Don't you have a problem with people liking Curly?

No I really don’t care if people like him but it does annoy me when people act like he did nothing wrong. I understand why people like him and I think he has some likeable characteristics, but I just can’t get behind the things he does personally.

Edit to clarify more: I dislike the way a lot of people online talk about him because they treat him like the ultimate victim and I just cannot get behind that viewpoint. The version of him that those people like isn’t him, it’s the fanon uwu bean version with so much less complexity. I was frustrated after finishing the game because I went in with the idea that I was going to really love and feel bad for curly since that’s how everyone else seemed to feel and then he was just….. not a very great person. It was a let down and it just made me feel like “really????? THIS was the guy that everyone says is so amazing????”.

What did Curly do?

He refused to take responsibility for Jimmy as his captain and friend and only offered to talk to him when Anya confessed about being raped. He was not willing to take any action against him despite knowing how he is, resulting in everyone getting hurt. He let Jimmy into the cockpit and then acts surprised when something goes wrong. He sat and watched everything happen and THEN decided he wanted to fix things. In the end, he’s just like the mouthwash; Too sweet to effectively eradicate germs. It’s just like Jimmy himself said, “It’ll kill you before anything else”
