Ingredients: 1 whole chicken 3-4 lbs. 1/4 cup olive oil. 2 tablespoons paprika. 1 tablespoon garlic powder. 1 tablespoon onion powder. 1 tablespoon dried thyme. 1 tablespoon brown sugar. 1 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon black pepper. Wood pellets for Traeger smoker.
Instructions: Use your favorite wood pellets to heat up your Traeger smoker to 225F. Clean the chicken with water and dry it with paper towels. Take a small bowl and mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. This will make a spice rub. Make sure the chicken is evenly covered with the spice mix by rubbing it all over. Place the seasoned chicken on the Traeger smoker grates that have already been heated. Smoke the chicken at 225F for two and a half to three hours, or until the thickest part of the meat reaches 165F on the inside.
