…then Covid lockdowns hit. Running became less frequent. He gained 20 pounds in the first few months. Since then he’s swelled 70lbs, currently sitting at 210. He’s tried to lose the weight (or so he says), but he’s never weighed less than 185lbs since. Now, this once fit boy is resigned to eating and being teased online so he can get off on how fat he’s going to grow for others

My dear grandmother told my partner that we were all getting big. My partner tried to redirect and said I was doing more kettlebells (I haven’t), but my dear grandmother corrected her and made sure to clarify that she thought I was getting really fat.

Bigger Promotion

When my manager said I was in line for a bigger promotion, I had different ideas in mind. I was thinking bigger responsibilities and role, but my boss was thinking bigger waistline and that I’d roll. I’d report to HR or just quit, but the salary bump is too substantial. And I’m pretty sure my boss has videos of me being embarrassingly gluttonous, which I suspect would be used to blackmail me into staying in this position. Did I mention the bump in salary? Well, it’s tied to performance goals, and my goals are tied to how many calories I eat. And every time I’m on-target for the week, my boss moves the goalposts. I’m hitting eight thousand calories every day now, and I’ve only been doing this for a month. I shudder to think what a year of this will do to me. Every time I mention slowing down, my boss just increases the goals.
