Anyone else notice that Roman was acting a little strange in POF? Like, aside from the obvious internal issues he's clearly dealing with, some of the stuff he was doing and saying just felt a little off. And...a little familiar??

I mean, not even 5 minutes into the video and he has to be cut off saying the word "shitty?" I know this type of language isn't super foreign to him (insert that bitchmas clip lol), but cussing like that isn't too big with the sides. Well, except for Remus.

And this whole scene??? Roman just casually throwing out scene where Thomas's friends are in danger like that? And then Thomas has to jump in again with "Maybe don't depict scenarios where my friends die." What side do we know who just LOVES to do that exact thing? Oh yeah...Remus.

I'll probably get hate for this, but I don't really care anymore. I can't deal with the way DP ended. And this isn't me just trying to dig up old drama again, I just have genuine concerns and so many bottled up feelings and thoughts about it that I have never been able to let out because people pretty much just tried to forget about it as soon as dan posted his video.

So, I wanna try something, and idk if it'll work or if anyone will even actually care to do this but: use me as your vent space.

You can either comment your true and honest feelings about the drama and Stephen's new videos, and Dan's video OR message me privately if you want to be anonymous. I may or may not reply to them in a separate post, but I need to know that I'm not the only one who has more to say on this.

Fusing with one of the twins, especially Remus, quite frankly does not sound like the best idea. In fact, pondering fusion with any side would just be impractical, seeing as I could never fuse with them, at least intentionally.

Well, there have never been any cases of two sides..."coming together" before, no. As for the question of why: it can be triggered by especially prevalent events in Thomas's life. Things that cause extreme levels of emotion, or leave a lasting impact. However, in terms of how one may unfuse...I don't have a definitive answer for that as of right now.

Personally I believe telling them individually would be best, and certainly less chaotic. However, it's clear we need to tell Thomas first and foremost, and I doubt we can count on none of the other sides popping in on us after we break the news.

No, I haven't told anyone yet, except Logan. If I'm being honest I'd like to avoid it as much as possible...but I don't think that'll last much longer.

It's an entirely new experience! I have all new sorts of thoughts and feelings.

Well, the world looks wonderful! Yeah, some things are pretty scary, and I keep having these weird flashes that are kind of frightening but I'll be fine, and I'll make sure my family is fine too.

Quick theories on the possible orange side

So, @fisforfandomsblog got me thinking about the orange side after they mentioned how Roman might be impersonated in the next video, due to the “dark side nose scrunch”. This observation was made by someone else who I don’t know, so whoever it was, please come claim credit.

Anyway, the orange side.

I think Orange may be Ignorance. Since the dark sides are Thomas’ interpretation of bad emotions, I believe he might see hatred as coming from ignorance, so you have this as the side’s main representation, but it is also malice. This would be a good opportunity for a truly unsympathetic character.

So far, the “dark sides” have been weird, but mostly not evil. We start with Virgil, who just wants to protect Thomas but is going about it the wrong way. Then Deceit, who also seems to be going that way, with Selfishness vs Selflessness. It’s clear that there is a past between Virgil and Deceit, which could move us towards an interesting arc for the latter where he slowly recognizes his toxicity. I have other theories in regard to their relationship, but I won’t go into them now. The last dark side we’ve seen is Remus, who is pretty bad as intrusive thoughts, but who is also a side effect of imagination and not evil per se.

I feel like we are missing a true villain. We could push both Remus and Deceit into that role, but they also have aspects that might make them redeemable: Deceit as self-preservation, Remus as the rejected creativitwin. I still prefer Remus as a villain, but I can see why people would like that backstory.

And then comes the fact that no one is completely good. People will always have selfish and mean impulses. While Remus fills the part of that dark impulsiveness, he cannot truly be attributed to meanness, malice and more long-term resentments. So where does that go?

Maybe Virgil, maybe Patton or Roman, in case we don’t have new sides. Maybe all the sides have both dark and light within them.

But what if we could have someone who actually represented the resistance to learn, to change? Who held grudges, who stuck to infantile notions and selfishness?

I theorized to @fisforfandomsblog that Roman might be impersonated by Orange and that Virgil is the only one who notices it, but he keeps quiet, until the end of the video when everyone sinks out leaving the two of them and it is revealed to us: It is not Roman, but Ignorance, smug and maybe childish, who taunts Virgil. And Virgil does not respond. He is terrified.

I think this would go well with some of Virgil’s behavior. Especially with how he acted at the end of Selfishness vs Selflessness. He makes Thomas promise that he won’t let any of the dark sides stick around for that long ever again. But why? He may not like Deceit and Remus, but he is not afraid of them, just angry. This could have been a lead up to Remus’ introduction and how Virgil’s reactions to intrusive thoughts were harmful to Thomas, or to his fear of being exposed as a dark side, but what if it wasn’t?

What if Virgil’s dislike of Deceit comes from his connection to Ignorance, instead of anything that Deceit has done directly? Just like many theorize that Roman’s dislike of Virgil stemmed from his previous connection to Remus.

