something about luz’s story and character development in the owl house is. So funny when you just take it into a different kind of perspective. like. shes a queer 14 year old from 2020, making demon slayer edits and my hero academia cosplays on tiktok. but then over the course of a summer, finding herself a world where she finally felt like she belongs, she’s having to fight morality and humanity with this religious man from 1600s colonial america that is hoping to wipe out the world that she could have ever dreamed off, Him deeming the people of this realm as “inhumane”, “blasphemous”, “animals”. He hopes to save away humanity from their disgusting sins, to guide luz to his fascist idiology. she eventually becomes a literal titan with godly powers to save the world and beat his ass. then becomes a gnc alternative adult. she takes all majors in the boiling isles and has a girlfriend in STEM. fucking Queen

The more I think about it, the more I love that the big bad of The Owl House, a portal fantasy set in an absurdist nightmare, is just an old white Puritan dude.
10/10 Dana Terrace that's the funniest choice you could have made.

okay everyone knows that like ragatha was based off of raggedy ann but like the amount of characters based off of old characters in this show is kinda neat. like kaufmo based off of koko, jax's dead frog friend based off of flip, and kind of a stretch but jax based off of poor papa oswald. like i don't have an issue with this i think it's neat.
(pics below the cut for reference)

#okay im not 100 percent sure about if jax was based off of oswald but like the overalls design? plus the rest?#but im pretty sure about the flip thing and like#if kaufmo wasnt based off koko id be SHOCKED#the amazing digital circus#jax the amazing digital circus#tadc#tadc kaufmo

tbh theres no way in the dn universe there aren't kira simps that aren't misa. like there's probably a bunch of cringe wattpad stories like 'POV: arranged marriage with kira' or some dumb shit like that. Like everyone simping for serial killers but worse. ESPECIALLY after the events of the finale
#light looks up what people think of kira#immediately stumbles into this rabbit hole and then is like#yknow what#this world is too rotten it cant be saved#he shows some to misa expecting her to be like wtf but she wrote half of them

death note L analysis/theory that was keeping me up last night:
L's silliness is all on purpose. It's a way to get people on edge, because people on edge make mistakes.
Now I hear you thinking: gravity, hes just like that, don't look too into it. But you're forgetting who we're talking about here: The world's top detective, L. He knows how people dress and act; he grew up at Wammy's House, surrounded by formal/fancy people. So why does he dress all sloppy?
Well, what would you EXPECT the world's top detective to look like? Something like Light Yagami. Formal, great with people, etc. But flip that expectation, and what do you get? L.
But why? I hear you think. Well, in L change the World, L says this interesting line (paraphrased, because i couldn't find it again when i looked lol): "The way to throw off an amateur is confusion, the way to throw off a professional is surprise." And doesn't his demeanor reflect both of these things?
But he wears his normal outfit at home--- shush. Im getting to that. He's gotta be comfy to solve crimes. But the fact that he doesn't change makes a lot of sense when you consider who he's investigating: Light Yagami.
Light's a top student, born to an important dad, going to a good school, etc. So he's used to being around people similar to him. So drop his narrative foil, someone the exact opposite, into the mix, and what do you get? A nervous Light.
Rewatch the scene they met. Look at L's bug eyes and almost inhuman demeanor. He knows that makes Light uncomfortable, that's what he's going for. He knows people better than we give him credit for.
And now, lets shift the topic to our favorite loser, Beyond Birthday. Read how he interacted with Naomi Misora. Maybe he wasn't mimicking L, he was using his strategies. That's how in LABB L knew immediately that Beyond was the killer. That also applies to Near. He was raised to be essentially the next L, so why wouldn't he use L's strategies, especially when going against Kira?
