hey guys! I wanted to let you guys know that I’ll be in the hospital for a while starting thursday. last week I found out I’m relapsing from AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). I was cancer free for the last 2 and a half years until now. luckily we found the cancer cells a lot earlier compared to my first diagnoses. back then, my bone marrow was nearly full of cancer cells. right now there’s only about a handful I think. 2.5 years ago, I didn’t get the bone marrow transplant I needed, but I’m getting it this time around. it’s a pretty scary time for me, I’ll be updating my snapchat story ( @ generall.y ) if you guys want to keep up with me. I’ll also be on my instagram a lot ( @ short9irl ) thank you <3

Whats the difference between appreciating and appropriating? Is white person dancing a salsa appropriation? Is a white person eating exotic foods appropriation? Jw
o boi i never got the notification for this damn. appreciating a culture is just respecting it without copying it or trying to be a part of it. it is what it is; appreciation. you can appreciate something without being it. and appropriation is when people copy traditions, cultures, etc, making culture seem like a costume and trying to look like someone of a culture. it’s extremely disrespectful and wrongly portrays cultures. eating chinese food for example isn’t appropriation. the only way it would be considered appropriation in a way would be if someone took a chinese dish and gave it an american title and claimed it to be an american food. which would be dumb. as long as you aren’t claiming something from another culture to be yours, and as long as you aren’t copying or trying to look like another ethnicity and what not, then it’s fine. appreciating is ok, appropriation is not. this was a little sloppy of an explanation but maybe it helped. :-)

1. you can appreciate without appropriating
2. we can represent our own culture and share it with other ourselves without ur crusty appropriating ass doin it for us
(3. just because ur poc friend doesnt mind doesnt suddenly make it ok)

there’s this crazy, antifeminist, homophobic, misogynistic, douchebag named Daryush Valizadeh. he’s planning to gather all his followers and plan attacks on women.
Here are the instructions Valizadeh had for his supporters:
“To identify your fellow tribesmen, ask the following question to a man you suspect is there for the meetup: “Do you know where I can find a pet shop?” If you are asked this question, answer in the affirmative: “Yes, it’s right here.” You can then introduce yourself and get details about where to proceed at 8:20. If you ask someone for the pet shop and they appear confused or actually try to direct you to a real pet shop, they’re not there for the meetup.”
LISTINGS OF WHERE THEY WILL BE MEETING UP!!! BE CAREFUL

im gnna put this out here as a little reminder. if someone asks you to do something, you need to ask yourself first whether you want to do it or not. if the answer is no, you don’t want to do it, then don’t do it. if the other person can’t accept that you don’t want to do it, then they’re not worth it :-)thank you
