Honestly?  This is definitely a bit of a crackfic that I managed to sneak a reference to plot into, thus making it “part of a series” and not just a proper one-shot like I was half-considering.  (Really, tho, it can def be read on its own w/o context from anything else in the series, so....)  Snippet behind the cut!

John, now far less bleary, feels himself blushing what must be wretchedly red in the cheeks and tips of his ears.

 “No… Nuada, stooooppp.  You know I’m terrible with these things.”

 Now John is beginning to laugh himself, helplessly. Turning over and burying himself into Nuada’s clothed hip and feeling weapon-calloused fingers fondly run through his sleep-mussed hair. But although Nuada can be nice (more-so to John than to almost anyone else, at that), he is, at heart, kind of an asshole.

 So he keeps going; no way is the early-morning roast session anywhere near done yet.

I’m back (I’m pretty sure)! 😑🎉

Had The Virus as a cool new years gift last year (still have some unenviable long haul symptoms-- 0/10 would not recommend), almost lost a grandparent to the Rona as well (which.... he’s not been doing great for a long time, anyway so...), moved out of my mom’s house again because her partner was very badly exacerbating my already shot mental health, and scheduled several procedures I’ve been putting off to deal with some health issues.

Whew!

All that being said, things actually have been looking up for the last few months, overall, since I moved out, so it’s been mostly good things lately. 😊

Mentally, I’m doing better than I have maybe in a couple of years (yeehaw!), I’m actually taking care of my health/actively treating whatever things I can (versus putting them off bc of either finances or lack of motivation), I’ve linked back up with people that care about me that I was isolating from (often purposefully), I really really like my new place, things are going great at work (got a raise and am up for a promotion in the next 2 or so months), and best of all, I’m actually enjoying my hobbies again.

That is, I’m writing fic again. c:<  (And doing re-reads, re-watches, re-playthroughs, and whatever else for pretty much all of my fandoms.)

So!  I actually just banged out my first fic since my Mental Health Swandive of ~ 3 yrs ago, and I don’t entirely hate it.  I’ll probably post a snippet here tomorrow-ish, and finish editing it by the time I head back to work on Wednesday (bc ya girl has a ~procedure~ on Tuesday, babyyyy 😎).

After I can focus on other stuff, I’ll see how expanding into multiple fandoms again feels, in case I only have the energy/brainjuice for one at a time now that I’m ‘rusty’ at creating. hahah

If anybody’s still out there waiting for fic, I think some just might be coming. ;p  Just gotta back into shape so it’s half-decent....

Ironic that when I log back on to Tumblr for the first time in months, that the fandom I’m currently invested in is the one an anon or 2 has sent asks for. #xfilesmusic

Continuing from the post I just made, if all goes well, I might end up posting one of my old ‘what i’m working on’ updates.  That or some fic snippets (from several different fandoms).  So.... keep an eye out this holiday season??

How's it going, DovahDoes? Any plans for writing more of your 'Shall We Not Revenge' series? I know it's been a few months, but I still find myself re-reading both fics quite often, and I'm craving more!

Heyyo!  Just beginning to see the light at the end of a v v long dark tunnel (or maybe I’m just manic. 🤷‍♀️) and have been gently trying to get back into the writing game.  I’ve already re-read The Shining and am about 1/4 way through Doctor Sleep.

No promises, as work is still bonkers/stressful, rn, at my full-time job (what with patients still trying to walk into the office without fucking masks on), and just tiring at my part-time one (bc retail during the holidays is A Nightmare.

But... yeah. My brain is capable of actually deriving a measure of enjoyment/pleasure from my hobbies, again, so I might be back soon? <33  Thanks so much for checking in!  Sorry that I’ve hardly logged on, here, to check my messages. D:

What I’m Working On: May/June 2020

uh.... nothing. lol.

The mental health dice were rolled and turns out that the thing my brain finds most pleasing at the moment isn’t writing fic. 🤷‍♀️

So... playing a lot of WoW, getting as much sleep as my lil chronically fatigued ass can handle.  I’m also *just* now getting back to work on a limited basis.  Which is... not ideal with how little PPE we have and how the amount of patients is iffy at best...

2020 started off with me losing a grandparent and only got worse from there, so it turns out I’m on a hiatus of sorts?  Didn’t intend to be, but my brain does not want to Do the Writing at all.

Sorry folks!  (I do still have enough juices flowing to at least brainstorm new ideas or how to continue old ones, but putting it to ‘paper’ just ain’t happening right now.)
