im honestly surprised (not really surprised considering what website this is) that i haven't seen anyone on here talk about Lil Nas X getting violently arrested after suffering some kind of mental health episode. I wish he was getting more attention and support.

So in addition to my general concert going experience, I also did something I've never done: sit in the disabled seating.
While I'm definitely physically disabled in a way that often impedes my concert experience, I've historically had the attitude that I should leave those seats to someone "more disabled" than me. My disability accommodation is usually just buying seats instead of general admission because I can't stand anymore. But I've had issues recently with having seats far up in the balconies and there not being elevators to the seats.
Normally, I think the standard procedure if you want disabled seating is that you buy regular tickets and then call to request special accommodation. I did this once for a club show when I had a broken foot and they said they could get me a stool if I showed up early. But I ended up not going because it sounded dubious.
But when I was buying tickets for this show, it was at a brand new venue with a lot of disabled seating that was available when I went into buy tickets. And they were the best seats in the house. It felt illegal for me to buy them. I read the policies, that these were for ambulatory people with physical disabilities. Which is literally me. But I still felt like I wasn't allowed to use them.
But I bought the seats because they were almost all empty while the venue was almost sold out so I figured I wasn't taking them from anyone.
"You'd better take your cane" was my husband's comment when I told him.
So I did show up with a cane, though I didn't really need it, just out of fear of being accused of "not really being disabled." It was totally silly but yeah.
Basically, the experience was just finding the elevator and then finding the seats among the row of disabled seats in the front. The only "checking" that was happening was they checked that we had tickets for those seats and gave us wristbands for them (I assume to make sure people weren't sneaking in without being authorized.) Because they WERE the best seats.
The seats were filled, though there was room for wheelchairs that wasn't used. I was literally the only person with a mobility aid, also.
So I say all of this to say I encourage my fellow disability folks to actually use the resources that exist. I tend to do the stupid thing of not wanting to use the special accommodation and then regretting it by finding out my seats are 4 flights of stairs up or my connecting flight is leaving from a distant terminal. (The airport is the other place I will in fact request accommodation because I've ended up crying from pain too many times in airports.)
And that's silly of me. But the fear of being judged for not looking disabled is so real. The feeling that your own issues aren't "real" disability or not bad enough to deserve special treatment. And we have to stop that because it's not true and the more accommodations are asked for the more likely they are to be provided.

The really cool thing about hydrangeas is that they can be blue, pink, or purple based primarily on the pH of the soil. A free science experiment in every plant.
Omg this is so cool I didn’t know this! I wonder if I can do this experiment with students

I don’t know who the original author is or on which platform this was posted.
But this post features a princess who is cursed to die on her 16th birthday and who says, "So I’m going to die at 16 and not before… no matter what I do?"
And who then lives the most hardcore life possible because she was actually immortal up until the age of 16.
Now imagine Shang Qinghua in that scenario:
"Uh, System, I’m going to die by Mobei-jun in the future…"
System: [Yes! It is a canon event related to the SQH character.]
SQH: "…and there’s no other possible scenario?"
And if the answer was a yes…
SQH is hyper-stressed and cautious around Mobei-jun. Aka the only threat to his life.
But otherwise? SQH is the most reckless cultivator of his generation. He’ll charge into a burning house because "it’s the shortest path"
He is just the definition of YOLO.
On An Ding Peak, this is a well-known fact. Opinions range from admiration to sheer terror.
The other peaks simply don’t believe the rumors (SQH still acts pathetic most of the time—to avoid losing points for being OOC.)
…except for Mu Qingfang, who often wonders, "How the fuck are you still alive?!"

Sweetie. Dead Dove is not a description of the level of nasty. It's just a statement to read the tags and keep them in mind.
That said. Gimme.
I have a very nasty moshang nsfw idea and I'm gonna write it but... Do you want me to actually publish it?

The hardest part about Dracula to believe isn’t the vampires.
It’s the fact that three men proposed to the same woman and, upon being rejected, two of the men not only immediately accepted the woman’s refusal with grace but they also vowed to be loyal friends to her anyway and then they actually were.
In real life, you’re usually friends with a man first and after a while you get the ā€œI need to tell you somethingā€ text but Dracula completely reverses the order of events. Lucy gets the text, politely declines and then gets to have a genuinely fulfilling friendship with the men who were interested in her.
Bonus: all three men, including the man whose proposal was accepted, are also friends and there was no toxic masculinity or fighting or trying to one up each other. There was no competition. They just respected Lucy’s wishes and each other.
I think people irl wonder why I’m so insane about this book, both regarding how well it holds up over time (generally speaking, because there is obviously still room for criticism) and what a complete failure every single adaption has been. This is why.
To this day, we struggle with how female and male characters are written, and here’s a guy from the 19th century who, despite still holding beliefs from his era, has been able to do what so many modern writers, both male and female, have completely failed to do. The men in Dracula aren’t just better than a lot of real men. They’re also better than a most fictional men too.
