A note: The list of readings is not exhaustive. It is only an introduction to the history of the occupation. I know annoying "Desis" are going to see this and bitch and moan about how Kashmir is actually integral to their country out of a sense of colonial entitlement. Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris, the natives, no matter what religion they belong to. Neither Pakistan nor India get to decide the matter of Kashmiri sovereignty. The reasons given by both parties as to why Kashmir should be a part of either nation are bullshit. The United Nations itself recognises Kashmir as a disputed region, so I will entertain neither dumbfuckery nor whataboutism. I highly encourage fellow Indians especially to take the time to go through and properly understand the violence the state enacts on Kashmiris. I've also included links to learn more about Kashmiri culture because really, what do the rest of us know about it? Culturally & linguistically Kashmir differs so much from the rest of India and Pakistan (also the way Kashmiri women are fetishised... yikes). It's not just a bilateral issue between the two nations over land, it actually affects the people of Kashmir

When other Yellowjackets fans, majority who are poc themselves, talk about how weird and frustrating it is that the writers introduced a random yte character and gave them a storyline when there were two (technically three but they killed off Lottie even when there was an opportunity for more) woc, who have been around since s1, that could've fit the mold instead (like Mari) and have actual personalities outside of building up/being the lapdog for another character. Or how often times many of the, limited, poc characters are often either treated poorly and killed off, or pushed to the side (Simone, reduced to the disposable black girlfriend trope and is nearly killed by her partner because she's in the way of a ship; Travis, since s1, had his trauma dismissed or ignored and was overly hated but no one talks about how he was SA'd by the girls he's now stuck with on top of having to eat his brother and not be able to grieve over it). How Taissa's whole storyline is just revolving around Van even with all the potential, especially given she's fighting to be free from her own mind, how Lottie's mental illness is treated so poorly as if it's not the butt of a joke then it's met with heavy criticism (and the only time she is met with sympathy for it, it's through the lens of a yte character embodying her and having an emotional conversation with her father). How you can have all of these reasons (and more) for being annoyed by Melissa's character or the direction of the show, and be met with #those fans downplaying these concerns, or just being overly antagonistic just because they find yte character #243 entertaining so obviously these conversations don't have merit. But this fandom has always had an...."interesting" way in which it discussed the poc characters on the show, so I'm not surprised.
#i was skeptical abt adult van being in story but i had hope that they'd do smth like how it complicates tai's#already complicated life or smth bc why else would u bring van back#and it all turned out to be a nothing burger#tai's storyline being sidelined hurt so much bc she was my favourite character#and now what happened to simone & sammy is happening to lottie#i.e. sidelining/killing bipoc characters to make space for a white character that nobody wanted#all to shock their fans for 5 seconds#all these characters deserved so much better#yellowjackets#yellowjackets critical#yj critical

Hey, oomfies! This Eid, let’s spread some more love to Gaza. Grassroots orgs there are doing incredible work despite the many limitations...getting food, meds, and shelter to families who’ve lost everything. Even a few bucks can make a real difference. Donate the cost of a coffee!

it's devastating to see the aftermath of the israeli genocide on gaza. an entire city that was a home to two million people has been turned into rubble and made into a mass grave for hundreds of thousands of people.
we maintain hope that gaza will be rebuilt. that her people will return and be able to live with some sense of normalcy despite the events of the last fifteen months.
it's just so surreal to see people believe that the fight for a free palestine is over and that we've 'won'. a ceasefire is a very crucial step but it is the first of many steps in the liberation of palestine.
im here to remind you to continue to escalate for palestine until it is free. continue to help in whatever way you can. continue to donate to families who are trying to recover from the horrors they've survived. continue to care for other human beings.
i also request you to donate to alaa's fundraiser and help her give a better life to her children. her fundraiser has been verified.
please donate here

🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Holding onto Hope ❤️🩹
Hi, my name is Mosab, and I just want to take a moment to say thank you. Your kindness, your generosity, and your willingness to listen have meant more to me and my family than I can ever express.
When I first shared my story, I didn’t know what to expect. I was scared, exhausted, and uncertain if anyone would care. But you did. You showed up. And because of you, hope feels a little less distant today.

