Simmers of Old! We need you!

Maxis has announced that the official Sims forums are moving — the forums we've been using for most of Sims 3 and all of Sims 4 years. It seems like Maxis has had enough of using an outside source for forums. EA is designing their own new forums, to be opened in July, and migrating threads over to them.

But there's a catch.

All the threads started after Sims 4 base game became free in October 2022 will be migrated. But not all the OLD threads. Those need to be nominated.

But that's not the only catch, and here's where we need YOU.

Older threads can be migrated only if the person who started them has an active AHQ account matching their forums email address.

If you think you might EVER have started a Sims Forums thread that someone might want to preserve, please see EA_Cade's post on how to make it possible for your old threads to be migrated. And please do it by March 7!

Hi! I see that the recent patch for TS4 requires the beds to be updated. I see you've already updated yours. May I ask how you did this? I made a bed and I would like to update it. Do I star over and clone a new bed? Or can I edit the package? I hope that makes sense. Thank you!

Hi! I hope you don't mind me posting this answer!

The patch affected single and double beds. What you need to do is update the slot and rig resources in your custom beds. I use Sims 4 Studio to create content.

Step 1. Clone any double or single bed (depending on whether you need to update a custom single or double bed).

Step 2. Go to Warehouse tab. Select slot and rig resources and batch export them. You will be adding them to your custom bed later.

Step 3. Open your custom bed package. Go to the Warehouse tab. Select a rig or slot resource. In the data tab, copy the instance number and save it somewhere.

Step 4. Delete both rig and slot resources from your custom bed package.

Step 5. Batch import the rig and slot binaries that you exported from a cloned bed earlier. In both newly added rig and slot resources, replace the instance number you copied earlier. Save the package.

Step 6. Test your updated item!

Simshai91 Buildings Backup Folder ?

Anyone has a backup of all the buildings created by @simshai91 (https://simshai91.tumblr.com)? Mega clears the folders of inactive accounts, and all these buildings are now gone.

does anyone know what may be causing that these boots look extremely shinny on the thumbnail when they don’t actually look like that in game? I already tried clearing it so it generates a new one but it looks the same 🥺 it’s really buggin me lol

Ok, so I’ve been putting this off hoping I’d be able to fix the issues I’ve been having but it turns out my computer is on it’s last legs.

I’m currently having to use my sisters PC to record and edit my YouTube videos because if I do anything that’s more strenuous than browsing the internet on my own it just shuts down.

I don’t have the money to buy a new PC right now because I’ve also been having to pay medical bills for my cat who is quite ill atm.

I hate asking but you guys have helped me out of a bad spot before so I figured I may as well give it a shot. If you guys want to donate to help me get a new computer thank would be amazing and would help me out of a super sticky situation since most of my life is based around my PC.

Hey everyone! My Tumblr ‘desiree-uk Reblogs and Likes’ has been terminated. I don’t know why, I just tried to log into it this morning and I see 'This account has been terminated’. I’m so pissed! There was nothing wrong with it as far as I know. I’m waiting for an explanation from @staff, and hopefully I can get my account reinstated. 7 years of posts and reblogs gone!

With all of the happenings, shenanigans, and goings on over the last... well, several years... we can no longer afford to keep our website up. Since our involvement with the Sims has been steadily fading to ghost levels, we've made the decision to go ahead and shut down all our sites.

Because of this, links here and elsewhere for downloads directly connected to our domain will stop working by THE END OF APRIL.

Project Mediafryer - About GoS

Hey y'all, I thought I'd write a lil update on how on the archiving operation for Garden of Shadows is going.

Let's get one thing out of the way first: we are trying our utmost best to save as much as we can. But as you may know, Garden of Shadows has been around for a very long time, which means there's a humongous amount of cc tucked away in every corner of the forum. This makes archiving the mediafire cc on GoS extremely draining to do.

At this moment we have too few hands (it's mostly I, Fir3princ3ss, @asimplevampire and @simnostalgia ) doing the archiving. It's very slow going and at this pace we will lose a significant part of the cc on GoS to the Purge.

This is why I'm reaching out to ask y'all for help. Please follow the link to this Spreadsheet and pick a section to work on. If enough people help, we can save it all.

Please start as far back as you can. Creators from 2019 may still be around, but those from 2010 may not. When you're done, upload the files to a file host of your choosing and put the link in the Spreadsheet too. This way we can avoid any overlap.

Please. Help us save the MediaFire CC.
