The Fool.
My revenge on @fallenaither.
Void attacked me with such a wonderful Vasya as the Hanged Man, I was instantly inspired to fire back at it with some tarot Apollyon! And the Fool felt fitting. With a splash of the Tower in the background.
#bug fables#bug fables oc#oc: apollyon#others art#IM STILL SO GRATEFUL FOR THIS BY THE WAY!#It’s literally my phone background right now I get so happy when I see it.#I’m glad you like the attack on Vasya! ^-^

[VIDEO AND PHOTOS TAKEN: JUNE 27TH, 2025 | Video and Image IDs: A video and two photos of a beige/brown cicada fresh out of the ground, about to molt. In the video, it crawls across a human hand, trying to find a good spot, while in the photos it's perching momentarily on a wood post. /End IDs.]
Found this little guy, right on the verge of adulthood, on the ground, just getting ready to find a spot to molt! I had to get my dog away from it because the only reason I noticed it was because she was sniffing at it curiously! Spent the next 20 minutes trying to find a spot that it liked where I could watch it molt, until finally...
youtube

[VIDEO AND PHOTOS TAKEN: JUNE 27TH, 2025 | Video and Image IDs: A 15 minute long video and six photos of the cicada shown above, now on a white woven plastic tarp. Over the course of the video, the cicada molts, revealing a soft, grey, brown, and mint green exoskeleton as several angles are shown. The images show further progress, one just before the beginning of the video, the cicada partially through its molt; the next three right after the molting process, showing its wings at partial, but not full, extension; and the final two showing it much later in the night, still in the process of hardening, but much darker now than before as it reaches the end /End IDs.]
It molted! It decided it liked this tarp, and allowed me to watch the process unfold! It started molting maybe 5 - 10 minutes before I started filming and finished about 10 minutes after I stopped filming as well (I don't have a good setup for holding my phone in place so I was quite literally standing there for 15 minutes before I reluctantly tapped out), before proceeding to spend most of the rest of the night hardening up in that spot!
#bugposting#cicadas#insects#bugs#Such a fascinating thing.#Cicadas always look so pretty to me before they’ve had their shell harden.#The wings especially!

THEY FOUND THE WHITE WITCH CATERPILLAR! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

For context: the white witch is one of the contenders for the largest moth in the world (biggest *wingspan*--loses to the atlas in terms of wing surface area, and loses to the regal for weight). It has a huge range, and the adult is fairly common.
But no one had ever seen a caterpillar. At all. There were only guesses as to what it might look like and what it ate. until this year. These are some of the first images ever taken of it!!

I hate to go through this all over again. Last night, Itch.io, one of the most popular platforms for hosting queer and adult independent media, went through a large-scale crackdown on adult content.
This was primarily aimed at games, but novels and comics were hit in the process. Most adult content has been de-listed from the site's search, but some creators were banned without warning, and any funds they have not been paid are currently being withheld by Itch.io.
This crackdown was done, as it always is, because of payment processors threatening to pull their services.
The payment processors caved to an influence campaign by Australian extremist anti-pornography group Collective Shout, who have been inundating Visa and Mastercard with calls to force video game platforms to stop hosting adult content - which, of course, includes anything queer.
Collective Shout claim to have sent in 1000 emails to get this result, but there are a WAY more than a thousand of us. We need as many people as possible to make as much noise as we can!
Below the cut are numbers and scripts, all you need to do is follow the step by step guide!

Customer Complaint Dept, This message is to lodge an official complaint about the ongoing rampant restrictions your company has placed on legal sales made by legitimate businesses. These restrictions are not only counter to the concept of freedom of speech and expression, but they harm consumers, businesses, and they harm your company’s bottom line. The following actions are absolutely necessary to protect the freedoms of your client base and the sustainability of legitimate business practices: 1. Remove from your Terms of Service any mention barring the use of your service for sale and purchase of legal products. 2. Contact Steam (Valve), Itch.io, and any other company you have previously put pressure on to retract your content restrictions. Put in place protections to prevent such restrictions from being put in place in the future without ample warning and time to contest them. If these changes aren't made then I, along with many others will be forced to seek other options for processing payments. Sincerely, A Concerned Customer

OTHER THINGS YOU CAN DO
Sign this petition from the ACLU
Americans - contact your representatives about payment processors acting as censors! You can find their contact information on 5calls.org.
Script, from here:
Hello Representative/Senator [LAST NAME], -or- Hello office of Representative/Senator [LAST NAME], My name is [YOUR FIRST NAME/SCREEN NAME] and I am one of your constituents. I am calling today to express my concerns with technological censorship. Legal and legitimate adult entertainment is being banned in this country. These bans are not by legislators, but by payment processors like Mastercard and Visa. Mastercard and Visa are improperly creating legislation online through their user and merchant policies. They are banning creator and user access to content that is legal and legitimate. They are inciting fear and panic to encourage censorship. Please take a stand against this impermissible censorship. This is a direct attack on an adult's right to legal content. No one but the legislative branch should be allowed to create legislation. Please support the Federal Trade Commission in their stand against technological censorship to protect the first amendment. Thank you for taking the time to listen today.

Just to clarify, there's a bill that would STOP credit card companies from controlling who's allowed to spend money on porn or "risque" (read: queer) content. If you don't think big business should be able to tell you what to spend your own damn money on, call your senators and reps to let them know! It's the Fair Access to Banking Act, H.R.987 in the House, S.410 in the Senate.

Haven’t have the chance to post any polished art because I’ve been putting all my time into artfight, but my oomf suggested an au where Leif lived long enough to meet his kid and. yeagh. he would have hundreds of pictures of him in his wallet
#bug fables#bug fables spoilers#leif bug fables#others art#This is very cute but also deeply tragic idea and it’s great.#Like imagine you get trapped in a cave and wake up and your child is suddenly older than you are.

what makes a hawkmoth a hawkmoth? what makes it distinct from your standard Moth?
Hawkmoths:
So, hawk moths are specifically members of the family Sphingidae. Many members of this family are also called Sphinx Moths.
(With some species' common names, Sphinx moth and Hawk moth may used interchangeably.)
The adult moths and their caterpillars are medium to large sized, for moths.
They are usually strong and agile flyers.
They usually have very aerodynamic, stream-lined bodies, and narrow wings, which aid their speed and agility.
They have relatively thin antennae.
Most species do not have hearing organs.
The body and wings have a dense covering of scales.
Compared to most moths, the caterpillars of this family are more specific with their diet (many other moths are generalists).
Sphingidae is a distinct evolutionary lineage, as are all "families".

Shout out to all the Black ppl that can no longer participate directly in the fandom they love because of the stresses of racism 👍🏾 you contain multitudes of value and I'm sorry that the color of your skin and the power of your voice makes people not want to acknowledge that.
