This lurid red curtain had appeared here a week ago
I went there to check what's behind. My palm moved the veil and I was thunderstuck with stairs I haven't seen here before. Probably the cheapest, blackest, curliest I've ever seen. I went upstairs, but couldn't spot any shape through this eerie darkness. The walk was taking miles, but ultimately it ended like a cigarette on the shift you don't wanna be at. Suddenly I spot her ominous, sinister, ghoulish, disgusting and fake smile. She talked to me for 5 years, but eventually said nothing particular. I left decapitated and soul drained. #escaperoom #escaperoomgothic

Our friend took a few days off to leave the city.
She's been gone for a month, no one's heard of her since she said she missed a train over two weeks ago. We've been finding her things all around the escape rooms. One of the clients fond her name written on the mirror, we lied that It was part of the story. It's nice to feel her presence at least, even if she's no longer with us.

There is a strange, new person in our crew.
He doesn't talk. He doesn't move. He... hovers. We never say anything if we don't have to. He fits in perfectly.

We found a weird red-ish stain
in a place we haven't noticed it before. We assumed it was beetroot soup. We can only assume

You went to wash your hands before eating.
When you glance sideways, you see a shoeprint on the toilet seat. It wasn't there before. It looks too big to belong to any of your friends. The ceilling above it is dirty, you should probably tell your bosses to repaint it. You hope that noises in the walls won't be too loud tonight.

A bachelor party comes late again.
They laugh in a drunken manner and ask you for a favour. You clutch the expired pepper spray as the 2 meters tall man hovers over you and your even smaller co-worker. He hands you alcohol. You exhale, but there is something hungry in his stare. You rush through the rules and lock them in their room.

The bosses are absent again.
You try calling, but the call bounces back to your reception phone. Where did they go? You have no idea. You never do. You just accept it and start doing their job.

The radio keeps playing one song on repeat.
You ignore that and joke about ghosts. None of your co-workers is worried either. You just accept that. It's time to start thinking about a name for it.

You are cleaning up the last room, hearing a rummage in the walls
and water splashing above the ceilling. You joke about rats, but you finish up quickly and run up the staris, child-like fear building in your stomach. You don't want to deal with the walls tonight.

"Head!"
You yell out to your co-workers that day. You watch in anticipation as the escape room group screams in fear of a jumpscare. You bare your teeth in a grin. You all do. That's the only thing to look forward to each day.

There has been a storm
during the busiest hours on a Saturday. We were being flooded, water leaking over the walls and from under the doors. The clients were amused while we were trying to stop the flood. It's as if they were hoping we would fail and stay trapped inside with all of them, no way out while the power goes out.

You've been called by your co-worker downstairs. You see an empty hole where a crate was supposed to be. It is bent beyond your understanding. You wonder what happened. Could it be the flock of girls dressed in skirts? Could it be that they ripped this construction with their claws, using too much of carefully hidden strength? They say they don't know what happened. But you know better than to trust these sweet voices.

We've been writing down our stories for a while now. Anyone at work can do it, we all have the password and a lot of spooky stuff happens. But that post from yesterday? We don't know who posted that. It was quite good though, let's hope they keep going.

The new escape room has been in the works for over a year. It wasn't supposed to take that long, everyone kept joking about a curse keeping us from finishing it. It seemed funny, the curse, even after the accident, the hospital visits, the power shortage, all connecting to the room.
We were testing it yesterday, but no one jokes about it anymore. We should have accepted it sooner, but we can't ignore it anymore. Whatever inhabits the room does not want people in there.

the sound of the walls today was more unsettling than usual. they sounded... extraterrestrial. as if a foreign being crawled through the pipes, waiting for the last customers to leave to roam freely through the rooms. you leave wondering if pepper spray works on aliens.

The police is on the other side of the street again. The blue lights reflect from the window as you see a rough looking man being escorted to the police car. You lock the doors. It became a habit now.

You stare at the monitors before you. Cameras flicking on and off in a room no one has been in for hours. You wonder if the motion sensor is telling the truth.
