Thanks! And thankfully the weather seems to have chilled out a bit at last, so finally I don't feel like I'm going to die from heatstroke because I put a shirt on.

I have SO many inspirations outside of musical influences, aside from the obvious stuff like "oh I liked The Matrix" or "I read Neuromancer", a good chuck of my influences are more obscure things. Movies like Dark City and City of Lost Children (big fan of cities), old games like Syndicate, Uplink or Decker on Windows xp, LOTS of books on anarchism and transhumanism, Tales From the Afternow, and making out with goths in mid-2000's alternative clubs.

You find inspiration in the strangest places sometimes.

I just found your music on Spotify and then found out you have a tumblr and I just wanted to reach out and say I am absolutely loving your music i think my favorite song so far is the surgery but favorite album is curse and regret but just wanted to say you rock girl and you make killer music

Also was the beat for Child of the machine inspired by pictionary for the nes or is my brain just being funky and drawing similarities where there are none?

TIM IT WAS JUST PICTIONARY

I love Tim Follins work (personal fav is Time Trax on the Genesis, the Genesis had a Yamaha sound chip which is why those games had *such* good music) but it didn’t specifically inspire Child of the Machine aside from being a similar chiptune sound. You could say it was one of many influences, but to be honest the biggest was probably the old bitcrushed sound of amiga games.

Sorry, I’m a huge nerd about that stuff.

I think Curse and Regret is actually one of my most popular albums, Manifesto Destiny and Pull Your Circuit Breaker have gone weirdly viral a few times, and it’s kind of wild that it came together so well because I was in a real dark place when I wrote it. There’s a couple of things I might change if I could go back, like I don’t think it was clear that some of the songs on that album were supposed to be kind of gross and make you uncomfortable. Eins is obviously the most blatant (I now live in constant fear of my actual sister ever hearing that song) but the lyrics to Lo#er and Strange Kind of Rebel are also pretty Not Cool.

Overall though I’m proud of that album, and I’m always glad to hear when someone is enjoying my work. 🖤

Silly question but do you think you'll ever do a video about the logistics behind the songs in brutalette like you did for degenerate and paracide?

I haven't got any plans for that, it takes a lot of work and we're a good while out from the original release, but never say never.

We'll see what I'm up to once my current ongoing projects are finished.

Absolutely, I've had a few other DJ's play my music during online sets and on streaming stations, and even in a few real clubs with actual meat humans!

do you ever do concerts or live shows? spotify has you listed as doing a few shows in vermont over summer but when looking into the events it seems like it may be another group that shares a name with you. i'd love to see you live someday but don't want to turn up to an event that's not actually you 😭

Hate to dash your hopes but sadly you're right, I've only done a few small shows, and exclusively in the UK. That's a punk band using the same name, our stuff gets messed up on a bunch of platforms. Spotify knows about the mix-up and they should get removed soon.

I miss being on stage sometimes 😞
