I just wish people would stop acting like criticism of Islam is islamophobic and that people would stop acting like Muslims in the United States are progressive simply because the majority of Muslims are POC. Here is an article that kind of highlights why it is dangerous for people in the LGBT community to believe that Muslims are their allies because they are horrifically bad when it comes to LGBT rights.

It just seems that a lot of people are trying to make out this one man to be the face of Islam in America when he is far from what the majority of Muslims in America believe. I'm not trying to be islamophobic but at the same time it's just so strange to me that so many LGBT folk on this website will embrace Islam seemingly again because they are POC and somehow are led to believe that one group of religious conservatives is better than another simply because one group is largely POC.

Christian nationalists. Look at Dearborn Michigan 2 years ago. The mostly Arab Muslim population ruled pride flags were to be banned in the town and teenagers were throwing toilet paper and eggs at people's houses who still had the flags out. I really wish people in the LGBT community would stop trying to view Islam as some sort of Ally in America just because it's not white Christianity.

A library manager who worked in the same system I used to was fired today. The reason listed was "poor decision making" after she allowed a COMMUNITY PROJECT which she had no say in, decided to have a book about a trans boy being accepted in his family. A faith based hit group pitched a fit and the director just rolled over and fired a women who had been working at that library for 15 fucking years.

These people won't stop until every single fucking library is nothing more than a Christian book store
