could you please do an introductory post for Apollo, Selene, or maybe even Nyx like you did for some of the other hellenic deities?
Hey! I am so sorry this took me so long haha, but here is Apollo and Nyx!
Selene is in the drafts, but I am unsure of when I'll get to her.

There is just something about a comforting presence of a god, even if it isnt actually their presence.
One day this week when i had internet, I started sobbing because of a tiktok that hit a bit too close to home.
A couple of scrolls later, it's a horse doing the funniest shit imagable, after not really seeing horses on my tiktok. Almost as if to cheer me up in the exact moment i needed.
It's the tiniest things I see Poseidon in.

Hello!! I admittedly did not know Hellenistic Polytheism was a thing, but recently, while introspecting on my life so far and where I want to go, I noticed rather shocking coincidences that draws me to Apollo. For some context, I have always been an extremely creative and artistic person since I was a child. I play guitar and love to sing, I even went on to compete and win several singing competitions. I also do art (in fact my main source of income right now is from my art). But from an education perspective, I was always drawn to health and medicine. I am in fact currently a registered nurse, though I am not practicing as I have recently been accepting into medical school and am now studying to become a doctor. Health education (including the difficult subjects such as anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology) all come naturally to me.
I know that these are all within Apollo’s domains, and for a while I thought these were simply fun coincidences, until recently I discovered that my favorite flower, the Lily of the Valley, is not only used in pharmacology, but also happens to be called Apollinaris because it was said to have been discovered by Apollo. This revelation really shocked me because what were the odds I would be so drawn to a flower that also had a strong connection to him?
Can you explain what is happening? Why does he appear so often in my life?
Well, those do seem to line up really well. If you feel drawn to him, then by all means reach out and see what he has to say.
As I don't speak for any of the gods by any means, I can't exactly tell you why he appears.
He might just want you to reach out, and realize! Sometimes for nonworshippers the gods give glaringly obvious signs, haha.

This this this. Working at a small time diner was the worst mistake of my life AND I ONLY HAD A 6 HOUR CLOSING SHIFT. I have debilitating pain now after working as a server on shifts by MYSELF and closing the store, including mopping, BY MYSELF FOR MONTHS. I shouldve quit like 2 months into the job but it was the only place around thatd give me a 6 hour shift. Thank god it wasn't more because shortly after i've become horribily bedridden on days. Previously I could at least walk a decent mile and work out. Now even that puts me in so much pain I crumple to the floor or throw up.
That was this year.
Now between AI putting me out of work as an artist, and thousands of Ghost jobs on indeed, im officially without a job at all. And it sucks because no one wants to hire disabled people or even accomodate them.
I would like to see more people talk about how jobs treat disabled employees.
I used to prep, wash dishes, and cook at mellow mushroom. I had chronic pain that wasn't NEARLY as bad as it is today, but it was still very debilitating. I told my employer "i cannot stand more than 4 to 6 hours. I CANNOT do shifts longer than this due to my illness." And even though i made my boundaries VERY clear, everyday i worked it was 8 hours at the least and 10 or 12 at the most. I would go up to my manager and say "look i really need to leave, my shift is over, my chronic pain is killing me." And he'd say "we really need to here, you HAVE to push through." And so i did, and after one, ONE month of that job my crps got incredibly worse to the point where i could no longer walk my dog around the block which was .5 miles. I quit, and that was FOUR years ago, and ever since that day I HAVE BEEN BEDRIDDEN AND HAVE TO USE A WHEELCHAIR. It is my biggest regret in life.
My best friend who has seen my whole journey has recently developed undiagnosed chronic pain, and she is in the EXACT same scenario i was 4 years ago. Busting her ass at a pizza place with extreme pain that hurts her so much she tells me "im in so much pain i don't even feel like a person." She doesn't feel LUCID. And her manager and coworkers are saying the same thing "if you don't help us you will let us down, we'll be in the shit."
That job thats hurting you isn't fucking worth it. I promise you no money is worth losing all your physical abilities and never getting them back. Your coworkers and boss do not give a shit about you, so don't you dare suffer for them. They will never understand your struggle and they will never try. They truly think being understaffed is worse than whatever pain you experience. They would rather you permanently damage yourself than inconvenience them. FUCK THEM. DON'T FUCKING DO IT!

Honorble mention that Poseidon IS a horse girl, guys. Ask him about horses. It'll make his day.
Please acknowledge all aspects of your deity/ies
Deities are multifaceted, as are people. Acknowledge all aspects and the entire domain of your deity. Do your research <3

I worship Poseidon. Of course my heart aches for the sea.
Of course I would pick up and recyle every microscopic piece of plastic by my own hands if my disabled body would let me.

