On Eugene's Name
So I was talking in the Drawfee Patreon Discord about Eugene's name, and in trying to find a source for his name's meaning realised that the source… was me
So in the interest of not keeping that information confined to the Patreon Discord, I'm making this post
Keep in mind this is me relaying things Julia has said in private, and these are my words and not hers!
Eugene is because it sounds like Engine
Finch is because, across different and varied cultures, birds have a connection with the dead. In some, they are psychopomps ferrying souls to the afterlife. In others, they themselves are the souls themselves flying there
So put together, he is a train engine that brings souls to the afterlife
