༘⋆ ꙳ what’s in my satchel? . . . fantasy dr edition! ⋆ ˚｡ ⋆ ˚｡

is it cursed? is it enchanted? perhaps even haunted? who knows. i put a spell on it myself during one of my lessons in magical studies… you decide whether that’s a good or a bad thing.

MAGICAL SATCHEL ꕤ the appearance & its quirks.

my satchel in my fantasy dr is one of my most prized possessions; custom made by some of the most talented weavers in terabitia,, and brought with me everywhere.

it is woven with golden threads and crafted with the finest of indigo-stained velvets. it’s embroidered, intricately beaded with crystal gemstones and freshwater pearls, and decorated with gilded charms and tassels. also!! it chimes like tiny bells where it sways in my hand!! (i feel like a magical fairy)

as previously mentioned: it is enchanted. meaning: it is made to carry just about anything without running out of space or growing too heavy. perks of being a sorceress, i suppose.

the inside has multiple compartments for multiple purposes. let’s go over them!

i , FIRST COMPARTMENT ꕤ practical, anything i might need close at hand.

◞ silver dagger : not so much for protections sake, but more so for paying my respect and showing my gratitude. i was gifted the dagger by a sailor i had known in a previous life. i carry it with me everywhere.

◞ coin purse : for when i’m visiting the marketplace (i always make sure to buy at least one pomegranate)

◞ journal : i cannot go anywhere without carrying something to write or draw on. so, naturally, i have to bring my journal with me wherever i go.

◞ enchanted fountain pen : no ink needed. just intention and a little bit of belief.

◞ hip flask : filled with water (let’s hope)

◞ wrapped bonbons : i might’ve mentioned my sweet tooth once or twice before.

◞ map of terabitia & neighbouring kingdoms : i already know my kingdom like the back of my hand… but, you know, just in case!!

◞ lighter : you never know when you might need one.

◞ hand desinfectant : is the year currently 998 A.D. in my dr? yes. is hygiene still a thing in said dr? absolutely.

ii , SECOND COMPARTMENT ꕤ anything beauty.

◞ seashell compact : containing tinted lip balm made from beeswax, rose petals, and honey. the gilded seashell compact was a gift from the merpeople of the sinking islands. the compact is also refillable!

◞ tiny glass vial of perfume : a perfume bottle carrying my favourite signature fragrance. portable and practical.

◞ hair comb : with sturdy metal teeth to brush through my tresses.

◞ folding mirror & powdered blush : cute. foldable. practical. every girl’s best friend. the compact also includes a powdered rosy blush and powder puff, for good measure.

iii , THIRD COMPARTMENT ꕤ items of a sorceress on the go.

◞ deck of tarot cards : as adviced by kamaria. she wants me to practice using them whenever i have the chance.

◞ raw black tourmaline crystal : for protection.

◞ drawstring pouch : made out of silk and contains amethyst and clear quartz, labradorite and moonstone, and some dried wildflowers and herbs.

◞ tiny glass vial filled with moonwater : charged moonwater on the go.

◞ a golden key : but where does it lead? or does it even lead anywhere at all? that’s a secret just for me!

𝜗𝜚 SILLY LIL THINGS TO DO — make shifting more fun

THE HARMONIES — make playlists! one for your s/o, for your friends, for yourself & backstory, or even for a specific scenario you scripted! i love listening to a song for the first time and immediately connecting it to someone/something from my dr.

SMILE 4 THE PICTURE — make pinterest boards! i'm sure lots of you already do this, but you don't realize how there are multiple possibilities! a board of pics you and your s/o or friends would take, food you want to eat, things you wanna buy, or even a specific moment like christmas day or your first date! also pro tip: when making a board about someone, try to include more than just their clothes & face, add pictures that really embody their aura.

WORDS AREN'T ENOUGH — if you're a writer, write! script your scenarios in the most enchanting way possible, describe your loves ones with the most beautiful words you can find. and even if you aren't a writer, i still think this can be a lot of fun, i mean, who doesn't like to yap about their dr?

BLESSED VIEWS — make and/or watch edits! if you're a video editor (i am jealous) you can make edits of your s/o or friends to a fitting song, or even better, if you're skilled and creative enough, you can edit yourself with them. this also goes to photo editors, if you have the right resources, you can definitely edit a picture of you with whoever you desire or change some visual aspects. also, i'm sure most of us already do this but it's still worth mentioning, watch edits & clips! recently i found an account that posts the most scrumptious and FITTING edits for my vampire dr and have not stopped replaying it!

