Two Spiders! And with that I conclude 'Spider-Sunday!' I liked this one because I get to show that J is a smol spider.

So for those of you paying attention you'll know that Subject J, the little spider-clone who could, is bonded to a symbiote, Subject Z, to stop her cells from degenerating. Which means, sometimes, said Symbiote just decides 'Nope, bad for host, bad for me. I'm OUT!'

My warm-up for the day is the long lived, defender of humanity. The Lightkeeper. The Phoenix Lord. The God King Teran.

(Technically he's a Demi-God, but, power of the sun in the palm of his hand etc etc.)

Two stable strains of Shadow-Myst are known to exist.

One strain produces lycanthropes, the other, the formidable vampire. These strains never produce shades and exposure to these myst types will always result in another lycanthrope or vampire.

As their numbers can expand rapidly, both of these shadow-kin types are highly territorial.

Points of interest: Lycanthropes mutation has caused them to develop an allergic reaction to silver. Sunlight will not burn a lycanthrope as it does other shadow-kin, but rather revert it back to a human form. Reverted lycans have been known to beg for death rather than turn again once nightfall comes.

Vampires similarly have developed an allergic reaction to garlic. Vampires are particularly susceptible to sunlight, combusting on contact with it. Vampires retain at least human level intelligence after they have turned making them capable of strategy and cunning. The older a vampire becomes, the more powerful it will become.

Both of these shadow-kin are known to hunt in the northern regions, with the vampires sticking to the mountainous areas and the lycans haunting the forests.

Realising that sending flesh and blood soldiers against Shades was an ideal way to increase their number, an alternative had to be found.

The answer? Magically infused combat golems known as Purgers.

These Purger units can generate some basic offensive magic spells and what they may lack in over-all durability, they more than make up for in fire-power and numbers.

On very rare occasions exposure to Shadow-Myst results in a Shadow-Kin.

Should the infected individual survive the, often painful, transformation, they gain what can only be described as super-human abilities.

However, Shadow-Myst will continue to devour the non-myst cells. The only way to offset this is to consume other humanoids.

Should the infected refuse to do this, they will eventually become a Shade.

Some however embrace this lifestyle, revelling in the powers they have been granted.

Remember to report any and all Shadow-Kin sightings to your local Purger office immediately.

A bit of world building today.

Shades. Shades are the most common outcome of a human body being exposed to Shadow-Myst.

Essentially a Myst filled corpse, and driven by an instinct to feed, a Shade will attack any living creature.

What's worse is if one survives an encounter with a Shade, any bite will mean the victim is infected with Shadow-Myst and will soon face a similar fate.

There is no cure for a Shade.

The most important thing to remember about Shades is this: Where there is one, there are many.

I recently got to look at some of my very first Reim artwork and thought I'd try bring his design back towards what teenage me had in mind.

I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
