Light

Is pretty open to whatever you want to do. If you ask him to choose, he'll go with the classic dinner at a nice restaurant and maybe go to a museum or something.

He's a very good conversationalist. He loves to learn so he's very easy to talk to; he remembers details.

'Oh, they hate this color, I better pick a different tie.'

If you're doing something fun, he'll have a good time. But he's not a fan of the 'lay around on the couch' kind of dates, they make him feel unproductive.

L

He LOVES the lay around on the couch type of dates. They're a good safe option for him when it's not safe for him to be in public.

When it is safe for him to be in public he's completely shameless. All of his habits and quirks are out on display for the whole world to see and he does not care if he gets judged for it.

So if you can't handle the secondhand embarrassment of your boyfriend having his bare feet out for free, you're going to have a bad time.

If you do go out, he likes quieter, more private dates. A library, a park, places that aren't too crowded or chaotic.

Cafes and bakeries are always a win for obvious reasons.

Misa

She really goes all out. You have to schedule your dates with her, because they can be like 6 hours long.

She's a big fan of classic romantic dates. The 'dinner and a move' kind of thing.

I think she would absolutely love to take you to a masquerade. A chance to experiment with fashion and dance with you all night? She'd be all over it.

She would also like shopping dates. She loves to pick out clothes she thinks would look good on you and will let you pick out things for her too.

Takes lots of cute pictures through the night and displays her favorites in her room.

He’ll only go on dates with you on his off time- work always comes first. He has to beat Near by any means necessary, that means his love life comes second to that. In another world where everything was resolved neatly, he would likely be more willing to engage in romance.

Mello loves an adrenaline rush. His favorite dates are always a little risky and you always end up sweaty and out of breath (in a good way.) 

I imagine he would like taking you out for drinks and going dancing- probably to raves rather than nightclubs. 

The dark is a nice excuse to hold your hand- so you don’t get separated of course. 

When you’re so exhausted and dizzy you can’t see straight, he’ll call you both a cab and you’ll do everything short of have sex in the back of it.

The real fun starts when you both get upstairs ;)

Matt

Matt loves relaxed stay-at-home dates. You hop on multiplayer on a really relaxing game like stardew valley or minecraft and just lay in a snuggly pile of blankets together. 

I think he would also like dates where you make something together- trying a new recipe, or making an art project. It might not turn out great - he doesn’t have a sophisticated palette or a lot of artistic skill, but he would have a lot of fun.

He doesn’t mind going out once in a while, but he doesn’t like dressing up. He hates wearing ties. He’ll do it occasionally for your sake, but it’s not his favorite.

Near

He doesn’t really do specifically set out *dates*. You both just… end up in each others company.

It’s never a case of ‘Let’s set aside this Saturday at 7 for a date night.’ Usually, you just end up in his room while he’s working, you distract him, and you two end up spending the next six hours talking.

I imagine he would like that type of date, where you sit and have a really, really good conversation for hours and hours.

Especially since you’re one of the only people in the world who can really keep up with him.

He might bring out something for you two to work on together, some of his toys, puzzles, models, etc.

He likes meticulous, detail oriented work. Introduce him to knitting/crochet and you two can sit and knit together for hours. (embroidery would also work for this.)

Silly goofy guy.

He likes new experiences, he’s willing to try just about anything once. So if you have a really wild date idea, he’s probably down with it.

If he’s the one to come up with the date, he tries to put some thought into it and make it personal to you. But he has trouble coming up with new ideas so he tends to stick to what he knows - you two have a dedicated date night restaurant you both like.

I have no idea why, but I imagine he would love live theater? Like specifically musicals. Take him to see Hairspray, he’ll have the time of his life.

Death note imagines: Confession/Relationship (pt. 2)

Mello:

Mello is hesitant to confess for several reasons. He has a raging inferiority complex and worries that he's not good enough for you, he also knows his life is incredibly dangerous and could get you killed very easily. On top of all of that, being in a relationship- being emotionally intimate- is weird and scary to him. He's not used to talking about his feelings. He's spent his entire life in flight or fight, survival mode, and doesn't really understand how to cope with or handle a healthy, normal situation.