LIKE N FOLLOW — make social media profiles! this mostly applies to those shifting to realities where technology exists, there are many apps that can help you create fake profiles and posts, or you can just manually edit a screenshot of an account. this also goes to make up text convos!! between you and whoever you want or even between other people! this can be for a scripted scenario or just silly little mundane texts you'd receive from someone on a daily basis.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION — act as your "drself" (i hate using that term but u get it.) if you're only planning to shift later that day, while you're here, act as if you have shifted already! do your hair and make up how you would in the other reality, if for some reason you act differently there, copy it here! maybe act out how you would in a specific situation?

VOGUE'S MUSE — answer interviews! mostly for fame dr shifters, but even if you're not a famous person, let's say this is a hypothetical situation where you get to reply to all these questions about yourself from any of your other realities. search for popular interviews like the ones you'd find on vogue, buzzfeed, elle, or even search for fake interviews on shifting internet spaces!

QUESTION MARK — take personality quizes! this is so much fun, you can take them as yourself from another reality or as someone else from there and then imagine how you guys would react to each other's results!

about caldara— 490 A.B.

above is a general map that i made of my continent. give or take some details because i didn’t want it to get too cluttered oops. hopefully it serves as a good visual for my explanations of each region and its key city! anywho longgg ass post incoming!

NYSSAROS is the capital of the continent and crown jewel of house vangaros. it sits in the flatter heartland of eryndor which is the largest region on the continent. it is important to note that nyssaros is located where its most strategic but not where it is most safe. it’s connected to many borders but difficult to access or pass through all willy nilly. the capital sits where we, as the crown family, can see everything, steal anything and escape anything. it’s a very active city. as for looks, the whole city glitters and dazzles you in a way you can only dream. polished gold inlay is worked into the streets themselves. buildings are structured in tiers, with the higher you go, the closer you get to nobility. spires and domes dominate the skyline, crafted in a blend of obsidian, marble, and goldenstone. balconies overflow with vines and flowers, braziers line every street, and the palace is built directly atop a shallow rise. my family has held nyssaros for nearly 500 years, since the first raqiros dova established the capital post-binding. no one’s ever challenged our right to it either. we built this city.

TALVARIS is a wild thing. it’s overgrown and very old. clinging to the base of the veil peaks, where stone meets trunks of trees and dragons still pass overhead. the architecture here blends right into the land. houses are carved into cliffsides or built around massive trees, with rope bridges and winding stone steps acting as public paths. it’s governed by three houses: maroveth, vangaros, and rhadanis, each with their own domain within the city. the oldest temple, dedicated to the first flame, rests in the rhadanis-controlled quarter. maroveth’s section is known for its mineral forges and glasswork studios, while vangaros oversees the watchtowers and sky bridges. it’s one of the few cities where control is shared and not tested.

RAVENA, in the north of vysara, is unlike anywhere else in caldara. it’s built on stilts above the marshes, and its waterways are its roads. instead of streets, there are canals and bridges. houses here are tall and narrow, often with open lower levels to avoid flooding, and their rooftops are tiered like the petals of a lotus flower. it’s a holy city, controlled solely by house rhadanis for the last six centuries, and is home to the oracle temples and the drowned archives. you can only imagine how well secrets flow through this place.

ILLORIA is just off the mainland on the island of wynsereth and it’s considered the most serene (and slow moving) of all the major cities. the buildings are sculpted from pale stone and dark wood, with gilded lattices and canopies. every home and hall has a garden or water feature, and the roads are quiet, winding, and lined with flowering trees. house davenar has ruled here for over 600 years—similar to rhadanis with ravena. they’re the old money, old faith, old legacy of this world. while rhadanis may be known as the “first” of the great houses, davenar is the reason “great” even had to be listed to begin with. illorian trees have the sweetest fruits and the richest soils. when nobles retire or retreat, they come here. and—as a bonus—the surrounding lands of wynsereth are literally known as “the golden forests” due to the sheer abundance of gold and other precious metals found here. it’s truly a testament to davenar’s respect that the lands haven’t been excavated into oblivion yet.

THALORN is a forge city built in a goddamn caldera. the region of valdorra is volcanic, and thalorn was carved out of what remained after one of the last great eruptions. tunnels run beneath the city, used to avoid dragons since valdorra is their primary hunting grounds. it’s hot, always, and that’s saying a lot considering caldara is a continent of eternal summer pretty much. but caldarans are smart and not easily deterred! the stone buildings are vented and hollow, built to withstand intense heat. black glass, copper tiles, and a smidgen of smoke stained gold give thalorn its iconic look. house maroveth controls the region and has for about 200 years, ever since the last ruling line died out in a lavaflow (oops).

