opinions on other ali sparkes books? <- don't mind me, just searching every corner of the interwebs for some hint of a night speakers fandom *sobs desperately into handkerchief*

Hi!! The night speakers books are acc the only ones of hers i have read! although smth happened and i never got round to finishing the last one (i rlly should get on that). I really liked them! I did mostly read them because they're in the same universe as shapeshifter but i really enjoyed them in their own right :] its unfortunately been a while so my memory is super foggy </3

Do you think Owen would make a good partner?

Good question, as someone who's a huge Owen enjoyer and down bad for that man on occasion I would honestly say in an average circumstance no lol. I do believe he truly cares for those he loves but it's been proven many a time that this can manifest in snap, emotion driven decisions that haven't always have the best outcomes. It's quite accidentally controlling in a way, his attitude when it comes to protecting people often does more harm than good. He's quite ruthless too, and not exactly afraid to inflict pain or fear if he believes it's for the greater good, always action first and explanation later. It's what makes him so compelling and keeps you on your toes and I love it. But relationship wise I think he'd only be chill with someone who he can trust to look after themselves so he doesn't do all That 😭

thoughts on how the true eleven developped? I feel like Gideon was left behind a lot in terms of character arcs esp. post-STS

& I agree with you on Gideon, I think it's a shame he got a little sidelined in favour of Luke- I don't think this was a huge thing but I think he deserved a bit more attention in his own right. It would've been nice to see him and Dax interact more as best friends again after all that happened perhaps.

In terms of the others, my memory is a bit foggy but I think mia was v interesting. I think overall it was a good call to have a series with individual focus on the other characters, even if some of the plots were a little wild (looking at you, Spook). I know he's not true eleven but I'm always very sad we didn't get an Owen focused book

ohhh my god! hiii! you have no idea how excited i got when i saw there are still people online talking about these books!! they were the highlight of starting high school for me (age 11) and even inspired my creative writing piece for my fourth-year english exam and honestly i still think about them loads to this day but i thought the fandom had pretty much died down online so its so awesome to see it hadnt died completely! <3

I love getting asks like this because it was the entire reason I made this blog! The series is still my favourite book series ever, it was hugely important to me growing up, seems that was the case for a lot of people!! I'm glad this blog has helped others to come together and find each other

Hey if you’re still doing this blog, what is your opinion on ‘Of Feather and Fang’. I am personally still confused by the book. I’ve read unleashed and everything but I constantly check to see if I’ve somehow missed a book

Long time no see everyone!

My impression of Feather and Fang is slightly warped as I accidentally read it before Unleashed oops, I was quite confused during it. I sadly haven't reread since to get a better perspective and can't fully remember what happens now anyway. I remember liking it, and I did figure out my mistake in the end haha. Still very sad we never got a continuation though or actually saw Dax find Owen again, I used to daydream about that repeatedly. Sorry I can't be more useful 😭 perhaps someone else might give a better response!!

Why weren’t they sus of Catherine she was the only one withe multiple powers and was the only one who wasn’t tired

Good point, I think it was mostly a mix of two things:

1. Catherine was using her powers to charm people and win them over

2. No one listened to Dax because they just assumed he was jealous. His best friend had just discovered not one but two siblings, and is of course spending lots of time with them. I think most people just thought Dax was being silly or overreacting because he was missing that friendship so they didn't really take him seriously.

As for the teachers though, I really don't know haha. You'd think they would've not just been suspicious, but also would have tested Catherine's powers to see how they work, and might've noticed something... But I guess from a writer's perspective we wouldn't've had a story if they had

Do you every wonder what owen would look like?

i think ive always had a solid idea of what he looks like in my head- how accurate that is i dont know, its been the same since i first read the books when i was 10. i dont think i imagine his hair as long as its described. but hes always been one of my favourite characters, ill have to try drawing him some time

if I were a braver man I’d write a lisa/mia au where they go dark together, take down the government, liberate the true eleven, and go live their lives as ridiculously rich wives, (and if anyone crosses them they find themselves suddenly with all their worst secrets exposed and their house burned down) but alas

yeah im actually so glad i made this blog, its been so good for finding other fans.

as for catherine.... i have very mixed feelings. when i was younger i hated her for what she did to my favourite characters, i suppose i had the reaction youre supposed to have towards villains/antagonists. i still feel like that now i think, but ive also come to appreciate her as a really interesting character too. i feel if i reread them again now id enjoy her a whole lot more. i also looove thinking about how different things might have been if the collector had found her before the government. would he have been able to teach her how to control her abilities? how much more powerful could she have been? an interesting au idea for sure
