Ok thank u for the thoughts!!! Admittedly I was guilty of putting them under same fantasy anime umbrella despite having different branches (culture - fairytale) hence why the question. It was interesting to hear :)
Your welcome! Feel free to ask anything and I appreciated it!

me when someone mention dungeon meshi
(cont. Prev ask) interesting opinion coming from someone that watched Dunmesh, any particular reason u hate historical theme?
Historical themes always follow a very specific terms, date or name that references real historical figure, and I already struggle with keeping up with names as it is so it get dull and convoluted to see specific name, place, time referenced over and over again. And I also not a fan of European setting fantasy animes. Dungeon Meshi is far stretch from historical, it's about culture, connections and worldbuilding the most, everything in it are from stereotypes the audience is already familiar with, but with deeper introspection. You can say "That's European fantasy too" no, it delve into the different cultures and regions too, like Shuro came from Japan, Kabru is Indian. And not just that, it go on into cultural difference, how Kabru dislike Elves food, mostly European as he referenced eating a Marzipan. It's not unusual because to Asians, European food are bland. Take example Senshi, while seeming like an aloof Dwarf, there's a whole story about his race's culture and racial expectations that shape him this way, and other species also react to how different their cultures are. Example, he's considered to be "girly" to dwarves but the other party members doesn't even notice how he's different than typical dwarven. Only other dwarves notice how badly he take care of precious materials like mithril, while the others never question it because that's not their expertise.
And more than that, it think's about how monsters would realistically live in this world, together rather than separate from it's environment, like the frogs living in poison vines.
There's many examples like this, if I go on what I like about Dungeon Meshi we'd be here forever lol.

#just finished the manga#the ending is intentionally corny#and i just realized the dog is a shiba inu#play on shibata's name#also the mangaka is an obvious chainsawman fan lol#anyway its an interesting read#i wished they done more with the female protag's jealousy tho#such a missed oppurtunity

my main interpretation of both characters is to find the objective truth in them rather than projections. madotsuki's dream are undeniably full of phallic and other sexual symbolism hinting at exposure of adult subjects a young mind can't healthily process, amongst other thing. lain, who wish to be a normal highschool girl has to come to terms she's not like them, even down to what she is, she can't name it and it's up the the viewers to come up an idea of what she is
i always see madotsuki and lain as same/similiar concepts, two medias that are open ended intentionally to speak more about the viewers more than the characters themselves. both madotsuki and lain are isolated, reserved, shy, complicated but how you draw why and how that comes to be is mostly based on the viewer's bias, personality and experience more than the characters themselves

honestly people SHOULD be more scared of how major sci-fi ideas are becoming reality in rapid pace, this remind me of how we all decided to pretend covid never happened and live our lives as if it's a distant dream
im watching an analysis on serial experiments lain and read the document from vrchat that basically confirms the connection between game lain and anime lain as the same lain but with different memories and new body, as the series often discuss the topic of "not needing flesh", "lain is an executable program" and more importantly, "if nobody remember it, does it ever happen?" which lain herself prove that belief isn't true what curious is there's apparently AILain, a chatbot that was active at the end of 2023 to early 2024, I haven't found much info about it yet.

#serial experiments lain#the way lain's memetic presence on the internet reflect the same beat by beat path as the serial multimedia franchise is fascinating#none of it ARE lain. the original#the shy insecure and isolated little girl#but rather idolized version that is chanted “lets all love lain” that worship a fragmented fabrication of lain's identity

During my time away from Amphibia fanarts, I rebuilt a Ramdaram, the creator of the famous Two Time meme and Soda City Funk, server, archive, and wiki infrastructure from the ground up, applying coding and design knowledge I’ve developed into it.
Meanwhile, two separate groups have spent two entire years trying to claim, steal, or mimic my work while doing nothing of their own. They call this “critique.” I call it seething.
You’d think with that kind of free time, they’d have made something. But you can’t build anything when you’re too busy checking if I’ll give you attention again.
Anyway, back to the real work.

the words i describe might seem crazy to most, but the common think the genius are sick, because they don't have the tools to witness the truth in the words

made me realize how "unconventional" my thoughts are, to me it's obvious if someone act, it's based on their psychology. if they curse they are speaking what the event made them feel, not necessarily because the event is good or bad.
and this foresight is, i sadly learned, is rare.
i been thinking of writing a full story a lot, over the years i've done some, a sprinkle here and there but nothing with an ending. i know everyone hate a story that isnt finished, with no ending, but the truth is a story doesnt end when the credit rolls, the character lives move on, undescribed but there, not unless the universe collapse in into themselves
#i can go on and on#that it relates to the topic of innocent things as a trigger#a chair can remind a person of their trauma and that lead them to feel unsafe#it isn't about the chair its about themselves
