New Tumblr.

When I mention I’m planning on obtaining my personal trainer certification this summer, people are like “Oh, that’s cool. What are you going to school for again?” I respond that while I’m focusing in different areas, I ultimately want to work in health. To be more exact: in nutrition and eventually become a dietitian. “Oh, wow…that’s different. I couldn’t do it.” Or.. “Why that? No one reeeeally wants to eat healthy.” Those are the usual responses. People always ask, “Why not something else?” Here’s what I have to say to that. I’m choosing to become involved in nutrition and personal training because of my love to help others and my love to push others to succeed and my love to see people live. I’m choosing these paths because when you’re a 14 year old girl who loses her dad because he’s diabetic, overweight, no will to move and his body ultimately defeats him, you feel like you’re worthless because you couldn’t help. I’m choosing this because when you’re an 18 year old woman and a very close friend dies in severe pain because of diabetes and cancer and has trouble moving around, you feel absolutely helpless. I’m choosing to do this because I refuse to see people give up on their bodies and minds. Because I can’t stand it when people don’t care. I want to do this so you can live healthier. Live stronger. Live longer. I don’t want someone to go through what I have to experience the pain that I feel. Don’t tell me that what I’m doing isn’t worth it. Because “it” isn’t just “it.” “It” is you and me and everyone else.
