Starscream G1 and Megatron IDW are tickling my brain so much

Megatron IDW would be so much nicer to this new starscream that he hasn't completely ruined things with, and would find the screeching and takeover attempts and general overconfidence SO CHARMING the second time around, and let him get away with everything. Hell, with how low stakes the cartoon is (if he went to G1 verse, not the other way around) he'd probably play along like "oh yes. I am an invalid now after drinking bad energon. Bow down to starscream" and then he just gets to spend the rest of his time there following around strutting, crowned, starscream and feeling incredibly guilty plus hopelessly endeared. Its like those throwback pictures going "THIS is who you're actually being mean to".

Also cyberverse starscream ends up with tfone megatron and its goes. so badly.

NGL I think TFA Starscream would rock G1 Megatron's shit so hard. TFA Starscream was waaaay more audacious than G1 Starscream was half the time.

Also I can see G1 Starscream and IDW Megatron actually working out, because G1 Starscream had the only braincell among all the cons he was with half the time. Someone has a plan with an obvious problem that Starscream calls out and IDW Megatron thinks 'finally someone with reason around here.'

While TFA Megatron is completely intolerant of TFA Starscream's antics, TFA Starscream could HAND G1 Megatron his experimental fusion grenade and blow him half to hell, and once Soundwave finally puts G1 Megatron all back together again, Megatron would just say "Whatever that thing was, get him to make another and mail it to the Ark."

Headcanon that Megatron is the outrageously jealous type because he’s worried that Starscream could find someone better and leave him in a heartbeat, while Starscream isn’t jealous at all because he’s certain he’s the best option Megatron could ever possibly have.

The irony is that they’re both completely wrong - Megatron could easily find someone far less obnoxious and exhausting (like Tarn) if he really wanted, and while Starscream may be nice to look at, there’s not many bots out there that can tolerate his awful personality. Neither of them will ever understand this.

Yeah but the reason Megatron likes Starscream is because he IS so horrible. One mechs trash is another mechs treasure. He likes that Starscream is a horrible, scheming fiend, and it's just a little bonus that his frame happens to be lethally attractive.

Meanwhile, Starscream says Megatron is beneath him, and complains that he's old and dirty and has a face like punched scrap metal, but he's actually SO weak for it.

You think this prissy seeker would put-out even half as often for any of the more conventionally attractive mech always hounding after him? No. Megatron's crooked nose, and caveman-like scowl, and his ugly paint all make Starscream swoon!

And he IS jealous because obviously everyone thinks Megatron is as attractive as he secretly does! He's always hissing at Skywarp, telling him to keep his mitts off, and Skywarp is completely befuddled because "ew, he's an old man, Screamer, what would i even do with him??"

Last ask made me think of Megatron in Starscream’s place in the fic you wrote where he’s heavily controlled and married off and Megatron would have resorted to violence instantly.

Megatron'd just make a break for it. He'd live on the streets, take his chances in the seedy underbelly of the city, change his name, his colours, pretend he's some high-caste illegitimate bastard. I can't imagine an origin where he doesn't make it to the fighting pits, one way or another. This Megatron might have been sparked in a palace, but he was still made in the Pit.

IDW Megatron and G1 Starscream would be such a chaotic duo. I mean IDW Megatron is definitely softer than G1 Megatron, but he is also a hopeless romantic and very handsome, i just know starscream would be sparked in less than a day (TFP starscream might be going through something similar with how charming TFA megatron is)

TFA Megatron is too clever to get himself baby trapped by TFP Starscream. He's the sort that will want a paternity test before he forks out for childcare payments

IDW Megatron doesn't have much hope though, because he's stupidly romantic and G1 Starscream is just stupid full stop and they are most likely to have a little accident

Starscream would be this horrible shrieking harpy-like creature and he'd complain about it to Megatron who isn't sure what to say because... what do you mean that's 'nothing like you?' That's you every morning before your energon !

Am I weird for thinking Starscream would handle being sparked a low caste laborer with little freedoms better than Megatron would handle being sparked a high caste seeker with little freedoms? For as vain and complainy as he is Starscream is still a hard worker and knows how to suffer meanwhile I don’t think Megatron would know how to appease the upper class and deal with perverted nobility without punching them in the face.

No, you're absolutely right. It's all about restraint and internalising everything that might be happening to you. Megatron may not be free, but at least he's allowed to be himself. He's allowed to express himself and allowed vent his frustrations. Whereas Starscream isn't.

Starscream whole heartedly and with desperate passion trying to give a speech to thundercracker about how they can be more than just quintessons playthings that they’re smart and resourceful and that they’re masters constantly underestimate them etc.

When skywarp in the background fully runs into a glass door and nearly smashes his face in.

Starscream:…. Ok so maybe skywarp is better off here, but the rest of us!

Also not to get too deep into your au cause I’m not sure how dark or physiological u wanna make it but I can honestly see thundercracker being the most excepting of his circumstances in a kinda of too tired to fight it kind of way and just trying to enjoy whatever little freedom and autonomy he has.

Just based on thundercrackers canon personality, like he was definitely never the strongest supporter of the decepticons but still stuck with them, did as he was and rarely if ever raised any issues etc, plus I feel like if your gonna be a trine with skywarp and starscream u have to have except the insanity around u to an unhealthy level.

Skywarp basically being a quintessons I could see half enjoying be pampered, having no responsibilities and complimented constantly etc and the over half losing his mind from feeling bored, underestimulated and contained from not being able to use his processers to warp as much as he naturally would and deliberately ignoring the reality of the situation.

Also I imagine the quintesson that owns him thinking they’re so lucky to have a seeker that can warp as a trick.

Skywarp can warp but he has inhibitor chips to stop him from doing it himself. He really only gets to teleport for the amusement or benefit of the quintessons :( which for Skywarp sucks, he constantly feels leashed /restrained and it makes him restless.