He's used to fighting back, to fierce and never-ending competition because that's how he grew up. He's not used to relationships that are fair and balanced. It takes a lot of time for him to adjust.

He does eventually adjust and find ways to communicate. And once he does, the relationship becomes very intense and passionate. Mello loves hard, he wouldn't give you up for anything in the world once you're together.

Matt:

Matt tends to have a very relaxed, go with the flow attitude. This can sometimes work in his favor, and it particularly worked in his favor when it came to confessing to you. The minute he realized his feelings, he just... said it. It's not that he wasn't emotional when confessing, but he wasn't hesitant to do it like some of the other characters might be.

"Hey uh... I think I just realized something. I'm... in love with you?"

Your relationship, similarly, tends to be pretty laid back. There's not pressure to be the absolute most perfect partner.

Unfortunately this does have some drawbacks. While he does care about your relationship, he can sometimes come across as apathetic. He's definitely forgotten your birthday at least once.

Near:

Probably wouldn't confess to you. To be honest, he would most likely try to either ignore or argue against whatever feelings he's developed. If you confessed to him, he would be confused and somewhat flustered.

He would have a lot of the same concerns as the other characters over your safety when it comes to his line of work. The best case scenario is that you're someone who works with him, and he knows you can handle yourself if something dangerous does happen.

He's actually very sweet and gentle once you're actually in the relationship. He doesn't have a lot of time to spend with you, but he does his best to make up for it. If it's not a security concern, you're allowed to stay in the room while he works, he might even let you help with a puzzle or model that he's putting together. He likes having you around to bounce ideas off of.

Death note imagines: Confession/Relationship (pt. 1)

Light Yagami:

As Kira, Light is likely to confess and try to start a relationship with you for his own personal gain. Not necessarily out of disregard for you as a person, but out of survival. He needs you around to make him look like a normal, healthy adolescent. His feeling for you may range anywhere from mild interest to neutral apathy. If he sought you out and chose you to keep the task force off his back, then it's not like his relationship with Misa. He doesn't dislike you the way he does her.

Before Kira, Light was bored by life. I honestly can't see him interested in a relationship beyond keeping up appearances for his family. (Are you seeing the pattern yet?) If that's the case, someone in his life probably set you two up. A mutual friend, or maybe his sister. He likes you well enough, but he's not in love with you. Still, he'll play the part- take you on dates, hold your hand, walk you home- because that's what you're supposed to do, right?

Overall, Light treats you fairly well. He's good at pretending but if you're paying attention you can see him mentally checking off the boxes.

L Lawliet:

In general, L is unlikely to confess to anyone. To him, being in a relationship is a huge risk. So if you end up in a relationship with him, you probably confessed first. You would have to know him and work with him for a long time- you have to be someone he wholeheartedly trusts, which is difficult to achieve. He has a lot of trust issues, they're necessary for him to survive in his line of work.

However, once he does fully trust you, he is surprisingly warm. He's always making a conscious effort for you becuase he knows how much you've sacrificed to be with him.

He shows his love by spending time with you. Because for L, time is absolutely everything. It is the most valuable thing he can give you. Laying on the couch together, sitting up late at night talking, going out to eat together. He can't spend all his time with you, but he makes time for you and for the things you love.

You spend a lot of late nights sitting with him while he works. As long as you're not distracting, you can lay your head in his lap and just relax while he types away.

Misa Amane:

Misa confessed to you the third time you hung out in person. She falls fast and hard and when she falls in love, she dives in and does not look back. She clings to you like a lifeline, especially if you show her any basic kindness or compassion.

After her parents were murdered, she herself was stalked and almost killed. Despite the bubbly, care-free attitude, she has been through a lot of life altering experiences. She's hypervigilant, she has nightmares, etc.

Misa can be very obsessive. To the point where she might cross a line, and she might not understand how or why what she's doing is dangerous or hurtful.

She shows her love in the most wild, extravagant, excessive displays of affection. You walk into work one morning and there are two dozen red roses on your desk. (Prompting your boss to ask if a family member died and if you need time off.) You get home in the evening and she's made your favorite dinner, desert, etc. It's not even valentines day yet.
