You can say all you want that you don’t support her but you’re still giving attention to her work. Marauders is treated as “not really Harry Potter” by some, but I think if you care about queer people you would choose us over a fandom. The art can’t be separated from the artist here because rowling is actively involved in harming the trans community.

hey, this is actually a great point which I absolutely should address. Firstly, just to preface, I am genderfluid and absolutely under the trans umbrella. I know first hand the devistation JK Rowling causes this community, and am hyperaware of my privilege as a trans white person who still is currently able to present as relatively cis in most situations.

I do not, and have not for a few years now, engaged directly with anything that could put money in the pocket of Rowling, no merch, no watching or reading the series, etc. But I completely understand where you are coming from in that I am still technically providing her with a platform by promoting characters that are of her creation. From my point of view for a good few years now these characters have no longer been hers to have, I base all assumptions on the characters off of talented writers and cosplayers that are equally anti-rowling, however once again i DO get what you are saying.

It is my understanding that as a whole the marauders fandom has been a queer safe space from the very beginning and seperate from the Harry Potter fandom for years, but you are right, newcomers may not know the fandom views on harry potter and may not be boycotting like many of us have been. I understand very well that all actions have concequences and that there is a small possibility that a person may engage with my very small blog and be influenced to join the marauders fandom without boycotting and thus fund more of rowlings anti-trans rhetoric, but I am also inclined to bring up what the marauders fandom did for me. This fandom was the place I discovered I was trans but not willing to fully medically transition, and the place i discovered that that was okay, after a while of being caught up in the anti-trans bullshit that has been and remains at large on all media, including JK's own bullshit, it was the marauders fandom in all its beautiful queerness where I felt nurtured and I KNOW that my story is not a one off in the slightest. So many of us were given the space to explore gender and sexuality in this fandom as an act of defiance against rowling and her hate, and If I can reach one person, who was previously attatched to harry potter and now has been made to feel unwelcome in that space, and let them know that its okay to be trans, then I will try to do that.

I know art can't be seperated from the artist with rowling the way it can with other authors, and thats not my aim here. No, my aim is to severe her from this fandom and take it from her by sheer force, because my rights are not her game and neither are the rights of the next generation of kids like me who were raised on these books and will soon learn they've been betrayed by the woman who wrote their childhood favourite books.

I don't support her, I aim to give her no positive publicity, and frankly i hope the mould in her house consumes her slowly and painfully, but if I can use this fandom to make a fellow trans person feel welcomed and appreciated and also piss off rowling at this same time then that is absolutely what I will do.

I found it so cute when authors start their arcane fanfiction with “I am a dumb person trying to write smart people, so there will be lot of avoiding actual science and "it's like this because *:･ﾟ✧magic*:･ﾟ✧” and stuff like this cause I’m an arrogant autistic piece of shit with a special interest on science and biology and even I can’t understand shit about arcane science bc hextech was never scientifically explained and one understand shit about it.

People writing fanfics about arcane: no one understands anything about hextech, ignore it if you want, fuck with it if you want, reinvent it if you’re motivated but never let it tie down your imagination and creativity!

And Sirius couldn't save the first baby he raised but he vows right then and there to do everything in his power to give Harry the childhood Regulus never got to have.
