You ever think the Drifter evolved somehow? They were fighting every second of their lives for centuries. The Void must've thought it'd be real funny to switch their body up.
Sharper teeth (give your drifters fangs PLEASE), tougher nails, higher stamina, tougher skin, being able to see in the dark via glowy eyes, better hearing, sharper sense of smell, heightened alertness, tougher muscles, better recovery, being able to survive lo ger without sustance, etc. They already have crazy recovery via void nonsense.
Ya know? Like. They must've. How else would they be able to survive suddenly being tossed into the origin system? In the midst of a war nonetheless. They even say they aren't exactly "human" anymore. By technicality, they don't even have a real physical body and just wonder around in the space between existence and non-existence! That's literally what the voidwalk ability is!
I think about it a lot.
Give your drifters fangs. Please. Void-y fangs. Please please.

viktor has a very thoughtful and particular way of speaking and it is so fascinating to watch this carefully constructed way of communicating break down over the seasons. in the winter viktor is measured and well-spoken, and this isn't even due to the efforts of whoever is writing the loudspeaker announcements. by fall he's having wild mood swings, veering off into rambling fanaticism, I wouldn't even say that the mask is off-- it's fairly clear his intentions even early on, more that his composure has been entirely stripped away. he also continually loses his shit in stormfall broadcasts which is very funny-- he's either coolly charismatic and invoking belief and duty, derangedly sassy and condescending, or having a full screaming meltdown
I would also argue that it's evident whether Viktor is reciting from a script (the infamous on-lyne broadcast) vs hopping on and heaving his vitriol through a microphone. he NEEDS someone to keep him on track otherwise he'll just yap.
