Dear void,
apparently, when you need a new "obsess on lore" franchise after dumping LoZ and DA, there is a
*sees Heinrix fanart and character analysis* -> *get curious and buy the game* -> * LOVE Rogue Trader, also the "this is really horrible.. wait, waaait, with so much death, are the candles from human.. o___o " grimdark is really oddly cathartical* -> *starts browsing tumblr for "the popular horus heresy thingy I remember from xy years ago" *, also lore bits -> *primarch fanart n such*, also hello Conrad and overworked Roboute -> *deepdiving lore after reading book excerpts here and on 40klore and being positively suprised* -> *starts buying W40k ebooks*
pipeline to Warhammer40k.
I AM slightly frustrated though with the dudes at work though, because apparently "liking Warhammer" is mostly just "liking spacemarines and playing the popular games". BUT at least my excitment about Rogue Trader got two of them to buy and play RT though (thanks to the coop mode in one case) , and 3P-coop for next time when spacemarines2 is on sale. yay =D
BOOKS Current reading "order": the long night (done), shadow of treachery: the prince of crows (done), know no fear (rn), pharos (tbr).. Also, I'm sorry, but centuries of manga conditioned my brain to not read BL as Black Library, so w40k posts sometimes read really weird in the first moments ;__; Anyways, my current wishlist looks like this: soul hunter , night lords omnibus, angels of caliban, master of mankind, dante, ruinstorm, devastation of baal, the lords of silence, konrad curze, dark imperium, eisenhorn omnibus, morvenn vahl (just because she looks so cool, hopefully she is more interesting than Argenta ^^"), fall of cadia [yes, there is a light "poor guy, I know those bad the grey beyond suicidal depression behaviours well" bias for someone, I pity him]
Some light QUESTIONS in case the voids listens -Is there a story on how and why Alastor Rushal joined Sevatar? (and got his tongue cut?) [yes, asking the important questions here, lol] -And related to that: What else can I put on my booklist? Can be Xenobooks too. -Isn't Emps and the IoM basically fuelling chaos with all the suffering and deaths? -random thought I had: Are the Astartes as strong man-looking angels a reference to the Jacob fight story? (since apparently GW love their cultural references..?) -Did the Adeptus Mechanicus still have the knowledge about how to build fusion/nuclear reactors in 30k - seeing as apparently some primarchs are nukehappy, but in RT such a reactor was apparently a special holy relic?

Hey, you reblogged that AI post and I was surprised to see something so mean on your blog. "If you cant write unassisted, fuck you, youre a disgrace to the community." Is that really something you want on your blog?
Just in case this isn't a spam message:
Posting AI-generated content to a platform intended to be an archive for writers is not appropriate use of the platform. On a platform intended for human creation, it is rude and inappropriate to clog search results with AI-produced content which often plagiarizes the work of human authors.
Use of generative AI is also horrible for our environment, leading to massive waste of fossil fuel energy and water. We should not be doing damage to our planet for the sake of generating (robot-produced, often plagiarized) fiction, especially when the joy of fiction comes from the creation and emotion of real people.
Rather than giving a prompt to a generative AI, people should consider attempting to write their own work, or asking another writer from the fandom if they would be interested in writing it. Anyone who is capable of typing a prompt into ChatGPT is capable of writing a story. The first attempts may not be amazing, but that is true of any skill, and anyone can improve with time and practice - and while ChatGPT may give you big returns in your time, it doesn't give you practice, growth, or creativity, which is where the joy of writing should come from.

the glove is such a nice idea - I guess this could work for fake tattoos too? (how DO folks commit to one design like forever? Sure, most of the time my left arm would be a blackberry thicket, but sometimes it got to be skulls, or butterflies to reflect the me of the day/week/month,s)

When Veilguard comes out, please keep it in the back of your mind every single time you interact with Varric and Lucanis that their writer got laid off with little to no warning and that she is and always will be a Dragon Age legend and one of the reasons why the franchise has stayed afloat for as long as it has

Broke:
Belle has Stockholm syndrome because she falls in love with the Beast, her kidnapper.
Woke:
Stockholm syndrome was coined to slander a woman who had been in a hostage situation but openly criticized the poor police response which recklessly put her in more danger and escalated the violence. She was then belittled and discredited publically by the police for this.
Tumblr media
So. Yeah. Maybe Belle does have Stockholm syndrome actually.

Honestly I should talk about the ace experience more. I don’t see enough. Like–obviously it’s dehumanizing to be repeatedly compared to robots or aliens but uh…sometimes it feels like that??
My husband will get all horny while I’m, I don’t know, changing out of sweaty gardening clothes. And I’ll be like, “But we have to make lunch?? I stink? Now is not a good time?? Logic?” And clearly it’s not about logic to him. He is experiencing the entire scenario very differently. And I’m here like,
Tumblr media
Or the times where you realize that like, having an actual physiological reaction to attractive people is not some enculturated metaphor, and people are actually doing that all around you all the time, and you’re like, Ah, clearly my studies of human culture have been incomplete. I have missed a critical psychosocial component. Many things now appear in a different light. *takes notes on holopad*

Could we have a side by side comparison of the "old style" Maine Coones and the "newer look" Maine coones?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
MetatronEyes (Left) was my favorite cattery, unfortunately they’re no longer breeding but many of their cats are a good examples of how a Maine Coon should look as well as what to look for in a breeder.
Meanwhile Tassel Magic (Right) is among the worst offenders when it comes to producing “new type” Maine Coon’s and has an appropriately poor reputation to boot because of how many sick cats they’ve sold.
This can be a little subjective since cats are not cookie cutter and there is some variation to be expected, not every individual will be show quality and that’s alright. You’ll notice some of MetatronEyes cats are more type heavy than others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On top we have a well-balanced queen from Mångravs compared to the excessively type heavy queen on the bottom from Blue Ridge.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another MetatronEyes cat (Left) this time compared to a MarvelForest cat (Right), another frequent offender with “new style” variants of the breed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the left we have a cat from TaigaLynx as a good example of the breed and on the right we have a cat from Caring Lions which is… a less stellar example.
The Maine Coon is supposed to be an impressive, functional breed. European lines are often more type-y than American lines and that’s fine, many good breeders work with both… but this is not an ornamental breed, they should not look like bad taxidermy.

been seeing homies get deep into "the terror" and making me want to rewatch SO i spent two hours in the dead of night reading the wiki/the subreddit/other linked articles and like. one of those articles was deadass fucked up
there was a woman who spoke inuktitut who was writing a book containing a lot of inuit oral histories, and in nunavut she was able to hear passed-down recollections of when survivors from the franklin expedition were passing through
and like. i can't imagine being an inuit family/group, knowing that europeans exist but having never seen them, seeing 8-9 shambling, blue-skinned, cold-to-the-touch out-of-their-minds white men come wandering by. they invited the men inside their igloos for warmth, for food, to be hospitable. the men refused to eat, refused to speak, and when trade was offered, clutched their possessions close and refused to entertain the idea of trade. this was, offputting, to say the least. the group set them up in their own igloo, with their own fire, and left three whole seals for them to eat. and then they fled cause what the FUCK get out of there. they came back in a few days to check on the strangers. the three seals were completely untouched, while all of the men had killed and eaten each other
i mean. fuck dude. there are obviously pretty dark angles to view the franklin expedition from– honestly can't think of a good angle, it's pure colonialism and british exceptionalism– but that specific interaction, that inuit group who were living lives as normal until a dozen fucking walking dead showed up and did cannibalism. no wonder that story got passed down, i'd be shitting my pants if i saw that
