loneliness doesn’t always feel like sadness. sometimes it’s just an empty chair next to you that you keep looking at out of habit

To take the lesson out of every experience…… to silently forgive people not necessarily for their sake but more so for yours…… to hold yourself accountable but simultaneously view past experiences through a lens of compassion…… to make peace w things you can’t change……. to let people be who they naturally are even if it means losing them… to be okay w people misunderstanding you…. to recognize that things not working out is the universe’s way of protecting you from things or people who were not meant for you…… to be kind and gracious but also to stand up for yourself where necessary…… that is the way to living a happy fulfilling life unencumbered by yesterday’s regrets

Huge shout to my friend from an undergraduate philosophy program who started working out every single day, not for health benefits or to become conventionally attractive or whatever, but because – and this is a direct quote – he was concerned that otherwise he might “become lost in the world of signs and forget the things they signify”. I have thought about this every single time that I’ve worked out since.

What advice you’d give to someone newly entering their 20's?
1. quit taking anything personally
2. be kind without being a doormat
3. your self love must be stronger than your desire to be loved.
4. that lesson will repeat itself until u learn it
5. one out of 4 people that you meet won’t like you. and that’s really OK
6. you owe nothing to anyone on instagram. delete tiktok. trust me
7. don’t force yourself to “like” what u feel you “should like”; trends, ‘good jobs’, someone who ‘ticks all the boxes’, rather than what your soul calls for
8. don’t tell your family everything.
9. don’t tell your closest friends everything.
10. read as many books as you can. knowledge is power
11. 80% of everything is irrelevant

Trying to remember the last time I played hide and seek. The last time I said hi to everyone on the street or saw the girls I spent every day of six years with. The last time my dad picked me up, or my mum brushed my hair. When was the last time I dressed without consideration? There is so much to think about now. I remember falling on the grass at school and making stories with the clouds. Hanging upside down from the swing and realising how big the world was. I wonder on the path of growing when we stop feeling big. I am taller now, smaller still.

every good thing has the inherent sadness about it for when it passes and it will have to pass. everything will have to pass. its all onboarding trains and then watching them go by from train stations and i hope the next thing i love kills me

Maybe you should trust the missed connections, the calls gone unanswered, the opportunities that had every reason to work out but didn’t. Maybe you should trust in the small signs before they become big ones. Maybe you should trust those tiny contractions, the nights that exhaust you and the people who don’t see you and the places that make you feel that subtle uneasiness. Maybe you should learn to trust in what passes you by so you’ll begin to trust in what lands right in front of you. Maybe you should trust that in what isn’t working, because it might be trying to guide you to what will.

Isn't funny how ppl obsess over beauty when Allah gave prophet Yusuf half of the world's beauty and in the Quran only his character is praised. That should really tell us something

مکتوب Its written
And when Abida Parveen said " jo hai tera kab javay ga, kar ke koi bahanaa" ✨
We often hear people saying that:
He/She is not written for me.
But someone poured my heart into words when they wrote:
Yun bhi ho sakta hai ke kisi parinday ko kisi machli se muhabbat ho jaye lekin museebat ye hai ke jaa kr rahen tou kahan rahen?
Kuch aesa hi un logon ke sath hota hai jo aesi cheezon ya insano ki chahat kar beth'ty hain jo un ke liye bani hi nhi hoti. Phir aakhir mai aik ko ur jana hota hai or dusry ko gamon ke samandar mai garq hona parta hai.

مع الوقت ستعرف حكمة الله في كل ما حدث لك
With time, you will come to know the wisdom of Allah in everything that has happened to you
ستعرف أنه كان أرحم بك من نفسك
You will come to realise that He has been more merciful to you than your own self.

I swear to you
if there was any good in it
it would have stayed.
