One of my reasons for spreading Endometriosis Awareness, is because no one deserves to feel alone when surrounded by family, but somehow millions of women do. When I first started to get really sick, I was surrounded by my loved ones. My parents, my fiance, my friends. However, I have never felt more alone. I was in almost incomprehensible pain, out of nowhere. I was going to doctors constantly, yet had no answers as to why I was sick. I was so scared and confused, being told it was everything from “it’s all in my head” to cancer. I was lost and in increasing pain, but no one seemed to fully believe me. Everyone, literally everyone, thought I was exaggerating, or lying. No one could seem to comprehend what was going on for me. Honestly, I have never felt so deserted. It took having surgery by a horrible, greedy, hack of a doctor, to prove I wasn’t lying. It took that ablation surgery (which made the endometriosis grow back worse) and an infection from it (because that doctor is a piece of shit) to show that is wasn’t all in my head. Endometriosis needs to be talked about! I certainly did not deserve to feel that way, and neither does anyone else! Endometriosis is more common than breast cancer, yet it’s not even checked for at regular exams. No one deserves to go any length of time not knowing why they are in pain. No one deserves to be put down by doctors and loved ones because those around them are ignorant. To feel isolated because of their own bodies. We have to spread awareness! If we get Endometriosis the attention it deserves, we could help millions of women, of all ages! No woman would be forced to feel scared, crazy, or alone. It can lead to dark places. I know what it feels like, trust me when I say it can destroy someone. Please help me. Help get the word out about Endometriosis!

I’m constantly sharing this one. This is one of the best ways to learn to speak and deal with someone with a chronic illness. There really isn’t a difference between us and regular people. In fact, we are regular people. You don’t have to tiptoe around us, we just want the same courtesy you give to someone who doesn’t have an invisible illness. You wouldn’t walk up to a bald man on the street and tell him that you feel bad for him. You don’t tell that the cancer patients. We don’t want pity, we want understanding and patience and love…. just like every other person in this world.

Mostly, my issues are from hormone therapy and surgery. but these ‘cures’ make it visible. …and sometimes don’t even come close to treating the actual problem
