Divinity Cove, North Carolina, an unassuming, quiet town just like any other that lies along the coast. At least, that’s how it would seem to any outsider just passing through. To anyone that lives there, however, the town is full of decades old intrigue and mystery. After all, peace can only guarantee so much when half the residence are secretly supernatural creatures. Ghost anon here again, sorry. I have a ghost character that I would love to play again but I really don't have a place to play her in. I did have a plot prepared for her if you guys will allow it, however.
If you’ve got some ideas then come off anon and well be more than happy to discuss it with you! We’re always excited to hear new ideas.

Note
Are we allowed to apply for two characters at once or should we wait the standard two weeks?
I don’t see why you couldn’t apply, though that’s not a guarantee that both will be accepted at once. We might wait a few days before accepting the second.

Can there be ghosts? :| I mean, obviously humans wouldn't be able to communicate with them, but could other supernatural creatures be able to?
It’s not something we’ve added into the roleplay as of yet, but we’re willing to discuss it if you have specific ideas on how the character type would function. We’re pretty open with things, as long as the ideas make sense.

Note
Do werewolves have a way of communicating with each other when they're in their wolf form? Like thought-speak or something?
They don’t, no. Not as far as full blown human communication goes. Body language and noises step into effect and play a big part in way of physically communicating between wolves.

Note
Since Fae can talk to animals, does this mean that they can talk to both werewolves and shapeshifters when they're in their animal forms?
I would say to certain extent. They can’t have full blown conversations because an animal’s brain level isn’t as developed as a human, but they can understand and communicate at a basic level.

                      ALERT: Severe Weather Update.
Conditions have worsened overnight and the town has now been placed under a Significant Weather Advisory and Flash Flood Warning. The power has also gone out town-wide due to a lightening strike happening somewhere between 2 and 3 am this morning, but because of the growing severity of the storm, repairs will have to be postponed until the weather cooperates.
In addition, a strong thunderstorm has been indicated by local Doppler weather radar, containing small hail below 1 inch diameter, and/or strong winds of 39–57 miles per hour. In addition, because of the long time-span of excessive rain, certain areas have become prominently flooded.
We urge our residences to stay inside and keep safe. Venturing out into the current storm is ill advised and may lead to severe injury or fatality.
-The Mayor
NOTE: Just because The Mayor has advised to stay put, doesn’t mean that your characters has to. We know that in order to post starters and interact the setting has to be a bit open. Just try to keep in mind the environment the town is in right now, and post starters accordingly. You are more than welcome to plot closed starters with other characters, however. We definitely encourage that!

Evelyn Chabery | 52 (looks 25) | Supreme Witch (Striga Coven) | Barista at The Yellow Brick Road
“All things truly wicked start from innocence.”
Backstory
Evelyn (never Evy) Chabert was always meant for greatness, just ask her mother. Her mother was the Supreme Witch for the Malefica Coven a while back, before her untimely death. As she aged, it became clear that her mother was grooming Evelyn to take her place, and the young witch was a fast learner. She was always a good girl, followed mommy’s orders perfectly and she became a powerful witch quite fast. It didn’t take too long for her to learn a new a power. This pleased her mother greatly, and that made Evelyn, happy. But that changed quickly, when her mother had died. She always felt uneasy about having to kill her mother to become Supreme Witch of her coven, and fortunately someone beat her to it. Or well, as fortunate as that could get. Evelyn was lost without her mother for a while, until she found dark magic. Honestly, it helped her cope. And she was good at it. She hated the idea of being under the woman who had killed her mother, of being in that coven. Almost as much as she hated Annie for what she had done. Eventually, she ended up changing her allegiances, and she joined the Striga Coven. Her personality had done a complete 360, too. She was no longer the girl her mother had known, though she was good at acting like she was. It didn’t take long for her to overcome the Supreme Witch of her coven, either. Evelyn became someone who was to be feared, and she was proud of that. To the unsuspecting, she played her old self. Cheerful, happy, and playful. But by the end, they knew. They knew that underneath she was evil. That she showed no mercy to those who failed her, or to those who angered her. She’s had tone down a bit because of the treaty, but she also knew how to be discrete when she was angered enough. Evelyn Chabert was always meant for greatness, just ask her.

