The fine line between being funny and being a clown
I’ve sinned way too many times by being a clown instead of genuine and funny. In this new era social skills are important. Love it or hate it, if you are decently good at meeting and getting to know people, you’ll have more opportunities. However, in order to do that, it is necessary to learn social skills which in some sense will force you to stretch out your character and personality.
I consider that three important social skills are: to have a genuinely for others, to pay attention and to enjoy yourself. I’m going to focus on the last one: enjoy yourself. Maybe you have noticed that almost everyone prefers people that can be goofy. Something inside us makes us wish to be wanted like that, at least I have felt it. So, we start doing things to make people love us, things that are not genuine. Too often we confuse enjoying ourselves with being a clown. And as I said, I have sin many times doing that, but I’m improving, and I’ve noticed and learn some things that I want to share and that might be helpful to you.
First, it’s not about trying to be loved, it’s about enjoying the limited, flawed, weird, stupid and worthy being you are. That’ is being real. That opens your hearth to connect with others. Just remember a time in which you had so much fun with your friends doing and saying stupid things, that’s how it feels being genuinely goofy. Second, you might have noticed on yourself or others, there is a vibe that fake people projects and that scares. Third, you will always have to fight against that resistance to being vulnerable, it’s a protection mechanism than most often than not, prevent us from enjoying and connecting with people. But remember that it is good to remain reserved, analytic and careful in dangerous and unknown situations.

A simple way stop sugar and junk food cravings
High fat and high sugar (carbohydrates) foods, and even worse a combination of both are our worst enemy when it comes to diet. They are classified as candidates for Food Addiction (Westwater, et al., 2016). I think that this types of highly processed foods are the main reason why we all go out of diet. After all, who couldn’t be tempted by some delicious chocolate cookies, a piece of cake o some donuts? It has been found, in animal studies, that sugar produces enough symptoms to be considered as an addictive substance (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014). However, there is not clear evidence nor adequate experimental designs to measure sugar addiction in humans (Westwater, et al., 2016). But that doesn’t mean that sugar consumption is not a problem. For addiction diagnose, even if there is not an universal agreement for its definition, a substance must present certain characteristics: cravings, tolerance and withdrawal (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014).
Even if sugar withdrawals are less obvious compared with addictive drugs, sweet foods still are the most craved foods (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014). From a personal experience, sugar cravings were the most difficult to fight when I was changing my diet for a one richer in fruits, veggies and fiber. When I asked some friends, they agreed that sweet foods always ruined their diet. The problem is that sugar intake activates our reward system causing an intense dopamine release in animal models (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014) and evidence suggests that it has the same dopamine release effect on humans as alcohol, smoking and drugs do but in a less intense manner (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014 & Avena, 2014). In short dopamine makes us feel really good and reinforces certain behaviors (oversimplifying), in this case, eating badly.
Other problems related to sugar intake are insulin overproduction and gut bacteria imbalance. It is not a mystery that sugar consumption can cause insulin resistance (DiNicolantonio et al., 2014). On the other hand, since highly processed sweet foods are low in fiber, overconsumption can result in changes in gut microbiome that causes degradation of the colonic mucus barrier and increase in pathogen susceptibility (Dessai et al., 2016). Also bad dietary habits can cause other chronic diseases (Yu-Jie et al. 2015). However, it is possible for us to correct our diets, making them more rich in fiber and other healthy foods (Ravella, 2017). It might be the case that the bacterias in our gut can helps us control our cravings.
After all this, here it comes my suggestion about how to stop sugar cravings (Finally! Something useful. Now we are talking bruh). Very simple. Ready? Sure? (Yes, yes, yes!) Ok... STOP CONSUMING HIGHLY PROCESSED SWEET FOODS (Really? You made me read all of this for that?...) I know, sounds very obvious but let me elaborate (ok, I’ll give you a change): It is not only about knowing that you should stop eating sweet foods in order to stop your cravings. Most people know that they shouldn’t waste time or that smoking is bad but that doesn’t automatically makes them stop their bad behaviors, right? it’s about being able to reduce your sweet food consumption and for that you need to change your lifestyle. So yeah, the simple (not easy) right? Stop consuming highly processed sweet foods. Now some practical steps you can take (I heard this from a lot of fitness lifestyle kind of people in youtube and social media and it has helped me):
1. Get rid of sweet foods at home
As the saying goes: “out of sight is out of mind”. The main problem for me was trying to stop eating sweet foods having them available at every moment. A lot of shit we eat contains a lot of sugar and we don’t notice or refuse to(cereals, granola bars, yogurts, some breads, etc.). Since power of will is like a muscle as Baumeister et al. (1998) showed in their famous experiment commonly known as the “Chocolate-and-Radish” experiment (really cool, check it out), you don’t wanna deplete your will muscle trying to avoid eating the bad food you have at hand. You will fail miserably. if you come home hungry and a box of delicious cookies is there to save you from starvation you’ll eat them. I used to.
Note: you can replace bad food with healthier no sugar added versions.
2. Start doing exercise
I have noticed that people always improve their diet when they exercise. Besides not wanting to lose our gains or throw our efferto to the trash, I think that we start eating better when we do exercise because we glimpse for a moment a better way of living. It’s like if we get inspired to be better.
3. Realize that sweet foods are not an enemy
Being honest, no-one wants to live a life without sweets, even if you try, you will revel. I mean, we all want to eat cookies, cakes, cereal and donuts or some traditional sweet foods once in awhile. So I think that it is a good idea to reserve special occasions to eat sweets foods. It’s about balance.
4. Keep going
In two weeks you’ll notices that your cravings for junk food will be enormously reduced.
That’s that. I hope you enjoyed my dear friend that knows how to read. Let me know about your experience trying this or what you think.

