form is somewhere between like 17-20! :))

I will offer this:

Francis is freckled, strawberry blondish hair and bookish. He is curious, ambitious and competitive. Francis is the youngest of the three, and determined to get to the city for the university.

Stephan is a woodsman, and has been since he was big enough to go to the woods and lumberyard with his father. As a result he is noticeably strong, as well as being tall in the first place. Stephan is on this journey to pick up his recently orphaned nephew. He and Arthur are both 25 ish.

Arthur has black hair. He is good with a bow and a knife, and has a slender, shorter build. (from some very lean winters as a child) In another life, Arthur would probably be scholarly like Francis, but he is from a big family and has always had to prioritize having enough money to live and food to feed them, and now has a family of his own. He was nearly recruited as a hunter the year before. He came along on this venture to look for seasonal work in the city.

Here’s my descriptions of Rune so far from various chapters:

-“It appears human when it’s not attacking. Except for a few details. The fangs are one. The ears. And of course it’s utterly vicious, despite being relatively intelligent. Can’t teach it a thing.”

-*Noncon threat cw* “You sound like a person. You look human. That makes them hate you more, do you know that? It’s uncanny. Except for those devil eyes, you could be a boy of twenty summers, or less. Some of them even wonder if you’d be worth fucking. I think a lot of them wonder, and who could blame them? But no one wants to be the first to try it.”

-The Bahkauv was no exception, it seemed, despite being a rarer and much more regional phenomenon, not at all the infamous menace vampires had become. In fact, it seemed to Arthur that the thing was human as it cowered in the mud, eyes tracking the hunter that circled it. 

-It had a patch of fox-colored fur on the outer cartilage of its ears, he noted with surprise and some amount of delight. He hadn’t noticed before, with its head of dark hair. It looked soft.

-“You’re alright,” Stephan said, stroking the dark hair with his calloused woodsman’s hand. It looked huge on the creature’s delicate head.

-Their new purchase looked so disconcertingly human from a distance of just a few feet, it was easy to forget he was not.

-“I thought so. I was almost certain. That mop of hair hides the ears well enough in the dark, but it’s the eyes.” He pointed two fingers up at his own, glinting with firelight. “Not quite right, are they? I can always tell your kind, leech.”

-Stephan held his captive’s gaze, both bright and dark and not quite human, like some sprite sent to trick unsuspecting wanderers into a dark wood.

how much of max and carlo’s physical descriptions do you have hashed out in your head, other than what’s in your master list and moodboards?

Not a lot! For reasons unknown to me I have always had a mental image of a certain actor as a faceclaim for like two of my OCs, but most of the time I don’t. I kind of prefer to give some key physical descriptions and let the rest be in peoples heads.

I enjoy harping on one or two physical features when writing about an OC from another character’s POV. Carlo’s eyes and hair get harped on, for example. I also love being gifted OC art and that is more fun to me than real person faceclaims

Yes with Francis and Stephan and Arthur, and yes with someone else too.

not with the hunters. I think there would’ve been a lot of defiance at first and then their level of brutality and cruelty shocked him/temporarily took all energy/will

Surely the Palantírs / social media comparisons are exaggerated for the memes, even if there are similarities it's going to be distant enough to be amusing at best, I doubt reading about them in the book is going to hit me that strongl-
