OK listen up nerds, I have a challenge for you.

Strangers In A Tangled Wilderness has just published my Letter to the Trans Teens Thinking About Giving Up as a zine. I want to see how many copies of it we can get into the hands of the people who need to read it, and I need YOUR help.

Option 1: You send me an address where you can get mail, and I mail you a copy.

Option 2: you print a copy yourself from this link.

You write a little note in the front page for the trans teen who's going to pick it up, and then you leave it somewhere they might find it. Maybe a library, or a highschool, or a movie theater, or a skate park, or on the bus -- wherever you think there's a chance someone who needs it will find it.

Our community's young people are being bombarded all day every day by messages telling them they shouldn't exist, that the only good thing they can do in this world is die, that nobody cares about them. We have an opportunity to give them one (1) data point to the contrary. Who's with me?

Not a very good picture, I'm afraid, but an interesting one. It's of a drag ball in Webster Hall in the 1920s. Webster Hall, in Greenwich Village, hosted several drag balls during the twenties. They were wildly successful and were some of the few times when transvestites were allowed to openly dress in drag. The events continued until the Great Depression.