Ignorance as a resentful Roman after Thomas loses the opportunity of a lifetime because of the wedding? It’s definitely possible.

To whoever it was that said they believe Deceit is going to impersonate Roman in the next episode simply because Roman did the signature dark side nose scrunch in one picture...I want you to know you've been seen and heard and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

Wait...Patton, what if we're stuck like this? What if we can never unfuse? How will it affect Thomas, he needs his morality he needs you as YOU not whatever this-

Virgil. Breathe for me please? I know, this is a little weird right now. But, I can assure you, Logan will know what to do and we will be our normal, separate selves again in no time. We're gonna make it work. You trust that, right?

Though I appreciate your hypotheses, I have to inform you that none are exactly correct. I did not "find" the Mindex, nor did I research it anywhere. In fact, though I am not the side usually in charge of making things, I created the Mindex. As Thomas's brain, it is extremely important that I know as much as possible about everyone, so I began taking profiles of every side quite some time ago. Soon enough, they required more storage space than I had in my room, so I had to create a separate space to house them. I then found a way to "program" the room, in a sense, to function independently. Meaning, it can now create new files without assistance, and organizes them accordingly.

Awe, I love ya too kiddo! And well telling Thomas...Oh my goodness, I haven't even thought about that. What is he gonna say? How are we gonna tell him Logan?

I think it would be best to gather all information on you before we confront Thomas about this, so as to alleviate any confusion, and to ensure we can answer any questions he might have. Once we do that, we can address the issue of when we are going to speak with him.

MI and Logan walk up to a large doorway at the end if a hallways MI had never seen before.

"Apologies, but I never asked your name."

"Oh! Uhm...just call me MI."

"Well then, MI. Welcome, to the Mindex."

Logan opened the door to reveal a fairly large room, with a navy blue floor and walls, and rows of tall gray filling cabinets. He led MI inside.

"Inside these drawers, are extensive files on the sides, and other various things related to the sides. Here, we can research and discover almost anything you could ever want to know about any of us."

"Wow, this is amazing but...why haven't you ever mentioned this room before? It kind of seems like a big secret to keep to yourself."

"I understand the confusion but I assure you that it was only done for the benefit of the rest, and Thomas of course. If the sides were to get too self aware, it could lead to various cognitive issues with the host body, and if we're being frank, he appears to have enough of those already. Now, since you are a new side, technically, your aisle should over at this end."

Logan led MI over to the far right side of the room to find a row that, unlike the others, had only one single, small cabinet. Logan opened the top draw and inside, lay two beige folders with papers inside.

"Now, let's find out a little more about yourself."

"Salutations"

"Logan! I....I uh, kind of need your help with something."

"Are you alright? Why does your voice sound like that, are you sick?"

"No I'm not sick, well not really. Anyway, could you please just come to Virgil's room for a second?"

"Alright, I'll be there soon. Goodbye."

"See ya."

There's a knock at the door. MI walks over and puts a hand on the knob, pausing for a moment. They take a deep breath, and open the door slowly.

Logan's eyes grow wider, as he looks up to meet MI's eyes. "Patt? Or...Virgil? Wha-" He's cut off by MI pulling him into the room and closing the door behind them.

"We need your help." They stated bluntly.

"Clearly." Logan stepped closer to MI, his eyes twinkling with curiosity and wonder. "I can't believe it...did you two really fuse?"

"Wait, you know about fusion? How?" Virgil spoke out, eagerly taking the reigns for a second, before stepping back to let Patton back through with him.

"Well, since I act, in a way, as Thomas's brain, I'm aware of all functions and abilities of the sides. Including fusion. I have always known this to be a possibility for us all, but I didn't expect it to ever come into fruition. It's an incredibly rare occurance, one that must be triggered by Thomas, whether consciencely or not. Something must have happened to cause this...but what is the question."

"Has this ever happened before?"

"Well...no, not really..." Logan got a strange look on his face, before shaking his head and quickly stating. "I-I mean, I've attempted it before, but we can't access the ability ourselves. As I said, it must be triggered through Thomas somehow."

"Do you have any idea what might've triggered uh...us?"

"No, but I know where we can check."

With deceit? I...I don't think that would be good idea. He isn't-or well. I don't know, I don't want to think about that too much.

Positive! I'm not a dark side! At least, I hope. I'm going to try to be. I want to help Thomas, and everyone else too! I-I'm not bad I promise, I'm a light side!

Its...odd, but pretty cool.

My body is gone, but my mind is still here. I still have my own thoughts, but I can hear some of Patton's thoughts as well.

Its neat being a little taller. And I don't need my glasses anymore with is a plus, but I've got this weird headache which isn't too fun.

I...I don't know. I haven't thought about it yet. I...hope they like me.

What if they don't though? They're going to think it's weird, no one's ever done this before.

I think it'll be fine. They love us both separately and now we're all bundled up into one! I can't wait to see them, we should make them something for the special occasion and surprise them!
