I'm not gonna lie when I say this guy's head was a huge pain in the ass and an.. interesting engineering challenge. Could I have simplified it? Yeah probably, but I'm not a coward. I tried to keep it as close to his in-game model as possible.

Build Your Own Minos tips under the cut

(I'm also going to upload the patterns for the V's and ferryman at some point I promise, I just need to remake them out of white paper instead of packing paper and get access to a scanner </3)

I don't really feel like an exact pattern is necessary for this guy because I just fiddled with some basic doll patterns for his body and then slapped on some snakes. The head's a lot harder, but I can walk through the process even if I can't give an exact pattern.

The rough draft (Greenos) does a better job showing how this guy is put together:

For the base shape, I did a sort of extended hemisphere with a flat top, like this: (I can probably get a pattern for this part if anyone wants the exact one I used, lmk)

The 'face hole' indent was done with thread sculpting. You do want to be careful with this part that you keep the fabric as even as possible or it looks kinda ugly like Greenos up there. When you do that, you end up with something kind of like this:

I then just hand-sewed an identical 'back' head piece and added some stuffing to pad out the squarshed-ness. Once this basic shape is done, you can sew on a circle of black fabric. I did some additional thread sculpting at the end to squish the sides of his face in more so he wouldn't be so... wide. (compare Greenos to final Minos)

For his 'crown' I cut out individual pieces of foam, traced the net of the surface of each one onto my fabric, and hand-stitched it on to create my perfect white little trapezoidal prisms. This is why I can't give a good pattern for this part, you have to be very specific to the dimensions of your individual foam pieces. It takes a while but it's really satisfying tbh
