Erica Desai - Maintaining a Positive Attitude
Erica Desai is a driven and dedicated young healthcare professional. At just twenty-four years old, she already works in the heart care center of one of the nation’s top hospitals in Richmond, Virginia. In addition to her work at the hospital, she also spends much of her time volunteering with organizations such as BAPS. She is known for her fun and friendly disposition, and works very hard to achieve her goals and keep advancing in her career. She credits her positive attitude to her success at work.
Staying positive all the time can be very difficult, so Desai has developed many strategies to help her. Something that Desai finds very helpful is journaling. Every day, she takes an inventory of how she is feeling, and writes down both the things that have been making her happy, as well as the things that she has found challenging or upsetting. She then comes up with a plan for dealing with these difficult situations. By thinking in-depth about her actions and her feelings, Desai is able to focus on her goals in a productive way, instead of avoiding potential problems or getting discouraged.
Desai also finds it helpful to keep her inner monologue positive. This can be very difficult if you are used to being hard on yourself, but with practice it can uplift your mood and help you feel more confident as well. Erica Desai frequently uses motivating self-talk to get her through difficult situations, and she highly recommends this strategy to others.

Erica Desai - Maintaining A Balanced Diet
Erica Desai is a healthcare worker living in Richmond, Virginia, with an interest in cooking and baking as well as staying fit and healthy. She loves to experiment with new recipes and ingredients, and tries to maintain a very diverse and balanced diet full of essential nutrients. She also loves to cook and bake for her friends, and frequently hosts dinner parties. Since Erica is very health conscious, she pays attention to all of the nutrition facts for the food that she buys, and has learned how to stay fit while still enjoying great food.
There are three essential components to food that everyone needs in their diet: carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Nutritionists differ on exactly what percentage of each you should include in your diet, and every person has different nutritional needs. The general recommended range is around 55% carbs, 20% protein, and 25% fat per day. Everyone also has essential vitamins and minerals that they must consume every day. Nutritional labels tell you how many of these vitamins and minerals your food contains, and how much you need to hit the recommended daily amount.
There are also certain food elements to avoid in any diet. Many Americans have an extremely high sodium intake, which is not ideal. It is also very important to avoid certain types of saturated fats, as these have no nutritional value. It also is crucial to monitor your sugar intake. By keeping track of your nutrients as well as cooking your own healthy food, you can stay in great shape, like Erica Desai.

Erica Desai - Why Preventative Healthcare is Important
Tumblr media
Erica Desai is a professional healthcare worker based in Richmond, Virginia. She works in the heart care center of one of the nation’s top hospitals, and loves helping others and keeping them fit and healthy. Desai has always been passionate about a career in healthcare because it gives her the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and because it is interesting and exciting on a daily basis. Desai truly believes in the importance of preventative healthcare by getting regular physicals, having tests done as needed, and generally maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent injury or illness. Desai herself cooks her own healthy meals, and also exercises several times per week. She finds that these activities help her feel strong and energetic.
It is extremely important to visit your general practitioner on a regular basis. Checkups may seem unnecessary when you are healthy, but they can actually be a great opportunity to pinpoint future problem areas with your health, and find ways to prevent serious issues before they actually happen. Your doctor can perform the appropriate tests to keep you healthy based on your age and gender, and also give you crucial health advice that you may not have realized you needed.
It is also important to get immunizations and vaccines for yourself and your family. These shots prevent horrible diseases and are quick and easy to have done. While many vaccine preventable diseases, such as measles and mumps, are very rare now, they still exist, and failing to vaccinate your children may lead to an outbreak, which can put not only your family but also everyone else around you at risk.
Work with your doctor to develop healthy habits that are best for you and your lifestyle. Try to maintain a healthy diet that involves all of the key food groups, and take vitamin supplements as needed. Find a workout routine that you enjoy and that fits well into your schedule, whether that be going for a run every morning, playing a game of touch football a few times a week with friends, or attending a regular yoga or Pilates class. Regular exercise is a great way to ensure that you are continually burning calories, and it also keeps your bones strong and your muscles toned. Since it can be difficult to stick to a healthy lifestyle at first, find ways to stay motivated to achieve your goals. Give yourself small rewards for hitting important milestones, like a week of exercising every day, for example. Over time, it will become easier to maintain this healthy lifestyle without too much effort, like Erica Desai.

Erica Desai - Essential Spring Fashion Pieces
Erica Desai is a young professional living in Richmond, Virginia. She works in the healthcare field and also volunteers regularly, but she also has many hobbies and interests, including shopping. Desai loves to look good and find exciting new pieces to incorporate into her wardrobe. Each season, she peruses boutiques and shopping malls, both around Richmond and online, to find high-quality new clothes that strike a perfect balance between trendy and practical. Desai has a sense of style that is classy and sophisticated, but also fun and colorful.
One of Desai’s favorite styles for the upcoming spring and summer months is the romper/jumpsuit. These one-pieces are a great way to stay comfortable while still looking chic – a properly fitting romper feels just like wearing pajamas! They can also be styled in many different ways for a variety of different occasions – a classic black lace jumpsuit can be worn with heels and a deep red lip for a formal event, or you can wear a brightly colored short romper with Converse for a casual weekend outfit. They are also a great choice for an event where you need to look trendy, but you also plan on moving around or being active.
Tumblr media
Another great trend for the upcoming season is flared jeans. This popular cut from the 1970s is making a comeback, and they look great in many different washes, from a laid-back baby blue to a more classic navy. These jeans look good with many different types of shoes, from heels and wedges to sandals to low-top sneakers. They also elongate the legs and are a very flattering cut of jean on nearly anyone.
Floral midi dresses are another fun trend for spring that look great on nearly anyone, no matter your body type or height. Midi dresses hit at the mid-calf, and come in many different cuts and styles. This longer look is modest and elegant, but the floral print of these dresses make them more fun. A long flowing skirt is a surprisingly great choice for a variety of different occasions, from cocktail hour to weekend brunch to an outdoor social event with friends.
For accessories this season, long statement earrings have been making a comeback. Wearing long earrings makes the neck appear slimmer and longer, and they are the perfect dramatic complement to any outfit. For a really bold look, statement earrings can be paired with matching bracelets or necklaces. They also are a great way to glam up a simple outfit, or add some pizzazz to your look when you have a bad hair day.
Erica Desai loves to shop, and she is looking forward to picking up some of these essential trend pieces for spring this year.
