Front load the message with info necessary for calling you back. For ex:

"hi this is [name, mb spell ur surname], reachable at [preferred phone #, mb your email/business socials AFTER, but definitely the #] calling about [whatever the hell u need idk]. Again, this is [name], thanks!"

-definitely spell ur name if ur asking for someone to find u in a database/paperwork (ie medical records)

-definitely frontload the name/# if it's not guaranteed you'll be called back/ur calling a slow/complicated office (ie 2 b hired/ur checking smthn gov-run; make urself easy)

-if it was a long/detailed message, definitely repeat ur name, & mb repeat ur #/plus a quick tl;dr of what u want (saves spoons for the message listener, + increases likelihood a receptionist will jot a note for a Dr/etc in YOUR words)

I instinctually start sketching left-facing, 3/4 angle portraits, at a v v slight upward tilt. I think most of that’s habit, but I also plan illustrations with most of the #stuff pointing left/existing in that half of the canvas, so could also b a right-handed thing.

5. Estimate of how much of your art you post online vs. the art you keep for yourself

Maybe 50/50? Cyclically intend to post only horny art on this acc, bc I figure that’s what yall care 2 see, but keep sharing other stuff I’m Into ATM. Like outfit sketches, or that album cover. oops ig?

top tier portrait drawing tips!

since I’ve gotten some asks abt how I approach drawing faces, gonna recc Proko on YouTube, specifically

this pair of process videos (thumbnails above)!

They’re 50/50 speeddraws and instructional vids; I love & rewatch them regularly, bc the artist really nails what I’m also going for with my portraits: semi-realism, & instead of shading/smudging/using grey tones, the faces are graphic/linear/shaded with hatching, like an inked drawing.

shape & stroke design comes after u get the foundationals down, tho, & 2 that end I would also recc Proko. the artist running it was formally/art school trained, and has more technical vids for anatomy/etc., and sets up a lot of guest lessons from a variety of masters/professionals.

While you can pay for full length versions of the lessons & interaction/critique from the teachers, the free videos populating the YT are really good!! The channel’s been up for years, and they’re still not bait, and they cover their subject briefly but completely. Big recc for a) broke bitches wanting to self-teach, and b) haters of the hard-sell borrowed from corporate-model trickery, who want 2 support chill shit!
