family matters.

There was no way that was Emmett. There was no way that was her big brother and he hadn’t found her first. She caught sight of his pink hearing aide and her blood began to boil. Though tiny in stature she quickly closed the distance between the two of them. And even though she knew he couldn’t hear her, as she was coming from behind, she already began to go off. “How long have you been here for? Why is this the first time I’ve seen you?!”
She jogged quickly around to get in front of him. Her hands settling on her hips, “Emmett you explain yourself!” Demanding as ever. But behind that anger she was so overjoyed to see the familiar face.

Eileen sat quietly on a bench in the city center. Her hand idling over her sketchbook. Thoughtful and without any rush, she was observing the world around her. She was beginning to notice things to draw besides people. The hospital all looked the same and she had felt like she’d drawn everything there a long time ago. Her eyes settled on a pretty fountain nearby and began setting an outline for it. All it took was one glance down and back up.
Suddenly there was a person, a girl, a rather young looking girl. She gives a small smile. This was the first girl she’d seen in the city. Eileen lifted her hand in a slight wave.

The best thing about art, is that anyone can see its beauty- even the blind or hateful. Art has no preference on who can look at it and be taken back by how wonderful it is.

She liked messy beds and movie nights without any lights on. She liked the quiet company of a few good friends. Her idea of love was gentle and silent, like a whisper of a touch. Some things are magical and magic, contrary to popular opinion, is often found in the most ordinary of places.

“Well, what are you staring at? I’m not contagious.” She frowns at the dark haired boy. She’d been in the city for what a whole half a day? She wiped a flower petal from her lip and put her hands on her hip. Eileen had just coughed a little and a few stray petals just happened to come up. It happens. It wasn’t a big deal for her. She was just minding her own business trying to figure out things and gain her bearings on this new city to call home, starting in the city center.
Everything seemed so.... soft. And she was really starting to enjoy herself and the atmosphere. Which was much nicer than that of the hospital. She was tired of being looked at like she was sick.

Well she had certainly been walking for a while. Trying to see herself around this city. Find anyone who was any sort of familiar. But it seemed she was definitely a long way from Maple Hill. And while her throat didn’t feel bad, it seemed to be a good day upon arriving. She understood the complications of her fleurine and knew that she would eventually need some sort of doctor. She just hoped this city would have one.
She paused for a moment and took a puff from her inhaler.
She had no idea anyone was near her. So far she had only seen sheep.

When Eileen awoke she didn’t quite recognize where she was. It wasn’t the hospital room she had grown so accustomed to waking in. And a small part of her panicked as a hand flew to her throat. A finger gently touching the scar that marked where doctors had fixed her breathing. She flung off the covers, perhaps a tad too aggressive than necessary, and peeked out the window. A frown crossed her face and she answered the door.
She squinted at sheep for a moment before snatching the letter from it’s mouth. Her face curling at the drool. She reads the letter and pushes past the sheep off to explore the city.
Eileen sticks her hands in her pockets, making certain her inhaler is on her. She feels an odd combination of freedom and worry about her new situation.
