3/? dunmeshi dungeons and dragons au

my last headcannon stuff was in august 2024 but IM BACK AND IM STILL THINKING ABOUT MY BLORBOS

- izutsumi shows up to the session to spend time with her friends but she rolls checks for the enemies the party fights

- she used to fudge the dice in her favor (tipping them to a higher number or lying about what it landed on) but after a long heart to heart she started being a little more honest

+ she doesnt like losing so this was a hard habit to break

- izutsumi tried to play a character in the party, a tabaxi monk perchance, but all of the skills and abilities made her frustrated

- thistle was at one point the party's dm but he was so controlling of the story and characters that they told him they weren't having fun anymore and started their own campaign without him

- senshi can be such a rule of cool guy and everything his character does is typically based in real world logic

+ hes the kind of guy to say "i wanna do this" and when people tell him he cant he starts a debate on how he has done it before

part 2/? dunmeshi dnd headcannons

- theyre all human because its an irl au thing

- senshi plays as senshi. he chose to play as a dwarf because they seemed sturdy

- marcille is playing as an elf because her favorite book series character is an elf (falin also commented that elves seemed cool)

- chilchuck would probably not play as a halfling if given the chance to choose! his character is premade because he doesnt take dnd super seriously but its a nice escape from his day to day routine.

+ laios made his sheet a halfling rogue because the party needed someone with high stealth and halfling rogue is a classic combo

++ laios isnt interested in character pc's all too much which he knows is an issue as a dm but he cant help it

- laios's sessions are VERY dungeon crawl-y and pose different challenges that can be defeated by the different players skillsets

i have some ideas for itsuzumi's character but im not 100% on any of them yet

(part 1/?) here are my thoughts on the dungeon meshi crew as a dnd party (sorry if these have already been said, i just have brainrot)

- the session is hosted at senshi's house because he wants to cook them a proper meal instead of ordering takeout

+this does delay the game sometimes but none of them really mind because they all help out and chat

- their sessions are LONG because laios writes a lot and wants to get a lot of his detail into the session

- laios also tends to go on long rambles about why he chose this monster for the terrain and interesting facts about different creatures and species

+ because of these long rambles he often gives away key information about how to defeat the monster if they are fighting it

++ chilchuck usually enjoys getting this information but marcille always suggests that maybe their characters dont know this so they should do what their characters would do and figure it out

- the party is laios as dm marcille, senshi, chilchuck, falin, and sometimes itsuzumi

- itsuzumi joins to spend time with everyone but often gets annoyed with all the rules and restrictions

- she's the type to cut people off (especially npcs) because she wants to do something that may or may not be possible

- the party meets on thursdays

not to be crude but the people who think Laios is one of those fandom characters that doesnt know what sex is are completely missing like. his whole deal. you think the dude who obsessively studies monster anatomy and behaviors doesn't know what sex is? you think he hasn't memorized the mating rituals of every single goddamn beast under the sun? you think he doesn't have an encyclopedic knowledge on how to fuck? thats his goddamn special interest brother. he knows sex better than anyone on the goddamn planet.

Hey so ynow how in dunmeshi teleporting someone is actually extremely dangerous bc if someone else happens to be where they’re being teleported to, that random person will just. explode. …anyway on an unrelated note, does anyone ever think about how in the very beginning of the story, Falin teleports the entire party to the surface, where people can’t be revived.

Something the youtuber Mother’s Basement pointed out:

-The only human culture Laios takes an interest in is the eastern archipelago

-Laios deliberately named his sword Kensuke, a Japanese name, despite the fact that everyone else in the region and his family all have European sounding names

Conclusion: Laios is a bit of a weaboo

As an autistic monster fucker and a furry (stay with me) I feel confident in saying Laios is not a monster fucker. Laios hyperfixates on monsters like irl people hyperfixate on dinosaurs. Not once have I seen him interested in a monster sexually. He is all about fun facts and recipes.

He is, however, definitely a furry and I'd bet money he's got a fursona and a monstersona.