RHALENMOOR is the capital of house venakar, and it shows. it’s built in the fertile yet drier plains of nysara. the golden fields stretch in every direction and the city rises out of the land like a fortress of lush abundance. clay brick walls, green domed halls, and sprawling market squares aplenty. there’s irrigation channels that double as ritual spaces, and the storage houses are adorned with carvings that honor seed and harvest. venakar’s had it for multiple generations and they don’t share well. anyone who wants to eat in caldara knows to stay in venakar’s good graces. while a relatively young house, they’re surprisingly nifty—and ambitious which could read badly for house rhadanis whom shares territory with them.

AVENTHAL is a fortress first, city second. it belongs to house tharavos, who took control after a royal decree roughly 180 years ago. it used to be a torvane port, but was deemed too inland and got reassigned. it’s all stone and steel—walls within walls, like an inescapable maze. the streets are tight, but the surveillance is tighter. there are more whisperers here per capita than anywhere else in caldara because aventhal is where they train before they’re sent off to other regions. regular ole people live here, yes, but house tharavos has a thing about orphans. and there’s an abnormally high rate of orphans that end up in aventhal than anywhere else… they gotta find someway to survive, right? so they get really good at two things: hide and listen. just to then line their pockets with tharavos gold. that’s how aventhal became a city that never sleeps, but stalks.

KHALMAR, in othalar, is carved directly into the mountain. it looks impenetrable because it is. built like a vertical city, its homes and barracks cling to stone cliffs, connected by narrow staircases, lifts, and winding tunnels. valdryn has ruled here for over 300 years, ever since they won the southern wars and claimed it as their prize. firelight glows from within the rock faces at night, and the forges never go cold. it’s a warrior city, plain and simple. also the hub of many of our military operations. the region is directly under valdorra which makes for easy access to dragons and luckily (or unluckily, depending on which house you’re in) valdryn has an abundance of dragon power thanks to the events that took place in 340 A.B. they’ve accumulated six dragons despite not being an original bloodline to claim them. some whispers say house valdryn one day plans to overthrow vangaros and claim nyssaros for themselves…

VELMARRA is house torvane’s sea-wrapped gem. it curves around the coast like a blade, with harbor spires that double as storm towers. it’s not just a port—it’s a city raised against the deep. every structure is built to bend with the wind: narrow towers reinforced with stone that’s stood the test of time and obsidian anchors that moor the city to the earth itself. the buildings gleam in blues, pewter, and pale gold which is the one similarity velmarra shares with the rest of the great cities. sea monsters are carved into the walls like warnings, while prayers against drowning can be found in all of the temples. torvane has overseen velmarra longer than any other house has ruled a city singlehandedly. it has been their sworn duty since the beginning of, perhaps, time itself. they don’t just run trade. they guard caldara from what moves in the water: horrors only born from the tide like leviathans and sea wraiths that destroy ships without a second thought. without torvane, the southern coastline would be chaos. every storm is a test, especially in the harsher months, and every return to port is a small war won. every street leads to the sea. even the fishers carry knives. velmarra isn’t gentle. it’s not a beach town overlooking a calm ocean. it’s a siren’s song that drags you into your own blissful death.

shifting shadow work 🔮

shadow work is a process in which we delve into the depths of our unconscious self also known as the shadow self. this includes repressed emotions, fear, limiting beliefs, and blockages that we may not be aware of, or are not ready to accept. shadow work helps one become more self-aware and develops a deep understanding of the self. it heals past traumas and improves your self-esteem and relationships. since it helps identify limiting beliefs and blockages, it can be used as a tool to help you shift, in order to rewire your mindset for success! answer the following questions with honesty and in as much detail as you can go. have fun with this! enjoy the process. good luck :)

what is awareness. oh my god what is awareness. (can i put glitter on it, and most importantly, how do i tune it??)

awareness ≠ your thoughts. awareness ≠ your memories. awareness is not your identity. awareness is location. like literally.... where are you. where is your attention seated. if you're reading this post and thinking about how you looked weird in that group photo from 2019, then congrats. you're not here. your awareness is in a jpeg. you change your body? awareness stays. you forget your name? awareness stays. you close your eyes and imagine a different life so vividly you cry? awareness watched you do it.

when people say "i am awareness" they're not being poetic. they're being literal. you aren't your body. you aren't your thoughts. you aren't your opinions or memories or delusions or trauma-borne personality glitches. you are the thing aware of them. and if that's true, if awareness is what you are, then it also means awareness is portable.

you are not locked in here with yourself. you're holding the keys and pacing in a circle. you could walk out of the room. you just keep saying "but this room is familiar." you think you're being loyal, you're being stubborn.

to change your reality, you don't drag this awareness into another version of life. you relocate it. you frequent a new one. stop asking how. stop trying to turn this into a 12-step plan. you're not downloading the shift update off the app store. you don't do anything. you identify.