If you're new to helpol, welcome! We're all very happy to have you here. It's ok to ask questions. There is nothing wrong with not knowing; everyone starts somewhere, and you're doing great! Always be open to learn, and know that the gods are much kinder than what the media depicts. Leave mythic literalism at the door if you'd like! I'd personally recommend it.

reblogging again <3
I need to feed my bunny. I'm trying to get art commissions, put out adoptables, do customs as well
I also lowered prices on the guides, since 12$ is pretty steep. I also have 2$ e-offering requests, 1$ detailed offerings, and a 3$ hellenic journal printable.
Im thinking i'll make more aesthetic printables and adopts soon.
Hey guys! I quit my job due to my fibromyalgia and cannot work for a bit and i'm at risk of being kicked out tonight or the following week despite having the next months rent.
Sooo... i'm offering tarot, oracle, and rune readings on my ko-fi shop!
Alongside deity guides, which I will still be posting and my partner is helping me out with doing demonology guides. They're affordable, and if you want to just donate send me a DM and i'll give you a free general reading regardless <3
I'll be adding more with a reblog soon!

Proposed Iris Epithets
iris has quite a few epithets given to her throughout greek myth, though nowhere near some more notable deities. so, i took it upon myself to come up with a few more :)
this post by the now deactivated lyresstrings was my inspiration, and you'll see that a few of the epithets used on their list come up in this post as well!
and, a quick disclaimer: a lot of this is based on upg, as there is very little recorded worship of iris.
εριουνης (trans: eriounês; luck-bringing, ready-helper: an epithet of hermes, fellow messenger god. my reasoning was that rainbows are considered good luck, and in my practice, i consider iris as someone who occasionally grants wishes
ταχύπτερος (trans: takhypteros; swift-winged): self explanatory, proposed by lyresstrings
πρόπολος (trans: propolos; guide, attendant/servant): an epithet of hekate. while iris doesn't fit the "guide" part as much, she is one of hera's handmaidens, and is described as her personal herald.
κῆρυξ (trans: keryx; herald): another epithet of hermes that fits, as iris is commonly referred to as both a messenger and a herald. proposed by lyresstrings
χρυσορραπις (trans. khrysorrhapis; of the golden wand): epithet of hermes that describes his heralds rod, which iris is also often portrayed as holding
ποδαρκη (trans. podarke; fleet-footed): an epithet for the harpyiai, iris' sisters. i feel like ive heard this one used for her before, but none of what i read mentioned it, so i decided to mention it here
τανυσίπτερος (trans. tanysipteros; long-winged): self explanatory. an epithet for selene.
more UPG-based ones
κουροτρόφος (trans: kourotrophos; child nurturer): one based on upg, as she is hera's handmaiden, and there are various vase paintings of her holding young gods
καλλιπάρῃος (trans: kallipareios; fair-cheeked): another one based on upg, along with the paintings that portray her
Φιλομμειδης (trans: philommedes; laughter-loving): one laast upg one, as she appears to me as very bubbly!
aaand, that's it! i don't think any other iris devotees are active nowadays, so i suppose posting this is mostly more for fun ':) enjoy!

Hey guys!! Im sorry for the recent inactivity but I have exciting news. I'm working on a notion master list of all deities, even (broadly) categorized. My posts will still be made, but as a mini version as what this masterlist has to offer. So you can suggest deities to add there, too!!

Temples of Tumblr
Hellenic:
As more and more people turn to Hellenic Polytheism, I've been seeing some users starting their own tumblr e-Temples. With this, I've seen enough to decide to make a quick link post to our Tumblr e-Temples and Temple Communities.
e-Shrines:
e-Shrine to Hestia @hearthfireandhome
e-Shrine to Hades @of-asphodel-and-autumn
e-Shrine to Athena @athenais-99
e-Temples:
Temple of Poseidon @within-the-water
Temples of Aphrodite @beautyofaphrodite @temple-of-her-love
Temple of Hermes @temple-of-hermes
Temple of Gaia @temple-of-gaia
Temple of Zeus @childrenofzeus
Temple of Apollo @temple-of-apollon
Temple of Demeter @templeof-demeter
Community Groups (two @) and established Temples:
Temple of Hypnos @to-hypnos-we-dream
Temple of Hyacinthus @hyakinthou-naos
Temple of Dionysus @@temple-of-dionysus Federally recognized religious non-profit organization. (tumblr.com/communities/temple-of-dionysus/) [Private Community; message @iliusolympios for invite.]
Slavic:
General Temple @temple-of-perunika
As more temples are established and/or found, this list will grow. If you are aware of an active e-Temple that is not listed, or are that e-Temple, please do comment, so I can add it! (There are some e-temple blogs that are long since inactive, though.)
If you are okay with reblogging, please do so to help spread awareness!
As this post's list grows, the below posts and their contents are worth noting for beginner temples, especially around the usage of terminology and its implications.

Shop Update
First of all, thank you to all who showed love and support to my shop and view it! I didn't think i'd make a sale, but here we are, a masterpost was commissioned and i'm still giddy about it!
I would like to announce i'll be releasing some at home printables, as I unfortunately can't afford to ship anything out right now.
They'll all be priced at 3$ and the first one out is a 58 page universal prayer journal dedicated to deities. I always found these helpful, but I never found a hellenic one, or one that didn't just include bible scriptures and call it a day. So i made my own <3
Get it here for 3$ at the shop starting today!
i'll personally be using this as well <3