Being anxious and afraid it's ok
I'm a very anxious person, so everytime I go out I feel my heart racing a bit. I know that way too many people feel this way. So I wanna share something that has helped me a lot handling this: when I realize that fear, anxiousness and hope were part of the anticipation of novelty I started thinking that yes I was afraid of going out, but I was also excited. So I started to reframe the situation and it worked because deep down I knew it was true. I felt the same way when I was about to fight or perform dancing back in my adolescence.
Another thing that has helped me is to look at other people in the face and in eyes. It works because it makes you focus outside yourself and indicates what other people is up to. In consequence I feel less akward.
Finally, realizing that everyone is insecure about something, not just me, helps me take pressure off me and being aboe to hurt (although I choose not to).
In short:
- Reframe your anxiousness. Focuss on the positive aspects of it.
- Look at other people.
- Realize that everyone it's insecure about something. Have simpaty for yourself and others.

Today I saw a video from RSD Max "Do you wish it was easier to fully be yourself?". It was really inspiring. I love the way he actually acknowledges the fact that each one of us is an individual and it is true, we should embrace that and trascend it.
Obviously, we are flawed in important ways (such as our natural inclination to non-sense violence, greed, etc.) and we sould strive to be better and keep those at bay.
It is not a call to pretend that everything is ok, and we should be happy to who we are right now. It's a call to acknoledge our flaws, fears, akwardness, insuficientcies, our individuality and potential to become better. That's a great call to be.

Sweet jajaja
This episode’s intro has already had so much great stuff, you could almost forget...

…it has freakin’ Batman in it.
And Robin, and Robin’s lack of pants.

After meeting the gang, they find a bouncy clown filled with money, but then…

Batman: “Just as I suspected! Counterfeit!”

Batman: “A masterpiece of duplication, except for one tiny slip-up.”

Robin: “What’s that, Batman?”

Batman: “President Lincoln never wore a turtleneck sweater.”
…ok, I don’t normally give props to the script, but…

…that’s a freakin’ great line.
Deadpan delivery, no laugh track… you get a gold star, Hanna-Barbera.

Wow it is cool that you work hard, keep on with your 100 days. It sounds interesting.

100 Days of Productivity - Day 89/100 May 3rd, 2018
Only 11 Days left of this 100 Days of Productivity 😱! Today was a lovely day - and I was also productive, which is always a plus! I woke up early to work on economics handouts and to read a bit for advanced English. (I’m starting The French Lieutenant’s Wife - So far, it’s fascinating)! Once I got back from school, I worked on my modern history assignment, completed economics homework, and wrote notes on diplomacy and foreign affairs (which was so interesting to learn about). I also made some fabulous funny edits of my friends - because prioritising education and forgetting about your social needs is not healthy. (Balance is very important)! I’ll be waking up early tomorrow to work on an SOR assessment, so that should be good! Have a lovely night everyone!

Why I don't like the "get rich fast" kind of people?
I'm not rich, I am 20 years old biotechnology engineering student. My aim in life is to do something meaningful and of course to be rich (money, friends, family, health). I don't know yet how but right now I am developing my character and skills. That will help me later even if I don't have all the answers.
Being said that... I have seen recently that there is a boom on the internet of videos, posts and other productions of the kind "how to earn a million" or "how to sell $30000 a month in Amazon/ebay" or even "how to sell poop and get rich". I followed those kind of videos for a while and some of them are good, some others lack of ethics and moral. However most of these videos make me feel uncomfortable like if there was something wrong and I did not know what was it then.
It was by taking more responsibility in my life, following people that I admire and reading that I could figure it out... I think that the thing is that most of these videos tell under the surface is: "you don't have to deveope character or master something in life, just do this, sell that, invest in that and you don't have to do anything else". The problem that I see here is that they don't encourage to develop the things that really matters in life like character, values, work ethic, studyin, mastering something, creating new stuff and knowledge. I am not saying that being a merchant is easy or unworthy, I think it is hard and very exciting, but I believe that it is also important to encourage people to be even greater and create the new things and technology that helps people and that people can sell too. As a summary, I do not see as a cool thing to encourage people to do the easy things and an aim only for an easy life. Maybe it is the way in which they share their message, because what they teach kinda is useful sometimes. The right message would be in my opinion: "Lear to earn lots of money so you can keep studing and aim for something higher such as cure cancer, fight poverty, create medicine for the poor, etc. Here is how we do it". Of course, it is easy to say it. I don't do that, I don't know how, but that is the challenge...
Anyway, is just a deep thought.