💛 Our Journey So Far
With your support, we’ve been able to find small moments of relief in the midst of overwhelming hardship. Every donation, every share, and every kind message has given us the strength to keep going.
But our struggle isn’t over. Every day, we are reminded of what we’ve lost and the challenges that still lie ahead.
🏠 Still Searching for Stability: We are doing everything we can to secure a safe and steady future. 😢 The Pain of Loss Never Fades: The absence of 25 loved ones weighs heavily on us every day. 💔 Dreams Still on Hold: Survival takes all our strength, but we still believe in rebuilding.
🚀 How You Can Help Us Keep Going
Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:
💛 A $10 donation may seem small, but to us, it’s a lifeline. 💛 A reblog can help us reach someone who can support us.
If you can’t donate, just sharing this post helps more than you know. Every share is another chance for someone to see our story, to care, and to help.
🙏 You Are Part of Our Story
Your support isn’t just about donations—it’s about reminding us that we are not forgotten. That there is still kindness in the world. That even in the darkest times, there are people who care.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us get this far. You are part of our story now.
With love and endless gratitude, Mosab and Family ❤️

No fucking way are Caitvi shippers happy with this writing right? No way are lesbians happy with this representation? A straight couple that never even took off in the main timeline got a whole episode set in an alternate universe just to explore their relationship and it was cute, tender, romantic, and had the best song in the entire franchise. The lesbian couple gets a rushed sex scene in a dirty dungeon with some generic spicy pop song while both women's characterization are dogshit (so Cait doesn't care that Jinx escaped? Vi isn't worried about Jinx or wants to go after her?) Vi's character is completely disrespected. She is just made to accept Caitlyn fucking Maddie while Vi was suffering through an alcoholic mental breakdown and Caitlyn never looked for her or thought of her. She is made to completely forgive everything Caitlyn did while in power. She is made to brush aside her own sister, friends, family, and home to only focus on Caitlyn. All her brains scooped out and replaced only with Caitlyn. And there are Caitvi fans who are actually happy with this shit? Am I going insane??

......... so anyway. i'm kinda glad arcane had only one (1) season! bittersweet that it ended so soon, but at least it ended on a high note! i'd rather that than the writers potentially fucking it all up, as unlikely as that would seem since s1 was so good. but it would be nevertheless possible! so yeah. one season. just the one. ❤️

Arcane writers: So then Jinx apologetically tells Caitlyn that she didn't know Caitlyn's mother was in the Council room :'(((( because Jinx is good now so that means she feels bad about killing Councilors!!! And she also suddenly has empathy for Caitlyn for reasons!! Then she gives a blatantly suicidal speech to Vi because she's depressed about Isha's death and leaves to obviously go off herself. Vi, who doesn't care about Isha's death at all, somehow interprets this as Jinx being an untrustworthy snake and regrets ever trusting her😡 how dare she refuse to help Piltover right?? So Vi tells her cop girlfriend how right she was about her psycho lying bitch of a sister, then she and Caitlyn start fucking in the same jail cell her sister was just contemplating suicide in. Oh and Caitlyn, who doesn't care that Jinx has escaped prison, reveals she was sleeping with someone else for months while Vi was having an alcoholic mental breakdown. But Vi like a good little trencher with no self respect doesn't mind and is just all about Caitlyn😍😜 Then they have fun playful sex with a spicy pop song playing while Jinx is fucking killing herself lol!!!
Me:
#i fear i may be turning into a caitlyn hater...#arcane critical#arcane#arcane season 2#arcane spoilers

I'm actually not really happy with how this show concluded. Maybe I'll make a more detailed post about it but to sum it up: the way they handled the Zaun / Piltover conflict cheapens this show immensely. This whole "power of friendship" bullshit after Piltover oppressed the undercity for who knows how long and in the end nothing really changed, Zaun still isn't free and Piltover acknowledged nothing of the stuff they did, just annoys me. They lost the plot so bad.
Putting Sevika on the council as the only Zaunite, as if she alone could outvote the Pilties and thinking this is a good ending for the undercity is insane. Zaun should've been free. Or at the very least have an equal amount of Zaunites and Piltover people on the council to even it out.
