Robin let out a loud laugh at him singing the jingle. “See? No one would take me seriously!” She grinned wildly. “Home is Maysville Kentucky. I doubt you’ve heard of it, it’s a super small town. But that’s just for me. What about you? Where are you from?”

“Yuuuum” He said, unable to resist saying the restaurant’s jingle then chuckled, “Okay you’re right, even I wasn’t able to resist. “Oh, where’s home? If you ever do a gig here let me know about it, I’d love to hear you sing.”

Robin twitched at yet another jab, but could tell that the other girl was losing interest in tearing her down. Thank god. “I’ll pay more attention, mom. Don’t worry about me. You can go ahead and head back to the dorm for whatever. I have things to do anyway.” Robin couldn’t push herself to give a smile back to Math.

“Nope, just casually strolling toward our dorm,” she shrugged, purposefully blasé. “Hm, and did you see me run while you were on your phone or?” she took another jab at her, but her words were somewhat lacking vigour this time; truth was, she really, really wanted to talk to her family and know how the hospital appointment had gone. “Cool,” she commented unenthusiastically. “Well try not to be too distracted and run into other people, will you? This conversation is captivating, really, but I can think of a couple of things I would rather do,” she smiled without genuineness.

Robin let out a laugh. “I could but I have a feeling people would think of the restaurant rather then a musician.” She would casually toss an item in the bag when she found one. “Sometimes. I did gigs back at home at bars and stuff but nothing major. I wasn’t very popular. I’ll try to start doing gigs again though.”

“You could pull a Tim Drake and become Red Robin.” Kon thought he was pretty alright on the snack front and stopped throwing things in the basket, instead just waiting for her to get her fill. “Do you like play shows and stuff?”

TEXT → LEILA & ROBIN
Leila: Just staying a fact in the most innocent manner possible O:-)
Leila: It's cheesy but I kind of want to go to like Hard Rock Cafe? I know they're not super unique to New York but I've heard the one here has Britney Spears stuff in it :-p
Robin: Uh huh. Sure. XP
Robin: I've never been there before. Any kind of food sounds awesome though.

Leila: Sorry, you'll get used to me thanking you for weird things eventually :-p
Leila: DID I EVER TELL YOU THAT FOR THE LONGEST TIME I THOUGHT SMH WAS SO MUCH HATE AND NOT SHAKING MY HEAD?
Robin: Eventually.
Robin: Omg, that makes so much sense why you would think that. I had no idea what rotfl meant for the longest time.

Robin flushed in embarrassment and looked away. “Right, of course. That was a stupid question, sorry.”

Jack scratched the back of his head and shrugged. “Well, the point of a dark room is that it’s… dark. You can’t really see much. Gotta eliminate light leaks and stuff, otherwise it fucks up with your photo.”

“Thank you.” Robin nodded humbly. “Yeah, I hear the book is pretty great! What class are you reading it for?”

“That’s cool, I guess. I’m not musically inclined, so props to you.” She said with a quick raise of her brows, still pretty indifferent to the interaction they were having. “Yeah, it’s good. I don’t think I’ll hate writing papers on this one.”

“That’s pretty interesting.” She remarked. Part of her felt bad that she kept repeating herself but she didn’t know how else to put it. “Hey, you said you were going to a dark room. Do you think I could come and watch you develop pictures! It sounds so cool to see.”

“Thanks.” He said, stowing his phone back in his pocket, a bit uncomfortable by the praise. It wasn’t as though he was great– he had a lot to learn before he’d consider himself great. But, there was potential. “I just like putting the camera on things that no one else notices.“

Robin was definitely red in the face now. She couldn’t tell what made her more mad, the fact that this girl took a stab at her any chance she could or that she was right. “No, hurry? Gee, I could have sworn you were running? Just excited?” Robin had a hard time keeping her voice steady. She twitched at the extra stab at her being distracted. “I was just...” She trailed, trying desperately to think of something. She actually didn’t have a destination she was just pokemon hunting. “I was headed to the roof.”

“Says the girl who dropped her phone when she ran into me,” Mathilde raised an eyebrow incredulously, her expressions clearly stating that she had better to do than to argue about such frivolous and obvious matter. “Since you so kindly asked,” her smile was dripping with sarcasm, “I was headed to my dorm.” She paused, before letting out a sigh and rolling her eyes: “Our dorm. See? No hurry going on here.” She was lying, but she was too used to it for the lie to be obvious. “Where were you headed so distractedly?” Mathilde didn’t really want to know the answer (what she wanted was to get back to her dorm and call her family) but she couldn’t help but grab the opportunity to call Robin distracted again.

“I mean, the plan was to use my regular name but I mean. A stage name could be pretty cool. I would have no idea what kind of name to use. I’d have to brainstorm.”

“Oh, sorry I just understood you wrong. Sia’s cool and that’s cool. Are you gonna use your real name or like a stage name. If you use your real name you’ll have to go first and last name because I’m pretty sure there’s a singer named Robyn, just a different spelling.”

Leila: ...I can't even argue with the one upping there because you're right, you're so right. Thank you, I needed to hear that.
Leila: Idk, #tbt is pretty short :-p Although omg it took me a while to figure out what it meant until I finally stumbled across someone who tagged #tbt and #throwbackthursday
Robin: No problem?
Robin: Exactly! We need to be clear with our hashtag. I can't follow these anagrams. I feel old.

Leila: You know some people use horror movies as an excuse to snuggle closer to you and "keep you safe" :-p
Leila: What stuff in the city have you been wanting to see, that you haven't yet? #stillbitterFAOSchwartzisgone
Robin: Leila, are you implying something?
Robin: Hm, I'm not sure. I haven't seen much since I've been on campus all the time so I'll see anything.

Leila: Just like in general, I technically don't "like like" anybody either. But everyone's got favorite people they've met :-p
Leila: Anything can be an adventure if you decide it is! But I'm also happy to help you fix that, if there's anything you wanna do.
Robin: I mean, as I said. Benji is pretty nice and me and Konnor watched a bunch of horror movies together.
Robin: I mean, I don't usually go on adventures but I'm not opposed to one with you.

Leila: #awesomehairgirls. Is that too long to be a good hashtag?
Robin: Ignorance is bliss most of the time.
Robin: All of the best hastags are long. #leiandrobin #awesomehairgirls. It's perfect, it'll be trending by morning.

Robin observed the pictures thoroughly. She grinned up at him. “These are awesome. You really have an eye for this stuff. I love the the last one. It’s so...they’re great!” Robin couldn’t put the words together. She wanted to get out a notepad and write some stuff down. This kind of stuff was what inspired her.

“I got a few pictures on my phone.” He said, pulling his android out of his pocket. With the number of people asking to see it, he had taken to keeping a few on his phone. “Here.” Jack said, pulling up a few shots. They featured a crumbling bridge, overgrown with ivy and various crawling plants and had a nice ray of sun coming through the treeline to the right of the bridge.