Breaking: Large Storm Threatening East Coast.
A few days ago we were informed of a rather large weather front heading towards North Carolina, with Divinity Cove right in its path. Now we can confirm the situation and state that we will, in fact, be hit with some rather rough weather along with the rest of the East Coast. We’ve been working with local meteorologists and they assure us that the weather, while strong, will die down in a matter of days.
We insist that the members of our Town prepare for some rather nasty weather and we’ll be sure to help the local business stock up on anything that maybe be needed in excess. We urge our residence to plan accordingly and above all else, to stay calm. If there are any further circumstances that arise, we will be sure to inform the public.
-The Mayor
NOTE: We are planning for this to be a three part event, so for the time being the weather is kicking up, but not quite to its full potential just yet. You can have your characters discussing the impeding storm, buying supplies, or anything else!

Remington Stallard | 23 | Omega Werewolf | Bartender
“Got a curse I cannot lift  shines when the sunset shifts when the moon is round and full gotta bust that box gotta gut that fish.”
Backstory
The first memory Remy had growing up was of him on a blanket in the park between his parents during a picnic. They’d been happy, his parents had adored him, and he’d grown up in a house full of love since the day he was born. Every night, before bed, his father would read him a story and his mother would murmur, “Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. They angels watch me through the night, and keep me safe ‘til morning’s light.” Nothing could hurt him as long as he had his mother and father.
Remy was eight when his mother got ovarian cancer. Remy remembered his mother telling him that she’d be the angel keeping him safe through the night. He didn’t want her to be his angel, though; he wanted her to be his mom. Though she put up a fight, she passed away nine months later. His father, Albus, had tried to cope. Remy could see it in his eyes how badly Albus wanted to be a good dad. Maybe it wasn’t written in the cards or God had other plans. Remy never could have imagined that the day he lost his mother was the day he lost his father, too.
He was nine when the drinking started. Remy would miss school because his father was too drunk to take him and he didn’t know where the bus could pick him up. With each year that passed without Anisa, Albus got worse. Remy watched his father circle the drain, each time sinking lower into a downward spiral. He finally hit rock bottom when Remy was eleven, and that’s when things truly started to go wrong.
His father wasn’t really his father anymore. Albus centered his life on where he could get his alcohol and when he could drink it. On a bad day, he started at seven. On a good day he started at ten. He could never really look anyone in the eye and half the time he couldn’t get a full sentence out. When he got angry, he’d start throwing punches, and Remy became the perfect target. Even the words he’d throw at Remy cut like a razor. His father was a monster without his mother and it never got better. At age sixteen, Remy was trying to find a job to keep them in their apartment. He drove his dad’s beat up car around. He became known as the son of the local town’s drunk. The pity was bad enough to deal with. They didn’t know the pain he went home to at night.
Nothing Remy ever did was good enough for Albus. Made an A on that math exam? It should have been an A+. Didn’t do laundry? No clothes the next day. Didn’t cook? No money for groceries. Remy was so focused on keeping them afloat that eventually he dropped out of high school, not bothering to finish. It didn’t matter, though. No matter what he did, nothing was good enough.
Eventually Remy learned how to fight back. Though, as he got better with his words and his fists, his father got better too. When he was twenty one, still living at home and scrambling for money, clean clothes, and a way out of his father’s life, they got into a fight. His father pulled a gun on him. You’re too much like Anisa, he’d screamed at Remy, you’re a mistake.
That’s when Remy ran. He ran until he couldn’t breathe anymore, and the streets no longer looked familiar. Unfortunately for him, it had been a mistake to stop in the alley he’d chosen. The last thing he remembered was the sound of a snarl, and then a searing pain in his shoulder. When he woke up the next morning things, were different. Remy felt stronger, more capable; he could do anything. He was a changed man.
The full moon heightened emotions and senses Remy didn’t think possible. He didn’t know why he ended up outside that door but when he burst through and saw Albus sitting in his stupid red recliner, Remy snapped. He sunk his teeth into his father without a second thought. He devoured his father’s worthless, demeaning, body until there was nothing left. And he’d liked it.
Remy ran after that, all the way to the opposite side of the country. After settling into a small town named Divinity Cove, Remy swore he’d never let anyone take advantage of him like his father had. He would never be weak again, and most of all he’d never be anything like Albus.
Personality
[+] Adaptable, compassionate, hardworking
[-] Aggressive, melancholic, guarded
