I saw two people while gathering crystals for my quest, a Raen lady followed by... that mean adventurer I found in Coerthas. He was intent on killing her and she was terrified and defenseless. I couldn't allow it!

He claimed she was a criminal. Threatened to tell the company of me getting in between... He didn't tell the company after our meeting in Coerthas... So I didn't believe him this time either.

But I failed... He used magics and... she was killed. It felt horrible that I was unable to help her... Then he wasn't interested in fighting me and left...

That man is evil.

Here I thought the jungle vilekin was annoying. Then she shows up yet again! I was much too tired to pack all my things and change camp for the night, especially not on a starving stomach.

So I allowed her to stay. Even made her shut up for a bit by sharing part of my dinner, as much as it pained me to give away my hard earned meal... But lo and behold she shut her pretty little mouth.

I guess there is a benefit to be two sleeping in the same camp. Just not sure how much I trust her intentions she claim to not be hiding. She didn't poison me last time... But I will make a point of leaving early in the morning, she can't be following me into the mountains too, can she..?

There was a plant swap event happening at Mercy, Adelle's initiative. Such a pleasant gathering that showed up, fascinating flora and tales I found hard to believe. Carrots from the moon? I will need to research this... Her claims for their powers were in fact true though. Perhaps if I could get these to Dubus somehow...

All in all, a delightful day. Meetings that might lead to interesting business in the future. Next time I will have to bring something of my own to swap with enthusiastic botanists.

I’m not answering the nsfw questions but I often think about Yurah and the fact that she is barren. In the culture of Viera, I would assume this is a big deal as they do not often have children and I feel that at first she thought it was just that she was a late bloomer.

As she aged it became evident and she personally feels it makes her dead weight as she could never contribute in the most meaningful way to her people. It took a lot of self worth from her and though she is currently isn’t thinking about it, it is her secret burden.

That is not to say that I am setting viera as breeders or a misogynistic society. In the lore I believe children as rare and I feel they would take great pride in being mothers (and fathers). If I am wrong about this tidbit of lore, enlighten me!

It was kind of awkward to travel back... I think all my apologizing annoyed him too, even if it still is hard to tell what he is thinking.

How could I possibly thank him for sticking with me? Even after I attacked him? Now I'm just worried about the company... If they find out, what will happen to me? Or when they find out... Erjon said I should be the one to tell them what happened.

I have nowhere to go if they want me to leave... I just don't want to hurt anyone by accident, in case that happens again...

How-To: Budget Studio Mk.III

We've all been there: 50M gil burning white hot in your pocket when a set of Fallen Angel Wings pop in the market board, its siren's call luring you. Now you're utterly fashionable, but regrettably with barely half a mil Gil to your name. What to do?

Well, do not give to despair, my glamorous friend! You can actually build a perfect black background studio to show off your feathery acquisition.

You'll need:

1 x FC Room, or an Apartment

3 x White Screens

1-2 x platforms of your choice

4-5 Soot Black dyes

1 - Setup

Place your White Screens in parallel, in order to completely cover a wall. (This will give you some leeway with angles and point light placement.)

Make sure you leave a considerable gap, of maybe half the length of the base of a White Screen. This is important, as you'll see very soon.

Place the objects you'll use as platforms in front and center of the white panel line, making sure it overlaps with the middle panel. This is where you'll stand: In the example below I floated two Combed Wool Rugs, but any contiguous platform will do (think tables, half-partitions, etc.)

Dye all the objects with Soot Black. No need for the expensive stuff.

Now let's reduce the ambient light, setting it to zero; we'll use only GPose lighting for shots.

2 - What's the catch?

Well, you see - most partitions, like the Blank Riviera partition, have a collision box set around them. If a camera touches it, its path is altered so it doesn't go behind the partition.

White Screens, however, do NOT have a collision box - so you can move your camera behind the partitions, and place your light sources there.

Here's how it looks in gpose - notice how the camera just goes through the partition:

Amazing, right? So the trick is to place light sources behind the panels, in the gap between the back of the panels and the wall; this way, the light won't hit the front surfaces.

The final result is a shot with a perfect pitch-black background, where rim lights can be applied with very intense results:

You can also place Type-1 light points in front, so they offer a very gentle illumination while not hitting the background panels:

Another possible setup: move the character away from the background, and place the light sources around it.

That'll result in shots like this one:

You can also place a point light between the character and the background, to create a halo effect:

The opportunities for dramatic lighting are endless.

She asked me to come with her.

Bexy asked ME to go fight along her, alone, just us.

Apparantly Sayuri and Eir were missing again... And she had just a small clue to follow. I decided to help her find them. In the same area we usually fought the slavers, they were still present, like bugs they never seem to decrease in numbers...

We found no clues though. Nothing at all to lead us forward. It was frustrating! But Bexy said she'd call on me again, once she found a clue to follow.

I hope we find them soon. I made Eir a promise after all...

Alright, someone be my hero.

There was a tumblr post years ago when world visit was first introduced. It had a video about people piling onto Balmung and some girl gets off of a bus and starts singing I think, but gets interrupted by something or another. I just remember cracking the fuck up and now I can't find it to save my life.

After a long journey into the wilderness... We finally found a settlement! Or the ruins of one. But I recognized it. Remembered being here. Normally that would be something I was excited about but... The images in my head were rather unpleasant...

Then there was the storm and my headaches that plagued me since we set off from Garlemald. At one point I just... went unconsious and, according to Erjon, attacked him..!

I feel so... ashamed. Still he decided to stay, maybe it was only thanks to the storm though... There is so much I will need to think about after this...

Thought it would be interesting to put down my findings on Dancing Green and all his 70's/80's disco references found within his mechanic names, either from the song titles themselves or from the lyrics within these really iconic songs of the era!

Hi-NRG Fever for the Savage enrage, pronounced High Energy, is a genre of late 70's to early 80's disco, primarily leaning into more electronic styles, which works well with the type of disco music you hear in the raid music itself! Eighth Beats & Quarter Beats are the commonly heard drum beats used in a lot of Disco music! Deep Cut, used for the tankbusters, is a term given to less commonly heard music on a band's popular album but in itself is considered a fave among the fans!

There's some moves that are legit just referencing record players which makes me smile (Drop the Needle and Flip to A-Side which goes into cleaves called Play A-Side).

Honestly it's so nice the amount of attention and love they put into these raids, especially M5 and how much disco it shows in every little part!

Adelle and I decided to finally visit Idyllshire. Long ago was it since I visited. It was nostalgic, even if it was but a stop on our way, to prepare for our expedition into Saint Mocianne's Arboterum.

Also a first in a long time. I wonder if the wasps moved out..?

We didn't make it far before my dear made curious finds. I, too, found reason to make slow progress on our adventure. When our topic of discussion left that of botanical science and rare flora, to that of domestic life and the future. Our future.

Sometimes I feel at a loss at just how to properly express my feelings, no phrase covers all these emotions, no word carry enough meaning. At times like this, expression through action is all that suffice.

So we waltzed on lilypads, to the vilekin's choire, lost in one another... Until we lost out footing that was, taking a dip into the pond...

Ah, but I do love to hear her laugh.
